General information Loop detectors and modules The detector series offers ionisation smoke detectors, optical smoke detectors, heat detectors and a multisensor detector, communicating with the FMZ 5000 with a Loop AP module. The series is supplemented by manual call points, modules, isolators and other loop nodes. Every product responds to queries and control commands from the re alarm panels. It communicates with the re alarm panel about the status, type and position as well as external commands and other information contributing to the alarm status. The signals are also checked for errors. A some detectors ve different operating modes are available which can be selected via the re alarm panel. Each operating mode has speci c response behaviour which corresponds to the re criteria to be expected. Conventional detectors Conventional detectors with a wide range of supply voltages. The interactive loop detectors de ne a new standard in reliable re detection. Highly developed software algorithms and strongly expanded functionalities set new standards. Fire characteristics are selected in such a way that a re will be safely detected. The various options for the individual adjustment of the detector sensitivity and several setup modes dependent on the time of day guarantee the optimum detector adjustment to the area being monitored. With these performance characteristics all safety concepts can be implemented and ensure maximum customer bene t: - Five detector sensitivity stages/algorithms for each application (for the standard loop detectors) - Detector sensitivity that can be switched according to environmental conditions depending on the time of day (for the standard loop detectors) - Automatic drift compensation of the measuring system for constant sensitivity over the whole period of application - Automatic contamination detection and early maintenance indication for the ef cient deployment of maintenance personnel - Automatic function monitoring including sensor technology for greatest availability - Safe operation due to emergency running characteristics during a potential processor failure - Non-volatile memory, e.g. date of commissioning, last service, reference number, value of the drift compensation A variety of detector installation bases and numerous modules for adding contacts and issuing signals complete this system. Visual and acoustic signal transmitters can also be switched directly on the loop to issue alarms. P31.311.000en / 01.14 Chapter 5-1

Modules, addressable, DIN rail mounting FMZ5000 loop coupler module Order no.: 902954 Product features For the interface connection of conventional detectors to a loop of the loop module. Functional module for use in all design variants of the re alarm system FMZ 5000. The loop coupler module is a loop node on a loop of the loop module. It includes 4 conventional detector zones with their own addresses, which are detected and dealt with by the re alarm panel like four detectors of the detector loop. The status of the detector zones and the detectors are reported to the re alarm panel via the con gured address. Detectors can be connected in two-detector dependancies and groups can be connected in group dependancies. For use in hazard areas, detectors in intrinsically safe design can be connected via Zener barriers. The detector lines have a common base address, which is set in increments of 4 for all detector lines. The module has a default con guration that can be modi ed using the con guration software MxLoopCon, Order no. 904001. The module has four conventional detector zones. P31.311.810-10en / 01.14 Alarm and pre-alarm of every zone are transmitted. The zones can be deactivated individually via the loop.
