Driven by passion, thanks to you the creation continues. Always pushing the limits. André Bousquet
A visionary man Originally from Aveyron, André BOUSQUET left home to set up an electrical installation company in Paris. Once on site he realised that the available electrical fittings lacked beauty. In 1995, and now unconditionally in love with Paris, he decided to start making high-quality switches and sockets. He had to choose a name for his new company and so opted for MELJAC, the name of his home town which he remembered with love. Inspired by the classic style of the '30s, symbolised by the drop-shaped toggle switch, André BOUSQUET began to create the aesthetically flawless brass fittings which remain his signature today. Their unique, sensual and seductive appearance highlights elegant interiors and harmonises with any decorative style. Bringing together utility, beauty and quality crraftsmanship, his innovative and attractive products have continue to attract the top architects, interior designers and private individuals. André BOUSQUET is a visionary and an innovator whose constant development and new product ideas, along with his expansion into international markets starting with Switzerland in 1997, has pushed his company to the top. Today the company has more than 60 employees and each one of them is important to André BOUSQUET who has remained true to his original values. He has been able to develop a family company, where it is a pleasure to work, into a marketplace leader. 1
Made in France In 2012 MELJAC was granted the OFG label ("Guaranteed French Origin") for all brass items and lights. This label, which guarantees that at least 50% of the products are made in France, is a confirmation of the high quality of MELJAC products. This is something that is particularly important to the company as the production of nearly all the range is well above that percentage. 2
Production workshops Since 2009 MELJAC has 2 ateliers in the Parisian region where all stages of production are controlled. It requires mainly high precision tools and irreplaceable hand craftsmanship. Most of MELJAC fittings are made in brass but other materials are also used, such as glass, aluminium, bronze, copper or steel. The creation of a product requires time, close attention and care. MELJAC goes to great lengths to ensure that each creation is worthy of the name, MELJAC. 3
