DOMESTIC APPLIANCES INDUSTRY Sealing profiles for refrigerators and freezers REHAU has been manufacturing seals for refrigerators and freezers since the early 1960s and has developed into a leading manufacturer with a worldwide production network. In line with our customers increasing needs, we have continually developped our sealings further. In addition to perfect operation and ease of installation, it is increasingly important to take energy-saving requirements into account when developing refrigerator seals. Here, the seal plays a key role in achieving energy efficiency classes, as it forms the interface between the door and the body of the appliance. Whatever your objective, our development engineers will offer you a solution that is tailor-made for your specific installation situation, using the latest methods, such as thermal and mechanical simulations (FEM), even at the development stage. We offer seals that do not contain plasticisers and are not made of PVC (LOW MIG), particularly for use in the commercial sector. These are characterised by particularly high durability and flexibility even under extreme conditions. Easy to clean and straight surfaces add the finishing touches to the product. Easy-to- Clean 12

We develop custom solutions for a wide range of applications. The materials for these solutions are selected specifically with the respective requirements in mind. Resistance For applications in dishwashers, we adapt coextruded sealing solutions to provide permanent elasticity and resistance to the various media, temperatures and mechanical loads. Protection Specially fabricated profile solutions protect the wiring and provide the necessary flexibility. Insulation Ready-to-install soundproofing strips help to significantly reduce the noise produced by dishwashers. 15
DOMESTIC APPLIANCES INDUSTRY Tubing and oven door gaskets REHAU tubes and pipes meet high quality standards and are adapted to the specific requirements of the domestic appliances industry. For example, special tube geometries mean that the required minimum flow is guaranteed even if the tube is completely kinked. Tubing solutions specially designed for the German Drinking Water Directive meet the demanding material requirements set out in the German regulations for drinking water KTW and in the German Gas and Water Association s Technical Standard W270, as well as ensuring the necessary flexibility for installing washing machines and dishwashers with little space. The design and materials used for our ready-to-install, prefabricated oven door gaskets ensure that they are ideally adapted to the sealing gap, door forces and temperature requirements while also providing top-quality engineering and aesthetics.. For example, film vulcanisation of joints ensures maximum tensile strength at mitre-cut corners. Other options include adhesive tape application, fluorination to reduce sliding friction, or water jet cutting for complex fabrication. RAU-SIK, the polymeric material used, has outstanding properties and is hard to beat, especially in extreme conditions. 17

COOL ENERGY-SAVERS Commercial refrigerators and freezers Within the commercial refrigerator industry, REHAU is a development partner with industry expertise and supplier of sophisticated profile and system solutions. We take account of exacting requirements with customised solutions. Since May 2015, we ve expanded our commitment in the field of commercial cooling. The Danish company Behr A/S now forms part of the REHAU World by way of a majority stake. Behr is one of the leading suppliers of innovative glass cover systems for supermarket appliances. 19

COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS Glass covers for supermarket appliances During the shop s opening hours, open refrigerators and deep freezers consume unnecessary amounts of energy that must then be generated again at high cost. What s more, closed systems result in a notable improvement in food quality and a reduced formation of bacteria. Rising energy costs and climate protection concerns therefore result in a trend towards fitting open appliances with glass cover systems. However, the glass covers must be attractively designed so that they do not form a barrier between buyer and product. With this in mind, REHAU supports well-known system providers with intelligent profile and sealing systems that combine a high level of functionality with an appealing design and good energy efficiency while also providing the maximum display area. REHAU BRANCHES ALL OVER THE GLOBE Close to the customer Rehau In 1948 this became the location of our main headquarters and has been the largest location of the company group ever since. More than 2,000 employees work for REHAU here. Vancouver is the company group s westernmost location. Here, one can find a sales office that is some 30 flying hours from the easternmost branch, the sales office in Chabarovsk, Russia. Cullman Systems for the automotive industry and products for underfloor heating and potable water supply come from the REHAU plant in Alabama. Celaya A good 250 kilometers from Mexico City is Celaya, the third largest city in the state of Guanajuato and home to a REHAU plant, administration and sales office since 1993. Here, more than 250 employees produce polymer profiles for the automotive, appliance and furniture industries of North and South America. Buenos Aires is the political, industrial and cultural heart of Argentina. Since 1994 there has been a sales office there with a production facility attached for edgebands as well as the fabrication of window profiles. Montreal In 1961 REHAU opened its first plant on the North American continent. Leesburg The REHAU headquarters for the Americas has had its home in the state of Virginia since 1979. Ross on Wye Since 1995, REHAU s administration for the regions of Great Britain and Scandinavia has been located in Ross-on-Wye, south of Birmingham. The historical manor house is known by the name Hill Court far beyond the borders of the county of Herefordshire. Morhange An over 12,000 square meter former military base is home to the administrative headquarters for France and Western Europe. The location has some 300 employees. Muri Since the 1960s Muri near Bern has been the location for the administrative center of the REHAU Group. It is also home to the group s headquarters for global material handling and logistics. Erlangen At the administrative headquarters of the REHAU Construction Division visitors can find the company s own innovation center as well as the REHAU Construction Academy. Neulengbach near Vienna REHAU founded its first foreign plant in 1956. Györ The Hungarian production location is the most recent addition to the company s books. From 2013 onwards products for the automotive manufacturer AUDI will be produced here. 30
REHAU WORLDWIDE REHAU has offices at more than 170 locations all around the world. At the beginning of this success story, in the early 50s, there were a grand total of just three locations in Germany and Austria. Gshel Since 2005, REHAU has been producing window profiles in this town near Moscow for the Russian market, in which our company has become the market leader within just a few years. Taicang This REHAU plant in China is 48 kilometers northwest of Shanghai. Here, production mainly includes window profiles and edgebands for the furniture industry. REHAU is represented at a total of eight Chinese locations. Dubai Sales and distribution activities for the Middle East are managed from our location in the United Arab Emirates. Pune The Indian plant location and the two sales offices in Mumbai and Bangalore give us access to one of the most populous countries in the world. Singapore The smallest island state in Southeast Asia has been the location for REHAU s headquarters for Asia and Australia since 1997. Jakarta REHAU location in the Indonesian metropolis that will become a megacity by 2015. Port Elizabeth In 2009 REHAU opened its southernmost plant on the African continent. Here and in the Fort Jackson plant located a good 280 kilometers away, system components used in vehicles on the Asian and American markets are manufactured for the VW Group and Daimler.
