Combine accumulators AQALX ACKTANK Combine heat sources for cheap heating

Shunt package not included. Store heat in water FTRE-PROOF YOR HEATING SYSTEM! An accumulator tank contains water and its main task is to store energy from one or more heat sources. It is important to choose the correct accumulator tank. To work as economically as possible, the tank must be able to handle the heat sources connected so that the water moves in the right way in the tank, so-called stratification. Aqualux Teknik is optimised to produce optimum stratification with several heat sources connected. ADVANTAGES OF AQALX TEKNIK: COMBINE ENERGY SORCES EFFICIENTLY FLEXIBILITY ALLOWS FOR GOOD ECONOMY THE LOWEST TANKS ON THE MARKET MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO REDCE THE ELECTRICITY REQIRED MAKES WOOD FIRING GREEN AND COMFORTABLE 2

combine heat sources REDCE HEATING COSTS Times are changing and the old methods of heating with STORE HEAT An accumulator can be compared to an energy container that is charged from various heat sources such as solar panels, a heat pump or wood/ pellet firing. oil and direct electricity are being replaced with greener alternatives. Heat pumps have long been popular but the price of electricity is starting to affect their cost too. They still consume electricity, of course. One way of improving costs is to combine a heat pump with solar panels and/or a pellet boiler. For this to work, you need a good accumulator. tried and tested HOW DOES IT WORK? The accumulator tank stores the heat in the water. To work optimally, it is important for the tank to have good stratification ability, i.e. for hot water to rise to the top of the tank. VÄRMEBARONEN'S SOLTIONS Värmebaronen has been making heating products since 1975. Our accumulators have undergone many changes and improvements over the years. In other words, they are tried and tested products with problem-free, long service lives. As we manufacture our products in our own factory in Sweden, we have an overview of all aspects of production and are able to guarantee maximum quality. www.varmebaronen.se Tel. +46 44 22 63 20 3

Possible combinations: WOOD-FIRED BOILER AND SOLAR PANEL Do you fire with wood? You already have the cheapest heating available. However, wouldn't it be nice not to have to think about heating and hot water in the summer? With a solar panel, you and your wood-fired boiler can take a break for a full six months every year! SOLTION WITH AQALX TEKNIK The wood-fired boiler and solar panel are connected to an Aqualux Teknik in a suitable size. If more water volume is required, connect one or more Aqualux B. The Teknik tank ensures that the stratification is optimum. Värmebaronen's accumulators are compact so the ceiling height of the boiler room is no problem. PELLETS AND SOLAR PANEL Do you fire with pellets? Then you have been a winner in the recent extremely cold winters. The price of pellets has been low, while the price of electricity has shot up. A pellet boiler works best when it is cold outside, which is a good reason to use a solar panel during the summer half of the year. SOLTION WITH AQALX TEKNIK The pellet boiler is connected to an Aqualux Teknik of a suitable size. The Teknik tank will ensure that the heat exchange is optimised for both the boiler and the solar panel. Do you have a small boiler room? The tanks in the Aqualux range are some of the lowest on the market and are very compact. 4

Green! HEAT PMP, PELLETS AND SOLAR PANEL To combine three heat sources, you need a really good tank and Aqualux Teknik is the best you can find. The solar panel handles the heat in the summer half of the year, the pellet boiler takes over when it is really cold and the heat pump provides heat for the rest of the time. An optimum solution. SOLTION WITH AQALX TEKNIK All heat sources are connected to Aqualux Teknik. The unique stratification properties ensure that the heat pump, boiler and solar panel can be used at the same time with maximum energy exchange. This is a fairly expensive solution. However, it also saves a lot of money every year. TRADITIONAL WOOD SYSTEM If you are sure that you will only use a single heat source, our Acktank C and B accumulators are excellent choices. These tanks provide sound stratification and are low and compact. They are also very well built! SOLTION WITH SEVERAL TANKS Acktank C has a solid, copper-lined water heater and a total water volume of 500 litres. It can be supplemented with one or more Acktank Bs (B = utan beredare = without heater) if the output of the wood-fired boiler requires this. These tanks are also built in our own factory in Sweden. 5

About stratification In an accumulator tank, it is important for the water to be stratified. From the top of the tank, hot water is fed to the radiators in the house, where it is then cooled. The water is pumped back by means of a circulation pump and is supplied to the tank below the hot layer. Stratification is important as it means that the radiators are able to maintain the same temperature throughout the tank's discharge cycle instead of the water being mixed and gradually getting colder. Stratification also makes it possible to heat hot water for the household. Aqualux Teknik has extremely good stratification properties and therefore provides superior economy. 6

Shunt package not included. Aqualux 500 Teknik Aqualux 750 Teknik Aqualux 1000 Teknik Aqualux Teknik is available in three sizes A GOOD TANK PAVES THE WAY FOR THE FTRE Arranging the heating in a house can be a challenge. It is necessary to think ahead and ensure that you are prepared for the future. With the right accumulator tank, you can connect different heat sources and use them as appropriate. REDCE DEPENDENCE ON ELECTRICITY WITH AQALX TEKNIK Fire with wood or pellets in the winter. In the spring you take a break for 6 months and let the K2 solar panel handle the hot water. If you have a heat pump, you can combine it with a solar panel in the summer and pellets in the winter when the price of electricity has shot up. Everything is possible! Solar panels can be installed in several ways, depending on the type of roof you have. The Värmebaronen K2 is available with ready-made solutions for standard roof types. 8

Heat pump Solar panel K2 Shunt package not included. Wood-fired boiler Pellet system Combine solar, wood, pellets and a heat pump with Aqualux Teknik WOOD FIRING AND AQALX TEKNIK Even if you buy chopped wood, wood firing is by far the cheapest way of heating your home. You need to put some work into this every day during the winter half of the year. With Aqualux Teknik connected to your wood-fired boiler, you can connect a solar panel. Then you don't need to worry about wood from April to October. PELLET FIRING AND AQALX TEKNIK Low prices for pellets have made pellet firers winners. As a pellet firer, you avoid having to worry about high electricity bills and the efficiency of the boiler just increases the colder it gets. There is no risk of freezing. Let the solar panel handle the heat in the summer half of the year. It doesn't get any greener than this! SOLAR PANEL AND AQALX TEKNIK All heat sources can be supplemented with solar panels. During the summer half of the year, they handle all the heat. There is no work or cost involved. The service life of the system to which they are connected is also extended. Solar panels are always a good investment. HEAT PMP AND AQALX TEKNIK When electricity prices shoot up in the winter, heating gets expensive, even with a heat pump. Connect the little Pellmax B pellet boiler and fire with pellets instead. It is much cheaper. You can, of course, also connect solar panels to your heat pump. In some cases, it is possible to 'charge' an undersized bore hole with solar panels during the summer and thus increase the efficiency of the pump. 9

Thermometers Electrical connections Flow control Sound insulation in the casing and top Stratification plates Low ceiling height? No problem. The tanks are low and only 76 cm wide. 160-litre water heater, copper-lined. The height of the heater improves the stratification properties of the tank. How to save money with Aqualux Teknik FLOW RESTRICTORS AND STRATIFICATION PLATES Värmebaronen's Teknik tanks have unique flow restrictors and stratification plates, enabling them to handle several heat sources at the same time without them disturbing the stratification in the tank and thus cancelling each other out. These functions mean that you save even more money on your heating installation. Aqualux Teknik has a built-in solar coil for thermal transfer from solar panels. A generous copper-lined hot water heater ensures that there is always enough hot water. Thanks to the hot water heater, the accumulator tank is also not sensitive to lime. COMPACT DIMENSIONS Aqualux Teknik tanks are some of the very lowest tanks on the market and are only 76 cm wide. BEST ACCMLATOR TANKS ON THE MARKET? We think that Aqualux Teknik tanks are the best accumulator tanks you can choose. Aqualux Teknik is what you need when you connect solar panels to your wood-fired or pellet boiler. The same is true when you supplement your heat pump with solar panels/pellets. CAREFLLY INSLATED The insulation is carefully carried out and fixed in place with a special tool so that it is not pressed together and retains its fluffiness. All joints overlap. At the top there is also Styrofoam insulation. The bottom of the tank is also well insulated. The insulation depth is always at least 90 mm. 10

This is the difference: Aqualux Teknik Aqualux Teknik has 15-20% higher buffer capacity than a good coil tank and produces hot water even when the tank is almost discharged. If you have a solar panel, the tank can cope with several cloudy days. If you fire with wood, this means you have to fire less frequently. The tank is also not sensitive to lime in the water. Tank with hot water coil A coil tank has a poor ability to heat water, which means that the hot water temperature soon falls. The tank requires heat to be supplied more frequently, wood firers have to fire more frequently and if you have solar panels, it must not be cloudy for several days in a row. The coil is sensitive to water containing lime. Aqualux Teknik, solar panel, heat pump Aqualux Teknik has up to 25 times the stratification-retaining properties of a standard tank. This allows a heat pump's COP to be increased from 2.48 to 3.78, which means a 65% increase at a mean outdoor temperature of 2 C. Solar panel output can increase by 60 70% during the winter half of the year. Tank without diffusers and stratification plates If several heat sources are connected to a standard tank without either stratification plates or diffusers, the water supplied from all sources is mixed up and there is no stratification. The result is poorer economy and a poor return on the investment in solar panels and/or a heat pump. 11

12

Connection example As you can see, there are many ways of customising your heating system with Aqualux Teknik. To help simply the planning of the system, we have produced the "Suggested Connections" brochure, which contains various drawings and suggested solutions. When you and your plumber plan how your system is to be designed, you can order this brochure from Värmebaronen. 13

When you need several tanks Aqualux B WITHOT A HEATER IN THREE SIZES If you fire with wood, it is usually not enough to have just one Aqualux Teknik. The output of a wood-fired boiler requires a high volume of water. In this case, it is easy to add one or more Aqualux Bs. These tanks have no flow restrictors, stratification plates or water heaters. This is all located in the Teknik tank. The thermometers for the top, centre and bottom of the tank are co-located so that you do not need to bend down to read them. All sensor connections are easy to access; the service strip can be released with just one screw. A traditional tank in an exclusive design Aqualux 750 C SAME HIGH QALITY AS AQALX TEKNIK Aqualux 750 C is a compact accumulator with a built-in copperlined water heater. This tank has no flow restrictors or stratification plates and is therefore best suited for a single heat source such as a wood-fired boiler, pellet boiler or heat pump. Aqualux 750 C can be connected to one or more Aqualux Bs, if necessary. 14

Acktank 500 C Acktank 500 B 15

Acktank 500 C/B BEST SITED FOR SIMPLE HEATING SYSTEMS Acktank 500 C and Acktank 500 B are suitable for simple systems, for example with a wood-fired boiler. If you want to combine a wood-fired boiler with a solar panel or heat pump, you should take a closer look at our Aqualux Teknik tanks. They have unique solutions for handling several heat sources at once. If you 'just' want high-quality accumulator tanks for a wood-fired boiler, you can't go wrong with Acktank 500 C/B. Acktank 500 B can also be used as an equalisation tank for a heat pump. This is a simple, good solution to achieving longer operating times and fewer starts and stops during the summer half of the year. In this way, the pump has higher efficiency and you save money. SAME INSLATION TECHNIQE Acktank 500 C and Acktank 500 B are insulated using the same technique as we use on our more exclusive tanks. The insulation is fixed to the tank with a special tool, avoiding any risk of it sliding down. Nor is the insulation squeezed together. It retains its fluffiness. This produces higher efficiency and saves money. MANFACTRED IN SWEDEN We manufacture both tanks in the same factory where we build our other products. We have equally high quality requirements for Acktank 500 C and Acktank 500 B as for the rest of the range. 16

Insulation fixings Bottom insulation Advantages of Acktank 500 C/B LOW CEILING HEIGHT? NO PROBLEM! These tanks are some of the lowest on the market. This means that they fit even when the ceiling is low. The height is 1,616 mm + 55 mm, the width is 745 mm and the depth is 770 mm. Lifting height 1,780 mm. CAREFLLY INSLATED To avoid heat loss, the tanks are carefully insulated. It is important for the insulation not to be squeezed together anywhere and for it to remain in place. The insulation is fixed in place with a special tool. As a result, the insulation depth is always 70 mm. SOLID HEATER Acktank 500 C has a solid, copper-lined water heater with a total volume of 120 litres. Thanks to the hot water heater, the accumulator tank is also not sensitive to lime. COMPREHENSIVE QALITY CONTROL The tanks undergo careful quality control and are pressuretested before they leave the Värmebaronen factory. 17

Everything from the same manufacturer peace of mind! WOOD-FIRED BOILERS Värmebaronen has a wide range of wood-fired boilers, all of which work very well with these accumulator tanks. Choose from fan boilers, natural draught boilers and combination boilers with outputs up to 50 kw. With or without water heaters. All boilers can be fired with pellets. Order our wood-firing catalogue! PELLET BOILERS Pellmax is a range of efficient, user-friendly pellet boilers. The smallest boiler in the range, Pellmax B, is best suited for use with solar panels. You connect both the solar panels and the boiler to an Aqualux Teknik and let the solar panels heat the hot water and the house during the summer half of the year. In the winter half of the year, you fire the boiler with pellets and the solar panels help heat the water on sunny days. This solution is recommended by energy consultants and is both economical and green. Order our pellet catalogue! MADE IN SWEDEN 18
