Do not pull or carry by the cord, use the cord as a handle, close a door on the cord, or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over the cord. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord. Do not handle the plug or appliance with wet hands. OPERATION This vacuum is intended for household use only. Turning the Vacuum On Hold the vacuum handle firmly in your hand and turn the power button to the Low Speed position indicated by the I (Fig. 1). Turn the power button to the High Speed position indicated by the II (Fig. 2) when more power is required, for example when vacuuming carpeted stairs. Hose Cleaning Fig. 1 To clean with the hose attachment, remove the hose from the inlet. This disables the brushroll allowing for better cleaning performance with the hose. Reattach the hose to the inlet to activate the brushroll for carpet cleaning. Push the hose onto the inlet until it clicks. Doing so will ensure the hose is properly attached and the brushroll is activated. Fig. 2 Important: Do not push the hose too far onto the inlet. If the hose is pushed too far onto the inlet, the brushroll will not activate. Cleaning Tools Your vacuum is equipped with a dusting brush, and crevice tool. Dusting Brush Ideal for table tops, shelves and blinds. A dusting brush is attached to the end of the hose. To extend the brush, twist the brush to unlock it. Push the brush away from the hose and twist it in the opposite direction to lock it into place. Retract the brush when not in use. Dusting Brush Crevice Tool Ideal for tight places like between seat cushions or corners. Attach the crevice tool to the end of the dusting brush. 5 Crevice Tool

OPERATION Emptying the Dust Cup NOTE: Always unplug from electrical outlet before opening the dust cup. The dust cup must be properly installed to operate the vacuum. To remove the dust cup, push the dust cup release button and pull out the dust cup. (Fig. 1) Press the dust cup button to release the bottom and empty the dust from the dust cup. (Fig. 2) Fig. 1 Pull out the dust cup filter. (Fig. 3) Shake filter to remove debris. If desired, you may rinse the dust cup filter under cold water.
