Sugar Photoelectric detection on a conveyor belt Position measurement in a cane sugar mill Level detection in a cane sugar mill via IO-Link The O1D photoelectric sensor detects the sugar cane on the conveyor. Thanks to the photoelectric distance detection of a range of up to 10 m the sensor does not need to be installed directly at the conveyor belt. The O1D is used wherever distances or levels have to be detected. The O1D photoelectric distance sensor detects the vertical roller position in a sugar mill. It is easy to install and has two switching outputs, one of which can be configured alternatively as analogue output. The vertical roller position in a sugar mill is usually detected via position transmitters. They detect the target value which is needed to control the water quantity, for example. The position transmitters do not detect the position reliably, however, and in addition they have a high purchase price. IO-Link is a fieldbus-independent point-to-point connection. Via IO-Link, digital, reliable and loss-free transmission of the parameters is ensured. The signal transfer from the sensor to the controller is possible without any problem. For the transfer of an analogue signal to the PLC several conversions from analogue to digital and vice versa are necessary. Type KI capacitive sensors detect the level in a cane sugar mill through a non-metal tank wall. Pneumatic valve actuators are normally used for mechanical positioning. The valve position must be monitored electronically. The T5 range contains two inductive sensors for open / close detection of an actuator movement by means of target pucks. The digital output controls the solenoid valve of the pneumatic valve actuator. 4 3 A constant oil pressure in the hydraulics of the gearbox and the bearing is decisive for the functioning of the machine. PN series pressure sensors are used to monitor the hydraulic pressure. These pressure sensors have been designed especially for these applications.
