WAARSKUWINGS Groenmielies moet nie ge-oes word van plante waarvan die saad behandel was nie. Mielieplante waarvan die saad behandel was moenie voor elf weke na opkoms aan diere gevoer word nie. Behandelde saad mag nie vir menslike of dierlike voeding gebruik word nie. Hanteer uiters versigtig. Giftig wanneer ingesluk, ingeasem of deur die vel opgeneem word. Giftig vir visse, voëls, wild en bye. Vermorsing van saad op die end van die plantry moet voorkom word, ten einde moontlike vergiftiging van natuurlewe te voorkom. Bêre agter slot en grendel in n koel plek. Bêre weg van voedsel en voer. Hou buite bereik van kinders, oningeligte persone en diere. VLAMBAAR - Hou weg van vuur en vonke. Indien vergiftiging opgedoen word, NEEM PASIëNT ONMIDDELLIK NA DIE NAASTE GENEESHEER EN TOON HIERDIE ETIKET AAN HOM. Alhoewel hierdie middel omvattend onder 'n groot verskeidenheid toestande getoets is waarborg die registrasiehouer nie dat dit onder alle toestande doeltreffend sal wees nie aangesien die werking en effek daarvan beinvloed kan word deur faktore soos saad kwaliteit, abnormale klimaats- en bergings-toestande; verenigbaarbaarheid met ander stowwe wat nie op die etiket aangedui is nie en die voorkoms van weerstand van die siekte teen die betrokke middel sowel as die metode, tyd en akkuraatheid van toediening. Verder aanvaar die registrasiehouer nie verantwoordelikheid vir skade aan gewasse, plantegroei, die omgewing of vir nadelige effek op mens of dier of vir 'n gebrek aan prestasie van die betrokke middel as gevolg van die versuim van die gebruiker om etiketaanwysings na te kom of as gevolg van die ontstaan van toestande wat nie kragtens die registrasie voorsien kon word nie. Raadpleeg die verskaffer of registrasiehouer in die geval van enige onsekerheid. 1
VOORSORGMAATREËLS Vermy enige kontak met die vloeistof en inaseming van dampe. Dra beskermende klere, oorpak, gesigskerm, rubberhandskoene en stewels wanneer saad behandel word. Was met water en seep na gebruik. Moenie eet, drink of rook gedurende hantering, of behandeling van saad voordat hande en gesig gewas is nie. Maak mengdrom skoon na gebruik. Raak ontslae van uitspoelwater waar dit nie damme, riviere of gewasse sal besoedel nie. Begrawe alle behandelde saad wat mors onder die grond. Maak gate in leë houer en vernietig en moet vir geen ander doel weer gebruik nie. Voorkom besoedeling van voedsel, voer, eetgerei en drinkwater. Merk houers waarin behandelde saad geplaas word duidelik met die woord GIFTIG. SIMPTOME VAN MENSLIKE VERGIFTIGING Hoofpyn, vermoeidheid, flouheid, duiseligheid, oormatige sweet, mislikheid, buikpyn, braking, belemmerde gesigsvermoë, spiertrekkings, gewoonlik verkleinde pupille, asemhalingsnood, bewusteloosheid. NOODHULPBEHANDELING Verwyder die persoon van die oorsaak van vergiftiging, stel hom gerus en hou hom stil. Verwyder besoedelde klere en spoel gekontamineerde dele met baie seep en koue water af. Moet nie die vel hard vrywe nie. Besmette oë moet vir 15 minute of langer met skoon water uitgespoel word. Induseer braking deur die agterste gedeelte van die keel te prikkel met n vinger. Herhaal totdat braaksel helder is en nie langer na gif ruik nie. NEEM PASIëNT ONMIDDELLIK NA DIE NAASTE GENEESHEER. Pas kunsmatige asemhaling of geslote hartmassering toe indien nodig. Moet nie direkte mond tot mond asemhaling toepas nie. MOET NOOIT IETS PER MOND AAN N BEWUSTELOSE PERSOON TOEDIEN NIE. 2
NOTA AAN GENEESHEER Atropien sulfaat 2-4 mg (volwasse) binneaars. Herhaal elke 10 minute totdat atropinasie intree (droë, gloeiende vel en tachycardea voorkom). Moet nie gekombineer word met oksiem behandelings nie. GEBRUIKSAANWYSINGS: Gebruik slegs soos aangedui ONCOL 900 LS is 'n nat saadbehandeling, en kan nie afdroog nie. ONCOL 900 LS behandelde saad kan soms stadiger as onbehandelde saad ontkiem. Moenie in droë grond plant nie. Grond moet geskik wees vir onmiddellike ontkieming. Abnormale lae grondtemperature en droë grondtoestande kan ontkieming vertraag. Grondtemperature op plantdiepte moet bo 15 C wees. Wanneer toestande tydens plant nie optimaal is nie (droogte of koue) sal die ontkiem-ing van ONCOL 900 LS behandelde saad benadeel word. Kompenseer vir die moontlike standverlies, deur meer ONCOL 900 LS behandelde saad per ha te plant en wel as volg: ONCOL 900 LS dosis Verhoging in kg saad/ha 500 m /50 kg saad 5% (d.i. 0,55 kg 5F saad vir n stand van 30 000 plante/ha 750 m /50 kg saad 15% (d.i. 1,65 kg 5F saad vir n stand van 30 000 plante/ha Behandel saad slegs enkele ure voor plant, want saad wat langer as een dag voor plant behandel is, mag swak ontkiem. Indien dit nie moontlik is nie, moet die hoeveelheid saad wat per hektaar geplant gaan word met 15% verhoog word. Saad van n swak gehalte, of ou saad kan ook standverliese tot gevolg hê. Maak seker dat sade wat met ONCOL 900 LS behandel word, van n hoë kwaliteit is. Moenie meer saad behandel as wat op een dag geplant gaan word nie. 3
Die ONCOL 900 LS moet eers deeglik in n mengdrom met mieliesaad gemeng word, totdat alle saad oranje verkleur het. Vir makliker hantering en plant moet daarna 0,5 kg No 1 gesifte Mieliemeel by 50 kg ONCOL 900 LS behandelde saad in die mengdrom gemeng word. Moenie talk, grafiet, mieliegruis, LINDASTOF 200 DS (Reg. No. L 356) of ander middels by die ONCOL 900 LS behandelde saad voeg nie. Saad wat met Kaptan behandel is, kan met ONCOL 900 LS behandel word. Indien Mieliemeel bygevoeg word, gebruik slegs No 1 gesifte Mieliemeel. Die ONCOL 900 LS moet nie bo-op die saad in die planterbak gegooi word nie, aangesien dit swak bedekking en swak insekbeheer tot gevolg sal hê. Moenie ONCOL 900 LS behandelde saad vir ure in plastiese sakke in die warm son stoor nie. Stoor in skadu. Moenie behandelde saad vir voer of eet doeleindes gebruik nie. Behandelde saad moet onder geen omstandighede opgeberg word nie, maar moet vernietig word. Toets die plantereenheid vir egalige plantestand voordat ONCOL 900 LS behandelde saad geplant word. Maak planterplate en saadgeute op planter daagliks skoon. Om n optimale plantestand te verseker, word mielieproduseerders aanbeveel om SUMICIDIN 200 EC (Reg. No L 1663) of SUMICIDIN SUPER 50 EC (Reg. No. L 3697) toe te dien (soos aanbeveel) vir snywurmbeheer met planttyd of voor ontkieming. * Verbruikers word gewaarsku dat verskillende faktore die doeltreffendheid van ONCOL 900 LS kan beinvloed, soos bv. saadkwaliteit, plantdiepte, eenvormigheid van saad behandeling, klei-inhoud van grond, oormatige reën direk na of binne die eerste weke na plant, droogte en temperatuur. Bogenoemde faktore kan lei tot n afname in doeltreffendheid en ontkieming van die saad. MIELIES ONCOL 900 LS is 'n nat saadbehandeling, en kan nie afdroog nie. Meng direk voor plant in 'n mengdrom deur die drom verskeie kere te roteer totdat alle saad oranje verkleur het. Vir makliker hantering kan daarna 500 g No. 1 gesifte Mieliemeel by die behandelde saad gevoeg word en deeglik vermeng word. 4

WARNINGS Do not harvest green mealies from plants of which the seed had been treated. Animals should not be allowed to feed on maize plants grown from treated seed within eleven weeks of germination. Treated seed may not be used for human or animal consumption. Handle with extreme care. Poisonous when in contact with the skin, swallowed or inhaled. Toxic to fish, birds, wildlife and bees. Spillage of seed at the end of the planting furrow must be prevented in order to protect wildlife from possible poisoning. Store under lock and key in a cool place. Store away from food and feeds. Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals. FLAMMABLE - keep away from fire and sparks. In case of poisoning, CALL A DOCTOR AND MAKE THIS LABEL AVAILABLE TO HIM. Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as seed quality abnormal climatic and storage conditions; compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of the disease against the remedy concerned as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or animal or for lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier or registration holder in the event of any uncertainty. 6
PRECAUTIONS Avoid any contact with the liquid and inhalation of the fumes. Wear protective clothing, overalls, face shield, rubber gloves and boots when treating seed. Wash with water and soap after use. Do not eat, drink, or smoke during handling or treatment of seed before washing hands and face. Clean mixing apparatus after use. Dispose of wash water where no contamination of dams, rivers, grazing or crops can occur. Bury all treated seed spilled on soil surface. Destroy empty container by perforating and do not use for any other purpose. Prevent contamination of food, feeds, eating utensils and drinking water. Mark bags with treated seed clearly with POISONOUS. SYMPTOMS OF HUMAN POISONING Headache, fatigue, faintness, giddiness, excessive sweating, nausea, abdominal pains, vomiting, diarrhoea, tightness in the chest, anxiety blurred vision, muscle twitching, small pupils, respiratory distress, coma. FIRST AID Remove patient from source of poisoning and keep him quiet and reassured. Remove contaminated clothing and wash contaminated body area thoroughly with plenty of soap and cold water. Do not rub skin vigorously. Flush contamination out of eyes with clean water for 15 minutes. Induce vomiting by tickling the back part of the throat. Continue procedure until vomit fluid is clear and free from smell of poison. TAKE PATIENT IMMEDIATELY TO NEAREST PHYSICIAN. Administer artificial respiration or closed chest cardiac massage if necessary. Do not apply direct mouth to mouth respiration. NEVER GIVE ANYTHING BY MOUTH TO AN UNCONSCIOUS PERSON. 7
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN Administer atropine sulphate intravenously (2-4 mg) every 10 minutes until signs of atropinisation (dry, flushed skin, tachycardia) disappear. Do not combine with oxime prepatations. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use only as indicated ONCOL 900 LS is a wet seed treatment, and cannot dry off. ONCOL 900 LS treated seed may take longer to germinate than untreated seed. Do not plant in dry soils. Soil must be suitable for immediate germination. Abnormal low soil temperatures and dry soil conditions will slow down germination. Soil temperature at planting depth should be above 15 C. Under suboptimal planting conditions (drought or cold) germination of ONCOL 900 LS treated seed, will be affected. The possibility of plant stand reduction should therefore be compensated for by increasing the amount of ONCOL 900 LS treated seed planted/ha: ONCOL 900 LS Increase in kg seed/ha. dosage 500 ml/50 kg seed 5 % (i.e. 0,55 kg 5F seed for 30 000 plants/ha). 750 ml/50 kg seed 15% (i.e. 1,65 kg 5F seed for 30 000 plants/ha). Treat seed only a few hours before planting because seed treated more than one day before planting may cause poor germination. In cases where this is not possible due to planting delay, provision should be made to increase the amount of seed planted by 15% per ha. Low quality or old seed can affect germination performance. Always ensure that seed treated with ONCOL 900 LS is of a high quality. Do not treat more seed than will be planted during one day. Maize seed must be thoroughly mixed with ONCOL 900 LS in a mixing apparatus until all seeds are uniform orange in colour. For ease of handling and planting 0,5 kg of No. 1 sifted Maize Meal can be added thereafter to the 50 kg ONCOL 900 LS treated seed in the drum and mixed before transferral into the seed bins. Do not add talc, graphite, crushed maize, LINDASTOF 200 DS (Reg. No.L 356) or any other substance to ONCOL 900 LS treated seed. Captan treated seed may be treated with ONCOL 900 LS. If Maize Meal is to be added, use only No. 1 sifted Maize Meal. 8
ONCOL 900 LS must not be poured directly onto the seed in the planter bins as this will result in uneven coating of the seed and poor insect control. Never leave ONCOL 900 LS treated seed in plastic bags in the sun. Store in the shade. Do not use treated seed for feed or eating purposes. Treated seed should under no circumstances be stored for later use, but must be destroyed. Test the planter unit for an even stand before the ONCOL 900 LS treated seeds are planted. Planter discs and seed funnels must be cleaned daily. To ensure an optimal stand of maize it is recommended that SUMICIDIN 200 EC (Reg. No. L 1663) or SUMICIDIN SUPER 50 EC (Reg. No. L 3697) be applied (as recommended) at planting or before germination to control cutworm. * Users are cautioned that various factors may influence the efficacy of soil insecticides, as for example: seed quality, uniformity of application, placement depth, soil clay content, excessive rain directly after or within the first weeks of application, dry soil or drought and temperature extremes. Above factors may lead to a decline in efficacy and germination of the seed. MAIZE ONCOL 900 LS is a wet seed treatment. The seed cannot dry off. Mix shortly before planting in a rotating drum until all seeds are uniformly orange. For ease of handling and planting, then add 500 g No. 1 sifted Maize Meal to the ONCOL 900 LS treated seed, and mix thoroughly. Seed planted more than one day prior to planting may not germinate properly. 9
