Safety notes Mounting CS92A Caution Isolate power supply and make safe before wiring the units to prevent electric shock and equipment damage. Installation should be carried out by a competent person. Mounting CS92A sensor The sensor should be mounted on the cylinder in a position between 1/4 and 1/3 of the way from the bottom. ENGISH EMC compliance considerations Keep AC mains supply/load cables separate from signal wiring. Refer to Code of Practice standards EN61000-5-1 and EN61000-5-2 for guidance. ocating CS92A and BDR91 units The CS92A transceiver and BDR91 relay module should be mounted in a location where there are no metal objects in a direct line between them and the evotouch. Do not mount on metal wall-boxes. eave at least 30cm distance from any metal objects and at least 1 metre from any other electrical equipment. For the CS92A transceiver select a preferred location, ensuring it is close enough to the cylinder so that the strap-on sensor element can reach the cylinder and test the signal strength before installation. Remove a section of insulation (1) and clean the exposed cylinder surface carefully to ensure good thermal contact. Position the sensor in the cutout. Cut fixing strap (2) to size (if required) to ensure sensor is held firmly against cylinder. 1 2 3 ocate mounting strap in the cover slot (3). Screw hooks into strap and link together. 7

Mounting CS92A transceiver The CS92A transceiver is supplied in the package with the mounting plate separated from the rest of the unit for ease of installation. The sensor wiring can be fed in from the top of the mounting plate or from the left hand side. Cut a suitable hole in the appropriate plastic breakout. Provide appropriate strain relief by attaching the sensor cable to the wall using cable clips, or alternatively run the cable in mini trunking. Powering up CS92A / Battery replacement First hold the transceiver approximately 1 metre from evotouch. To power it up, unclip the battery cover, remove the paper tab that isolates the batteries from their contacts, and replace the battery cover. When replacing batteries note the battery polarity. Closing CS92A transceiver Install the CS92A transceiver mounting plate in the chosen location next to the hot water cylinder. Wiring the CS92A transceiver Hinge the front piece of the CS92A transceiver onto the mounting plate and press until it clicks securely into place. ead the 2 sensor wires through the mounting plate and connect them to terminals A and B on the CS92A mounting plate as shown. The wires are polarity free, so they can be connected in any order. 8

Mounting BDR91 Mounting BDR91 = M3.5 = No6 ENGISH Open the BDR91 relay module by inserting a screwdriver in the opening at the bottom. The wiring can be led in either from the rear or from the left hand side. < 7mm > 7mm Install the BDR91 relay module mounting plate in the chosen location. Closing BDR91 relay module Hinge the front piece of the BDR91 relay module onto the mounting plate and press until it clicks securely into place. If entry from the left hand side is desired, cut suitable holes in the appropriate plastic breakouts. 9

Configuring CS92A How to bind CS92A to evotouch Hold the CS92A transceiver (without mounting plate and sensor) approximately 1 metre from evotouch. Green light (under button) Red light (under button) CS92A signal strength test Once CS92A is bound to evotouch, the signal strength test allows the transceiver to be positioned in the best possible location for signal reception. Activate signal strength test on the CS92A transceiver Green light (under button) Put CS92A into binding mode by pressing and holding the CS92A button for 5 seconds, until the green light comes on and the red light flashes once a second. Follow the evotouch GUIDED CONFIGURATION or EXPERT CONFIGURATION until the following screen appears. Red light (under button) Press the CS92A button once. The green light should come on. If it doesn t, reinsert the batteries and try again. With the green light on, the red light should start to flash to indicate the status. 5 secs Signal Strength = 5 Signal Strength = 2 Now press the CS92A button to send the binding message to evotouch. The evotouch display shows The BIND signal was received properly. Press NEXT when successful or BACK to send again.. If binding was successful CS92A will exit binding mode and both lights will switch off. If binding was unsuccessful, repeat binding procedure. evotouch measures the strength of the CS92A signal every 5 seconds and will communicate this to CS92A as a number between 0 and 5. CS92A will then indicate this number by flashing its red light a number of times in succession, followed by a pause of between 2 and 4 seconds. The number of flashes is equivalent to the signal strength number. A signal strength > 2 is recommended to ensure reliable communication. 10

Signal strength test step 1 Hold the CS92A transceiver (without mounting plate and sensor) approximately 1 metre from evotouch and check the signal strength is high (>2). If so, move to step 2. If the red light repeatedly flashes 0.1s on / 0.9s off without pausing, this means CS92A is not bound to evotouch. Go to How to bind CS92A to evotouch, follow the instructions there and after binding is complete, return to the signal strength test. Signal strength test step 2 Whilst staying in signal strength test mode, take the CS92A transceiver to the preferred location. Wait for 10 seconds and check the signal strength > 2. If so, the CS92A is ready to mount. If the signal strength is < 2, re-position the transceiver within the local area +/ 1m to see if the signal strength improves. If this fails, you may need to re-position the CS92A transceiver completely and extend the cable to the sensor element. Exit signal strength test Exit signal strength test by pressing the CS92A button again. CS92A will time out of this mode after 10 minutes, but may indicate a sensor fault if the sensor element is not connected within this time period. evotouch RF test The signal strength can be displayed at the evotouch, too. Go to the evotouch menu, select RF TEST HOT WATER and follow the instructions on the screens. Press the button of the CS92A briefly to activate the test mode. Press the NEXT button on the evotouch. The signal strength is indicated on the evotouch controller. The signal strength can be EXCEENT, GOOD, POOR or NOT RECEIVED. Error indications To save battery power, CS92A error conditions will be indicated on the evotouch. It is possible to view the CS92A status by pressing the button on the transceiver box. The lights underneath this button will provide feedback as shown in the table. Indication Green light on Red light flashes 0.1s on / 0.9s off Red light flashes 0.5s on / 0.5s off Red light on continuously Status Everything is OK, press button again to exit Battery low condition, replace batteries Sensor error, check sensor connection oss of communications ENGISH 11

Configuring BDR91 Binding BDR91 hot water/heating relay Note: Binding is terminated automatically after 5 minutes. After the power up of the BDR91 relay module the red ED will start to flash at 0.1s on / 0.9s off. If this is not the case, set the BDR91 into the reset mode (see instructions BDR91). Press and hold the button of the BDR91 relay module for 5 seconds to activate the bind mode. Checking RF communication The evotouch controller sends test signals to and from the assigned BDR91 relay module in order to test the signal strength. The red ED flashing at 0.5s on / 0.5s off confirms that the bind mode has been activated. Follow the evotouch GUIDED CONFIGURATION or EXPERT CONFIGURATION until the following screen appears. Position the evotouch controller as close as possible to the BDR91 relay module. Press the BIND button on the evotouch controller to send the bind signal to the BDR91 relay module. The red ED of the BDR91 is switched off to confirm a successful binding. The signal strength can be EXCEENT, GOOD, POOR or NOT RECEIVED. 12 The evotouch display shows The BIND signal was sent. Press NEXT when successful or BACK to send again. If binding was unsuccessful, repeat binding procedure.

Troubleshooting This section gives suggested answers to typical problems that installers may encounter: Problem Domestic hot water not available Solution In case of a communication failure the relay module for domestic hot water will be switched off. ENGISH Check RF communication. The batteries of the hot water sensor are discharged Check the hot water sensor: Press CS92A button and the red light blinks 0.5s on / 0.5s off. (Note: the light will switch off after approx. 1 minute to save battery power.) The evotouch will display a message that the batteries of the hot water sensor are discharged. It is important to change the CS92A batteries as soon as it is displayed on the evotouch. Reduced battery power might affect the RF signal strength and have an impact on RF communications. Communication loss Check battery status on the CS92A: Press CS92A button and the red light gives a short flash every second 0.1s on / 0.9s off. (Note: the light will switch off after approx. 1 minute to save battery power.) oss of communication will be indicated on the evotouch or the actuators. Check the RF communication between evotouch and the actuators and sensors. If there is no communication try to bind the device again. If this does not resolve the problem, check the RF path between the two devices and reposition any object that may be blocking the RF signal. 13
