1. INTRODUCTION M15-GSL12P30 is designed for non-contact temperature measuring. It is Consists of a detector head, a control box and a signal cable. The detector head collects infrared energy from a target into an infrared sensor and converts this energy to an electrical signal. After processing, this signal is transmitted to the control box, which then displays a corresponding temperature. M15-GSL12P30S is the same sensor head used with the M15-03 above, but does not include the control box. It is intended for use with a 4-20mA output circuit or an RS485 digital communications port. Operation Instructions for M15-GSL12P30 System HOW TO USE 3.0.1 Install detector head. 3.0.2 Connect signal cable to the control box according to this instruction manual (Figure 3). Keep this cable away from AC wires. 3.0.3 Turn on the thermometer to start real time measuring, target temperature will be displayed. 3.1 Aiming: 3.1.1 Press and hold the laser button on detector head for 2 seconds to select laser sighting while measuring. The laser will turn off automatically after 30 seconds. 3.2 Error Indication: 3.2.2 Target temperature under -20 C (-4 F) LO appears. 3.2.3 Target temperature over 1200 C (2192 F), HI appears. 3.2.4 If working environment of detector head is less than 0 C (32 F) PLO appears. 3.2.5 If working environment of detector head is more than 50 C (122 F) PHI appears. 3.3 Control Box Operation: 3.3.2 LED has 6 digits. The first bit indicates C/F, the second digit indicates status, and the last four digits indicate temperature. 3.3.3 Press and hold SET, the current functions step through in the following order: 3.3.4 Emissivity: E and emissivity value will display, press or to adjust emissivity. 4

3.3.5 Identification Number of Detector Head:PP and identification number appear, press or to adjust the number. This is a unique user selectable identification number. 3.3.6 C/F: C and F appear at the first and second digit, the second digit indicates present status. F is Fahrenheit. C is Celsius. Press or to toggle between F and C, high/ low alarm and temperature reading will change accordingly. 3.3.7 High Alarm: FH/CH and high temperature limit appear, press or to adjust this value. If target temperature is above this limit, buzzer alarm will sound and FH/CH will display. 3.3.8 Low Alarm: FL/CL and low temperature limit appear, press or to adjust this value. If target temperature is under this limit, buzzer alarm will sound and FL/CL will display. Note: lowest temperature of low alarm: 0 C(32 F) 3.3.9 Peak / Instantaneous Value: PH-- (instantaneous value) or PH00 (peak value) displays, press or to change between them. 3.3.10 To measure real time temperature, set the thermometer to instantaneous value. If it is set to peak value, PP and current peak temperature appear. This temperature will be updated by a new peak value. 3.3.11 Press ESC button to exit from any status and start temperature measuring Figure 2 Control Box Installations 5
