Heat exchanger cleaning JetMaster Deep cleansing with a special nozzle Cleaning of fins Fin heat exchangers can be found in a variety of fields and are important components, such as for the engine cooling for cold stores and for air conditioning systems. They are the most used energy transmission systems. The part of the worldwide overall energy use is considerable and amounts to about 20%. Moreover, in the developing countries the energy demand for air conditioning is increasing by 7% every year. This increase shall last at least until 2050 according to the forecasts. An increase in efficiency of the systems by only 5% would therefore be of high importance worldwide. Fin heat exchangers quite often get soiled by sand, dust, pollen and other suspended solids in the environment. The soiling forms an insulating layer. This considerably reduces the energy efficiency. Thus the energy cost rapidly increases by 10 20% and more. In addition, the corrosion resulting from the soiling would reduce the service life of the devices. The cleaning of fin heat exchangers is often performed using chemicals (spraying processes) up to now. In addition or afterwards often compressed air will be used. The cleaning success of this procedure is often not satisfactory and in addition, it is harm - ful for the environment and for the employees. Another way would be the use of high pressure cleaning appara - tuses, which are in this case operated with relatively low pressure and by adding chemical cleaning agents. However, the dense water jet might quite rapidly twist the fragile fins, in particular if the water jet hits diagonally on the fins. In case of large basic depths the dense water jet cannotcompletely penetrate the fin heat exchanger. The front part will be clean but not all inner surfaces. Even with the multiple amount of water required during our procedure JetMaster, it would be still loaded with cleaning agents harmful to the environment.

Cleaning of stucco Before After The new procedure JetMaster has been developed in cooperation with a university and offers considerable advantages regarding the success of cleaning, costs of cleaning and environmental friendliness. JetMaster works only with compressed air and little amount of normal water (drinking water). The water is mechanically pre-treated in the apparatus and can then be conveyed in the compressed air stream in a special design. The required amount of water depends on the operation purpose and amounts to 12 50 litres per operating hour depending on the used jet nozzle. The high cleansing strength is mainly based on the cavitation effect when the jet hits the surface to be cleaned. This cleansing strength removes even oil and grease without any additives. Applications are mainly in the field of cleaning sensitive surfaces such as fin heat exchangers. The JetMaster can also be used to clean solar panels, rotor wings, wind turbines or glass cleaning and other facades. Since the JetMaster works only with compressed air using little amounts of water - oil free compressors or standard compressors with fine filter attachments are used - the procedure can also be used at sensitive places without environmental impact. JetMaster works mostly in the low pressure range of 2 6 bars. Consequences on the environment Only air and pure water without chemicals will be used for cleaning. Only the operation of a compressed air compressor has consequences on the environment. Energy consumption The energy consumption for air conditioning systems, cooling systems and engine radiators has been considerably reduced. The energy input for the cleaning procedure JetMaster is well below the energy amount saved by the cleaning process. Protection of water resources Since only very little amounts of water are used to operate the Jet - Master about 12 50 litres of water per hour depending on the required power and attachment nozzle the JetMaster contributes in large measure to protect the water resources. Occupational safety The procedure cannot cause any injuries even if the jet directly hits on the skin. Since only compressed air and pure water without chemicals have been used, there is no damage to the respiratory tract caused by operating the appliance. Maintaining the service life of the appliances The cleaning procedure is used in the preventive maintenance. The service life of the appliances will be increased by gentle cleaning since the cleaning prevents from corrosion and other possible damages. The cleaning effect is mostly limited to the range of the nozzle. The procedure can be used in a closed circuit with filtering. From experience, the thorough cleaning by using TubeMaster and in particular the additional possible polishing of inner tube surfaces results in a considerably improved temperature exchange and thus considerable reduction of the energy cost. With a polished surface, the operating hours until the next cleaning will be also prolonged from experience. By using water, sulphuric acid will form and would then remain in the tubes during the later process sequence and result in destruction of the tubes. However, the dry cleaning with brushes or pigs will not be always successful. The TubeMaster also easily removes persistent incrustations from the tubes in this area. The main use of the TubeMaster is in the field of tube bundle heat exchangers. Shortly before the escape, the granulate will be wetted with a little amount of water (0.2 max.1 litre), in order to increase the kinetic energy when the jet hits the object.
