8. Recent Correspondence. [Attachment A6] 9. Other Old Business. 10. New Business. Erratum for Table 14.5.2: reference should be to 9.16, not 9.15. Errata for 12.3.1 and 12.3.2: references should be to Section 12.8, not 12.6 Erratum for 16.5.1.10 Layout C: one line of in-rack sprinklers at every storage level above the floor except over the top level of storage Erratum for Table 16.5.2.3: Notes (5), (6), and (7) should be deleted; they do not apply to this Table. Erratum for Table 16.5.2.12 / D.2(1): Reference to Test S61 is not valid. 9.1.4(3) and 10.1.3(3) need to be amended to apply only to alcoholic beverages of 100 proof or less. This covers a gap between NFPA 13, which specifically does not apply beyond 100 proof, and NFPA 30. Conflict between 9.6.1 and 12.8.3. Should the dagger footnote in Table 12.6.1.1 apply to all entries in the table? Would a walk-in freezer that stores flammable liquids be considered a liquid storage room per 12.6.1? Table 12.6.2.2: delete maximum total quantity columns no longer used. Review 13.3.1 and 13.3.2: clarification is needed. Section 16.3: should there be a provision for sloped ceilings? These will be submitted to the NFPA Standards Council for approval at the end of this document revision cycle. Membership Status. The Staff Liaison reported on recent changes to committee membership and on the balance of interests on the committee. Document Revision Schedule for NFPA 30-2012. The Staff Liaison reviewed the upcoming deadlines in the revision schedule for NFPA 30-2012. 5. The Technical Committee reviewed and acted on all proposals submitted to it to amend NFPA 30 and developed Committee Proposals where it was deemed necessary. The Technical Committee directed the Staff Liaison to prepare and circulate the letter ballot for the committee s Report on Proposals (ROP) for the 2012 edition of NFPA 30. 6 There was no recent correspondence requiring the Technical Committee s attention. 7. There was no other old business requiring the Technical Committee s attention. 8. The Technical Committee reviewed items of new business and took the following actions: Questions Related to Flammable Liquids Storage Cabinets. The Technical Committee determined that Material Safety Data Sheets can be stored in or attached to the cabinet, as long as the cabinet is not modified in any way, e.g., such as drilling holes. The Technical Committee asked Glen Carter to develop appropriate Committee Proposals for the February 2010 meeting.

Questions Related to Fire Protection Design Criteria in NFPA 30, Chapter 16. The Technical Committee reviewed several questions related to Chapter 16 of NFPA 30. Where necessary, appropriate Committee Proposals were developed. The Technical Committee decided to defer to the next document revision cycle the following issues: - Should Chapter 16 specify a minimum slope for floor drainage? - Section 12.8 of NFPA 30 sets limits on Class I and II liquids in plastic containers in general purpose warehouses. No limit is specified for Class III liquids in plastic containers. NFPA 30, 9.6.2.2 can be interpreted as allowing 180 gallons of a Class IA liquid. This needs to be remedied. 9. The Technical Committee agreed to hold its Report on Comments (ROC) meeting as determined by the Technical Correlating Committee. 10. The meetings adjourned at the times noted above.

NFPA 30 Technical Committee on Storage and Warehousing of Containers and Portable Tanks This Committee shall have primary responsibility for documents or portions of documents on safeguarding against the fire and explosion hazards associated with the storage, warehousing, and display merchandising of flammable and combustible liquids in containers whose capacity does not exceed 450 L (109 gallons), portable tanks whose capacity does not exceed 2500 L (660 gallons), and intermediate bulk containers whose capacity does not exceed 3000 L (793 gallons). Responsible for Chapters 9 through 16 and Annexes D and E of NFPA 30, Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code.
