ST. MARK S FLOWER/ PLANT SALE Vegetable and Herb selections 2015 Vegetables: Cucumber Salad Bush Space saving variety that produces dark green, 8 fruit. It can be grown in the garden or in containers; good disease resistance. 57 days to harvest Eggplant Fairytale Compact plants are good for containers or small space gardens; dark purple and white striped baby finger length fruits that can be harvested at 4. Nearly seedless. Harvest 50 days from transplant. Pepper Corno di Toro (Horn of the Bull) An Italian heirloom stuffing pepper. Sweet and crisp flavor. 65 days from transplant for green; 75 days for red. Pepper Poblano mildly hot/sweet pepper that turns dark red when ripe. Traditionally used for Chiles Rellenos. Harvest about 65 days after transplant. Pepper Yum Yum mini yellow bell pepper with sweet taste. Strong, stout plants produce lots of 1 x 21/2 elongated fruits. Harvest at 60 days for green, 80 days for yellow. Tomato Amish Paste Heirloom type from Wisconsin via the Pennsylvania Amish. Excellent yields of 6 8 oz fruit; good for gardens or containers. Classic meaty tomato for making sauces and canning. Harvest at 74 days after transplant. Indeterminate. Tomato Black Krim Heirloom type from Crimean and Black Sea area. Heavy producer of 10 12 oz beefsteak type fruits. Unusual mahogany purple skin that darkens to near black in hot weather. Maturity at 75 90 days. Indeterminate. Tomato Patio Dwarf type; excellent for containers and small gardens. No need for a cage though a short stake is helpful. Produces 3 4 oz fruit after 70 days from transplant. Determinate. Tomato Sun Gold Cherry type tomato with large clusters of golden orange fruit; sweet tart flavor. 65 days to maturity from transplant. Indeterminate. Wisconsin 55 Heirloom type bred by UW Madison in 1940 for Wisconsin s short season. Good, allpurpose variety with smooth 8 oz fruits of great flavor and sweetness. Considered the best tomato for Wisconsin. 78 days to maturity. Indeterminate. Herbs: Basil Genovese classic basil for pesto and other cooking. Coriander/Cilantro used in Mexican and Asian cooking Parsley, curled excellent for cooking and as a garnish Rosemary classic culinary herb Thyme, English used for bouquet garni and herbes de Provence 8
