Variante Introduction The copact highly efficient enson Variante heaters provide cost effective heating for ost coercial and industrial buildings, such as showroos, factories, workshops, warehouses, greenhouses etc. Using wall or roof ountings, the heaters are available for either roo sealed or conventional power flue applications. Options Top ounted spigots (VR) High/Low gas value 0-10v burner odulation ownflow heads Mixing box c/w dapers Wall brackets Stainless steel heat exchanger Model Range The Variante gas fired units are available with heat outputs ranging fro 12kW-144kW for use on natural gas (G20), or propane (G31) ir istribution VR heaters are fitted with high efficiency axial fans and discharge war air through an outlet grille coplete with adjustable horizontal louvres. VR heaters discharge war air in two opposing directions potentially enhancing distribution whilst reducing capital and installation costs for certain applications. VR heaters are downward discharging units that can provide both heating and de-stratification. heaters are designed for ducted applications and are fitted with a centrifugal fan(s) and have a duct spigot outlet. Louvres and downflow can be supplied as an option. This sybol verifies that the product has been independently assessed and currently qualifies for the schee, an up-front tax relief enabling businesses that invest in energy-saving equipent to clai % first-year capital allowances against their taxable profits. ir rotation therostat VR ownflow discharge unit VR Horizontal discharge unit VR i-directional unit

Stainless steel heat exchanger tubes are available as an option. urner Variante heaters are fitted with a quiet ulti-flae, in-shot burner coplete with autoatic electronic spark ignition and ionisation flae proving. On/off control is standard, optional high/low or odulation can be specified for greater energy efficiency and close environental control. lectric Motors ll electric otors coply with otor directive 5// fficiency ach heater within the range has been designed and developed with fuel efficiency in ind and efficiencies exceed the andatory requireents of legislation. ll heater efficiencies are copliant with the needs of Part L2 of the 2010 uilding Regulations and have been rated to eet the current criteria necessary for inclusion into the nhanced apital llowance () schee. uel Heaters can be specified to operate on either natural gas (G20) or LPG (Propane G31). Sealed obustion ircuit Variante heaters are factory fitted with a power flue venter that enables the heater to be operated in either roo sealed or fan assisted flue ode. The flue fan is safety interlocked with the burner control syste via a pressure differential sensor. ir istribution The VR, VR and VR odels are fitted with a dynaically balanced aerofoil type axial fan(s) which discharges warth directly into the space via adjustable horizontal louvres. Heaters for ducted applications, type, are supplied with a centrifugal fan and outlet duct connection spigot. Testing, pprovals and ertification Testing, pprovals & ertification: enson Heating is accredited with ISO 9001 quality assurance certification. ll gas fired heaters have been type tested and approved to standards by an independent notified body. ach heater is tested and fired prior to despatch. coplete with centrifugal fan and duct spigot outlet for use with ductwork
Installation Installation Standards enson Variante gas fired unit heaters ust be installed and coissioned by a copetent person and in accordance with the installation and coissioning instructions, relevant local and national standards, odes of Practice, and any requireents of Local uthorities, ire Officer or insurers. Siting enson Variante gas unit heaters can be positioned on flat non-cobustible surface, located on or fixed to cantilever brackets or suspended by eans of the M10 fixings. It is recoended that for the cantilever bracket or suspended applications that the anufacturer s purpose designed brackets be used. are should always be taken to ensure that bracket fixings or other ounting points are structurally adequate. Recoended iniu and axiu ounting heights, clearances for aintenance, air discharge, return and re-circulation should be observed. onsideration should be given to the route and axiu peritted length of the flue, the provision and connection of gas and electrical supplies and protection fro overhead cranes, fork lift trucks etc. Plant Roo/nclosure Siting Where it is proposed to install a Variante (centrifugal fan) heater within a plant roo or enclosure then return air and discharge air arrangeents ust be such that they do not interfere with the operation of the flue or burner. The war air discharge and return air should be positively ducted to and fro the heater. Gas Pipework The gas supply pipework should be sized and installed with due regard for all relevant standards and legislation, flow rates and the axiu/iniu inlet pressure requireents of the heater. Isolating gas cocks and service unions should be provided adjacent to each heater. It is recoended that the final connection to all Variante gas unit heaters be ade with an approved and adequately sized flexible gas connector. ir Supply Where heaters are installed directly within the heated space and (ie not in a plant roo or enclosure) then cobustion air or heater related ventilation air will generally not be required if the heater is installed in roo sealed ode (ie with the positive connection of both flue and cobustion air ductwork) or if the air change rate of the heated space is 0.5 air changes per hour or greater. If it is proposed to install a heater in flue only ode (ie without the positive connection of cobustion air ductwork) and the heated space has an air change rate of less than 0.5 air changes per hour then it will be necessary to provide either natural ventilation openings or echanical ventilation. Where heaters are installed within a plant roo or enclosure then provision for both cobustion air and air for general ventilation will be required by eans of high and low level ventilation openings. lternatively, the plant roos or enclosures ay be echanically ventilated. lue Variante heaters are approved for use in both roo sealed and fan assisted flue forat. The in-built flue fan perits the heater to be sited several etres away fro the point of flue exit. The units ay be flued either through the wall or roof. alanced flue odels ust be used with the wall or roof balanced flue outlet supplied by enson to coply with certification. The axiu peritted lengths given in the data table ust be observed. The inclusion of 45 and 90 flue bends will reduce the total available length, a 45 bend is equivalent to 0.5 etres of straight flue and 90 bend is equivalent to 1.0 etres of straight flue. The flue route and exit point needs to be selected carefully and it is recoended that the installer consult the installation and coissioning instructions before coencing installation. On VR and odels the flue/cobustion air spigots are situated on the rear of the heater. Top flue/cobustion air spigots are available as an option on ost odels. Special Risk reas Where it is proposed to install a heater within a special risk area (including but not liited to areas containing flaable vapours, where petrol engined vehicles are stored, parked or serviced, where paint spraying occurs or where wood working or other flaable dust creating process are eployed) then restrictions, additional regulations and requireents concerning the heater installation ay apply. dditionally areas containing chlorinated or halogenated hydrocarbons, degreasing solvents, styrene s, other lainating aterials or airborne silicones can cause corrosion to heat exchangers and It is strongly recoended that you consult enson at the design stage. ailure to do so ay invalidate guarantee cover.
