Operational Performance
Performance Integrated Flue Check Valve - Prevents backflow of combustion gases in common vent systems Fiber Mesh Premix Burner - Provides even flame distribution for optimal performance at any demand - Manufactured by Rinnai Primary Stainless Steel HEX - Resists the corrosive nature of the condensate, which occurs early in the high-efficiency combustion process. - Manufactured by Rinnai All components working together provide the best combustion performance possible Turbo Fan - Feeds burner with gas/air mixture - Provides longest venting options by any tankless manufacturer - Manufactured by Rinnai Switching Venturi - Provides consistent mixture of air and gas to burner - Self-compensates with low or fluctuating gas pressures - Manufactured by Rinnai Zero Governor Gas Valve - Optimizes combustion by consistently delivering gas and air - Manufactured by Rinnai
Increased Water Flow A parameter adjustment can be made for greater hot water flow (up to 11 GPM) in areas with low delta T. Maximum flow rates may vary based on set temperature, and altitude
Lower Minimum Gas Pressure Natural 3.5 in. w.c. - 10.5 in. w.c. Propane 8.0 in. w.c. - 13.5 in. w.c. The gas and air are premixed in the venturi before delivery to the burner assembly. Operational Performance The unit will self compensate (de-rate) in areas with fluctuating or low gas pressures, to optimize performance. Minimizes errors due to poor gas pressures or air flow
Operational Performance Integrated MC-91-2 controller in all water heaters. It is located behind the front panel on external units Cascade systems Residential units are linked with EZ connect or MSB accessories Commercial units have onboard cascade controls built into the PCB (up to 24 units)
Operational Performance - Recirculation Different plumbing configurations 1. Dedicated Return Line 2. Bypass Mode
Operational Performance - Recirculation Two models available with RUR199 and the new smaller RUR160 with by-pass mode Select the accessory controller for desired recirculation 1. MC195T 2. Or Timer Based Timer Based Wireless Demand
Operational Performance - Recirculation Customized interface for customer 4 unique programable schedules, with multiple On/Off periods Vanity name each schedule 30 minute schedule increments Resets after loss of power Vacation mode
Operational Performance - Recirculation Mobile On-Demand 5 minute default 30 minute intervals up to 2 hours Upon completion reverts back to saved schedules
Serviceability
Quick Change Components Designed for Serviceability Every component was designed to be removed in under 10 minutes Heat exchanger Water flow servo PCB (Data Transfer) Turbo Fan Etc.
Stainless Steel Primary Heat Exchangers The SENSEI combustion system has several new components working together in harmony. Zero governor gas valve Switching venturi Turbo fan Premix burner The entire burner surface area comes on at low inputs rather than a staged burner. This combustion system is more efficient at lower inputs and will produce condensate earlier in the combustion process.
Stainless Steel Primary Heat Exchangers Because of the potential for condensate at a low inputs, Rinnai chose stainless steel on the Primary Heat Exchanger To further optimize durability: Tubes are made from 444 SS which is superior for corrosive properties, and has a lower coefficient of expansion, and better thermal conductivity. The body is also made from 400 series SS. The tube design incorporates a 1.0 mm wall thickness vs..8 mm tubes for extra durability. Fluorine gaskets are used at the joints rather than EPDM for durability and heat resistance
Internal Insect Trap Internal insect trap helps keep the combustion system clean Easy to remove Minimizes the need and time to service
Intake vent screen Intake vent screen included with all units Use for room air or 2 pipe venting systems
