What Do We Do? - Recycling Collections in all academic and administrative buildings - Oversee hauling contracts to remove materials from campus - Develop and maintain relationships with recycling facilities so that materials have a place to go - Provide education throughout campus - Special Events: Move-In, Move-Out, Tree Plantings, Campus Cleanups, Earth Day - Composting education and assistance - Zero Waste Football/Events

General Office Recycling 2 blends of paper; Office and News Blend Office Blend: will be pretty much any paper that goes through the copier, as well as envelopes with out windows, multipart forms, and file folders. News Blend: pretty much everything else, magazines, newspaper, envelopes with windows, any slick paper, Post-its, copier wrappers, and chipboard. Got cardboard? Flatten the box and stick between or behind your paper bins. Our staff will collect when they pick up your paper. 70607
Recycling PSA Do you need to clean out your office files? Has someone left and you have to clean out their office? Is it just so much stuff you are at a loss as to what to do with everything? Recycling can help. Give us a call on campus at 70607, and we ll get you a toter to fill up with as much paper as you can stuff in it.
Where Does it Go Now? Cardboard and our mixed paper (news blend) is hauled to Caraustar, a paper recycling company. Because it is separate, and Caraustar doesn t have to sort things out, we get some money back for this.
Where Does it Go Now? Office paper is picked up by another paper recycling company: Maslo, Inc. Again, because it is all office paper, and they don t have to sort, we get some money back.
Where Does it Go Now? Cans, bottles, and containers are hauled to ReCommunity the same place that curbside collections from your homes are taken. Because ReCommunity has to sort materials out even more, we pay them but we pay them LESS than it would cost us to landfill this.
