Designed for planting in basins that are flooded for 24 48 hours and then drain out, the species in this mix are particularly well adapted to loamy and clay soils. For detention basins in sandy soils, we have a Tall Prairie for Dry Soils Seed Mix. Specifically designed to provide rapid vegetative cover and long-term soil stabilization, with 50% more grass. Annual Rye nurse crop is included for rapid green-up. Erosion Control Seed Mixes provide quick cover in combination with deeprooted perennials to hold the soil for decades. The Land Restoration Mixes have a slightly lower ratio of flowers to grasses than our other prairie mixes. An excellent choice for less visible areas, or for covering larger acreage on a budget. With a prairie lifespan of 50 years or more, this mix costs less than $20 a year per acre. PRESORTED STANDARD U.S. POSTAGE PAID PRAIRIE NURSERY INC PO Box 306, Westfield, WI 53964 OR CURRENT RESIDENT PROVEN since 1994 S U CC E SS F U L Forms an irresistibly soft flowing carpet of grass. Reduces mowing to once or twice a year, or never! No Mow requires little to no watering and no fertilization, once established. The root system of an established lawn chokes out weed growth. Withstands moderate foot traffic. Thrives in full sun or part shade in a variety of conditions from sand to well-drained clay. No Mow Lawn Seed Mix With minimal watering, mowing and fertilizing you ll reap the benefits of reduced maintenance, lower costs and a healthier environment. No Mow Lawn Seed Mix is a low maintenance, drought tolerant choice for landscapes large or small. No Mow Lawn establishes quickly and thrives in most soil types and light conditions. An established No Mow Lawn forms a beautiful flowing carpet of grass that can be mowed occasionally, or left unmowed. No Mow is a blend of six slow-growing fine fescues that grows well in sun or partial shade. It does best on sandy or loamy soils, or on welldrained clay soils with at least four inches of good, loose topsoil. It is not recommended for wet soils, deep shade, compacted soils, or poorly drained heavy clay. Creeping fescue roots interlock with bunch-forming fescue roots to form a dense sod that withstands moderate foot traffic and invasion from weeds, once established. The deep root systems enhance droughtresistance by reducing water loss and reaching deeper water reserves. For best results No Mow should be planted from late August through late September. In more southerly areas, seeding can be extended into late October. Seeding in March through mid-may is a good second choice to early fall seeding. Mow at a height of 4 to 5 inches once a year when the seedheads appear, if desired usually in June. For a more manicured look, mow once a month or so, at a minimum height of 3.5 to 4 inches. Pricing & Seeding Rates No Mow seeding rate is 5 lbs per 1,000 sq ft, and 220 lbs per acre Amount #50091 by weight No Mow #50092 No Mow w/annual Rye 5-19 lbs $6.95 $6.95 20-49 lbs $5.95 $5.95 50-199 lbs $4.95 $4.95 200-499 lbs $4.25 $4.25 500-1,000 lbs $3.95 $3.95 Minimum order is 5 lbs.
