How it works Bidirectional WiFi communication Standard WiFi router Lightwave Link Bidirectional RF communication The App The App The free smartphone and tablet App can be downloaded from the App store or Google Play. The App provides control for up to 80 heating and monitoring devices, as well as 256 other LightwaveRF modules. Basic App features include grouping, scene lighting, energy monitoring, heating scheduling, temperature reporting, scheduled events, and socket / dimmer locking. The Lightwave Link The Lightwave Link is the key to the system. It relays commands between the App and modules such as dimmers, switches, sockets, heating and outdoor lighting. It requires a connection to your home broadband WiFi router. One Link will cover a typical large house, but the standard free smartphone App will allow up to three to be used to extend the RF range (see commercial section for much larger installs). LightwaveRF Modules Installing LightwaveRF in the home is very simple. No complex planning or alterations to the building fabric is needed. No special installation training is necessary; many modules are plug and play, and wired units only require an installer to have a part p qualification to wire them. They use standard 35mm backboxes. No extra cabling is required.
LightwaveRF Smartphone / Tablet App Scenes From the App, you can engage with moods or scenes. These allow you to set favourite device on/ off and dim states, so that, at the touch of a button, you can recall you preferred setups. All your lamps can at once go to the correct dim level and status for watching a film or entertaining guests in the evening. You can also hit all off which can turn everything off once you are in bed for the evening. Events & Timers Events and timers are very useful features on the Apps. They allow you to schedule one or several LightwaveRF devices to turn on or off or to dim automatically at a certain time. This time can be repeated on a daily or weekly basis. You can, for instance, set a timer to turn your porch lights on at dusk (the system geo-locates and knows when this is), or a random timer to turn lights on and off if you are on holiday; very useful in terms of home security. Heating From the heating page you can monitor, control and schedule LightwaveRF heating devices including boiler and radiator control. LightwaveRF Radiator valves (TRVs) allow you to control your heating roomby-room by setting precise temperature and scheduling routines to fit your lifestyle. You can monitor and set the temperature in realtime from anywhere. Secure Data and logins Data and security is taken seriously, and all user accounts are password protected and secure. You can allow multiple users to access the same account if you want to accommodate other family members, friends or colleagues on your system. All data an information is saved and automatically backed up on our secure remote servers. Easy room by room access The LightwaveRF smartphone, tablet and web apps are free and include ios and Google versions. A simple menu system (pictured below) allows you to organise your devices room by room. Up to 256 lighting and power and 80 heating devices can be linked to per Lightwave Link. Setup is simple and should only tale a few seconds. Energy Monitoring The App can help you save money by Identifying power hungry appliances using the energy page. Unlike other power monitors, however, with LightwaveRF you can then switch them off remotely using your smartphone. By turning off unnecessary heating and lighting, very significant savings can be made. From mid 2016, data from the energy monitor can be stored, and historic data can be viewed in graphical format.

Sophisticated scene lighting can be achieved at a very low cost by replacing standard light-switches with LightwaveRF dimmers that use the existing wiring. Stand or table lamps can be integrated using the Plug-in Dimmer. Scene lighting controllers are wirelessly linked to the dimmers and plug-in dimmers. Keep the heat off The Magnetic Trigger can be used to automatically turn down the radiator (using a LightwaveRF TRV) in a room if the window (or door) is opened. Magnetic Trigger sensors attached to windows and doors not only give you peace of mind, but can send you text alerts direct to your smartphone, in the event of suspicious activity. Sense & sensibility Use PIR sensors to automatically detect movement and activate lighting or power devices. Very useful when the kids get up in the night to use the bathroom. 6:55am 7:15am 8:35am 9:10am 9:55am The day begins... The perfect start. Steve and Katie are gently woken by the soft-start bedside light. The bathroom light comes on automatically while the towel rail has been warming up for 20 mins. Katie takes a shower before the children get up. Katie uses the Master switch to turn off every light and socket off with one button. Katie drops off Ben and Libby before setting off for a meeting. In the rush she s forgotten to turn off her hair straighteners. She turns them off via her iphone at the school gates. Katie receives a security alert and sees a live picture of their hallway on her ipad. It s OK, it s just Steve.
