PETROLEUM & ITS PRODUCTS FLOW CUPS IS : 3944 For determining the efflux time of paint, varnishes, lacquers and other viscous products by a simple empirical test. It consists of a container with a stainless steel orifice through which the sample flows. A skirt is provided to safeguard the stainless steel orifice. HF56.30 Redwood Viscometer No.1 (Gas Heated) I P 70/62 For determining the viscosity of oils and waxy fuel oils as a time of flow in seconds. The No.1 Viscometer, is for oils having flow times in 30-2000 seconds range. The apparatus consists of silver plated oil cup provided with a cover. The oil cup has a precise stainless steel jet which can be closed by silver plated metal ball valve. A cylindrical copper water bath is fitted with a heating tube and a drain cock. The bath is mounted on a stand with levelling screws. Complete with a spirit level, a collar for thermometer, a stirrer with insulated handle and a 50 ml. Flask. HF56.35 Redwood Viscometer No.1 (Electrically Heated) Same as HF56.30 but the side tube is replaced with a heating element. A variable auto transformer is also provided. Suitable for operation on 220 volts, 50 Hz, single HF 56.35 HF56.40 Redwood Viscometer No. II (Gas Heated) 1 P 70/62 This Viscometer is for oils whose flow time exceeds 2000 seconds and is suitable for use at temperatures upto 260 0 C. The apparatus has a silver plated brass cup with a cover and its base is prolonged as a brass tube. A cylidrical copper water bath which is fitted with two heating tubes and a drain cock is mounted on a stand with levelling screws. HF58.05 Cleveland Flash (Open) & Fire Point Apparatus (Electrically Heated) IS : 1448 P:69 ASTM D-92 and IP36/63 For determining the flash & fire points of petroleum products except oils and products having an open cup flash below 175 0 F. It has a Cleveland flash-cup in brass with an insulated handle, a metal heating plate with a circular opening covered by asbestos board, an electric heater with energy regulator, and a gas test jet assembly. Suitable for operation on 220V, 50 Hz, Single Phase supply. HF58.10.1 Cleveland Apparatus Thermometer Thermometer IP 28 0 C. Range -6 0 to +400 0 C for use with Cleveland Flash & Fire Point apparatus HF58.15 HF 58.05 Abel Flash Point Apparatus (Gas Heated) IS : 101, 1448 (P:20) For determining the closed cup flash point of petroleum products & mixtures and other liquids having flash point within 19 0-49 0 C temperature range. Oil cup consisting of a cylindrical vessel open at the top and fitted on the outside with a flat circular flange projecting at right angles. Within the cup there is a gauge consisting of a piece of wire bent upwards and terminating in a point. The cup is provided with a close fitting cover. HF58.20 Abel Flash Point Apparatus (Electrically Heated) Same as HF58.15 but supplied with a hot plate and a regulator. Suitable for operation on 220 V, 50 Hz, single HF58.25 Abel Flash Point Apparatus Thermometers These are thermometers used in Abel Flash Point apparatus and are as follows HF58.25.1 Oil Cup Thermometer(10 0-65 0 C) HF58.25.2 Water Bath Thermometer (38 0-68 0 C) HF58.30 Pensky Martens Flash Point (Closed) Tester (Gas Heated) IS: 1448 (Part 1) 1209, IP 34/58, ASTM D-93 For determining flash point of petroleum products (Above 49 0 C flash point range) It has a brass coil cup fitted with a heat resistance handle. The cup is provided with a lid which includes stirring device, a cover, shutter and a flame explosive device. The shutter is operated by a spring handle. A flexible shaft is provided in the hand operated stirrer. A Cast Iron stove is fitted with a metal top plate mounted on an upright member (Gas Manifold) and it feeds a needle valve controlled burner. B-3 HF58.35 Pensky Martens Flash Point (Closed) Tester (Electrically Operated) Same as HF58.30 but supplied with a hot plate instead of the Gas Burner. The energy regulator controls the heating. Suitable for operation on 220 V, 50 Hz, Single HF 58.35

HF58.40 Open Clip IS : 1448, 1209, P : 66 and IP 35/63 For determining the open Flash and fire point of petroleum products. It is a clip with gas jet which can be fitted on the upper rim of the oil cup. HF58.45 Pensky Martens Tester Thermometers These are thermometers used in Pensky Martens Flash Point Test. Cat. HF58.50 Conradson Carbon Residue Apparatus (Gas Heated) IP : 13/66 ASTM D 189 For evaluation of Carbon Residue, when an oil is evaporated under specified conditions. HF58.65 Cloud and Pour Point Apparatus Thermometers These thermometers are used in cloud and pour point tests. Cat.No. Type Range HF58.65.1 IP 1 C -38 O C to + 50 0 C. HF58.65.2 IP 2 C -80 O C to + 20 0 C HF58.70 Smoke Point Apparatus IS : 1448 (P :12), IP 57/55 Used for evaluating kerosene oil in respect of its ability to burn without producing smoke. The apparatus consists of a smoke point lamp with a wick tube, an air vent, a wick guide with air inlets, a lamp body and a chimney. A 50 mm scale is provided with the lamp, the zero of scale being level with the top of wick guide. Arrangement is provided for raising or lowering the oil container of the lamp. Complete in a wooden case. It consists of three crucibles as follows a) A porcelain crucible (b) skidmore pattern iron crucible with cover and (c) A sheet iron crucible with cover. Supplied complete with an Insulator block, a sheet iron hood, two glass balls and an iron tripod. HF58.60 Cloud and Pour Point Apparatus IS : 1448 (P:10), IP:15/60, ASTM D-29 For determining the cloud point of an oil provided it is transparent in layer 40 mm in thickness and for the pour point of any petroleum oil. It consists of a cylindrical glass jar fitted with a cork, a water tight cylindrical jacket with a disc of cork or felt at the bottom, a ring around the glass jar and a bath with cover. B-4

GREASE, ASPHALT TAR & BITUMEN TESTING HF60.05 Drop point of Grease Apparatus (Gas Heated) IP : 31/57, BS 894-1956 For determining the drop point of greases i.e. the temperature at which the grease under goes transition from the solid or semi-solid state to liquid state. It consists of a brass cup 7.5 mm internal dia at wider end, a metal case and cylindrical metal sleeve, a glass boiling tube, beaker, stirrer and 7 mm dia steel ball. HF60.10 Drop point of Grease Apparatus (Electrically Heated) Same as HF60.05 but supplied with an electric heater and stirrer. Suitable for operation on 220 V, 50 Hz, single HF60.15 Thermometers for Drop Point of Grease Apparatus These are thermometers used in drop point of grease tests. Bitumen, tar, wax, food stuffs, rubber, cement, asphalt and pharmaceutical creams, etc. It has a base with levelling screws on which a vertical pillar is mounted. A head together with dial, plunger rod & cone (or needle) slides on the pillar and can be clamped at any desired height. A rack, pinion and pointer assembly provides fine adjustment to the needle and the slipping clutch mechanism enables accurate measurements of penetration. The dial is B-5 HF 60.30 graduated in 40 x 0.1 mm divisions. Easy reading is made possible by using a red needle against black graduated figures. HB64.50 Benkelman Beam For determining the deflection of flexible pavements under the action of moving loads. The apparatus consists of a 365 cm long aluminium beam in two halves arranged to give the lever arm ratio of 2:1. Provision is made for levelling the apparatus. An anvil and a probe are fixed in opposite directions on the beam. A buzzer is provided for removing friction in the bearings. For movement of the assembled beam to different test points on the same pavement and clamping, spring loaded clamp is provided.
