The large fuel chamber provides a long combus on period. The integrated fan guarantees an unproble ma c start. The fuel chamber door and its bolt do not give way for smoke emission. Mo reover, the combus on is stabilized throughout the whole combus on period by the fan and enables an unproblema c opera on. Even the boiler size with 25kW can comfortably be lled with 0,5m logs through the large fuel chamber door. An overlength of the logs is, at least to some extent, no problem due to the depth of the fuel chamber. Long refueling intervals are the result of the large lling capacity. Solarbayer wood log boiler sets always include stra ca on bu er tanks SPS. This guarantees a fast and e cient heat conduct into your building. Due to the enormous hea ng performance of our boilers the installa on of a bu er tank is inevitable. A bu er tank volume of 55 liter per kw nominal boiler output has to be installed. In order to achieve a perfect e ciency factor we recommend to install a bu er tank volume of 70 to 100 liter per kw nominal boiler output, depending on the space condi ons in your boiler room. The best possible tank for this is our stra ca on bu er tank SPS with integrated stra ca on system SLS. The characteris c aspects of these systems are the long refueling intervals as well as the high e ciency factor. With this you will achieve perfect system e ciency. Calcula ng the boiler size To determine the exact standard building heat requirement a calcula on in accordance with DIN 4701 for hea ng systems must be made. In order to make a quota on for a wood log boiler hea ng system a rough calcula on is adequate. Decisive in choosing a log burner is the ques on how o en a re ll of fuel is required to meet the daily heat requirements. Please note that with solid fuel boilers the speci ed output is guaranteed under the full load only. A er the pre hea ng phase it will take about 30 minutes un l the boiler will operate with its maximum output which will last for approximately 2 hours. Now the burn o period begins. During this period (approx. 1,5 hrs) the boiler already operates with decreased power. The rebed remaining in the combus on chamber will post heat for about an hour. A erwards the combus ble is completely used up. Thus, the boiler can generate the nominal output speci ed for approx. 4 hours. By mul plying the nominal boiler output with the burning period will show the burning down heat output of the boiler. example (with wood log boiler SOLARBAYER 25 E): burning down heat output = 25 kw x 4 h = 100 kwh For the calcula on of the boiler size by means of living space the speci c heat requirement of the building at an outdoor temperature of 16 C is needed. Old building 0,12 Kilowa / m² New building (from 1995) 0,08 Kilowa / m² Low energy house in acc. with EnEV 2002 0,05 Kilowa / m² The hourly heat requirement is calculated by mul plying the speci c heat requirement and the living space of the building. Example of a new building from 1997 with 150 m² living space: heat requirment = 150 m² x 0,08 kw/m² = 12 kw By means of the daily heat requirement and the corresponding burning down heat output of the boiler it can be determined how o en the boiler chosen must be lled with fuel: Our example of the wood log boiler Solarbayer 25 E in a new building with a living space of 150 m² shows how to calculate the number of fuel re lls per day to meet the heat requirements of the building. Thereto, we need to add the daily hot water requirement of approx. 0.25 kw per person per day.
