GROUND REINFORCEMENT Turf Reinforcement Mesh Applications Overspill car parks Caravan parks Recreation areas Lawns subject to heavy pedestrian use Pathways Parking areas and taxiways for light aircraft PREVENTS THIS Tenax Turf Reinforcement Mesh is a tough extruded polymer grid for the permanent reinforcement of grassed areas used by vehicles and pedestrians. For best results the mesh should be laid down in spring when the grass will grow quickly through the mesh and the root mass will interlock with the mesh filaments. The protected area will soon resume its natural appearance, providing a stable surface which will withstand the weight of lightweight vehicles and heavy pedestrian use. Where a wide area is to be protected the mesh should be overlapped and the layers held down with metal U-Pins or J-Pins. TENAX Turf Reinforcement Mesh uses its strength to disperse the weight placed upon it thus creating a more stable platform. Secure Turf Reinforcement Mesh to the ground with metal U-Pins or J-Pins. GROUND REINFORCEMENT Grass Protection Mesh PREVENTS THIS Tenax Grass Protection Mesh will help to alleviate the concerns of organisers of outdoor events about damage to grassed areas. TENAX Grass Protection Mesh is a heavy duty polymer grid for protecting and reinforcing grassed areas to be used by vehicles with an imposed loading of up to 8 tonnes per axle. Grass Protection Mesh will permanently protect the grass roots from damage and help prevent rutting. For temporary applications Grass Protection Mesh is simply rolled out and pinned down for immediate use. Secure Grass Protection Mesh to the ground with metal U-Pins or J-Pins. GROUND REINFORCEMENT GrassTrack TENAX GrassTrack is a heavy duty polymer grid with a high strength geo-textile bonded to the mesh which provides a dual function in grassed areas which are particularly wet and muddy. With the geo-textile laid to the ground and the mesh on top, GrassTrack can be rolled out over the problem area to allow access by cars and lightweight vans. With the geo-textile to the top, GrassTrack then provides a safe and clean access by pedestrians. In both cases the membrane prevents mud from permeating through the mesh. Without this protection, the constant traffic would create a pumping action which brings mud to the surface. UV stabilised, rot-proof and chemical resistant, TENAX GrassTrack is suitable for all outdoor events including shows, exhibitions, concerts and private functions and can be reused time and time again. GROUND REINFORCEMENT GridLock In areas that require the high load bearing capacity of asphalt, TENAX GridLock offers a soft landscaping solution to hard landscaping problems. In addition it is both economically viable and aesthetically pleasing. Manufactured from HDPE into convenient sized injectionmoulded pavers, TENAX GridLock is resistant to oil, chemicals and extremes of temperature and has the strength to withstand loads in excess of 170 tonnes per square metre. Unlike traditional methods of constructing hard-standing areas, there is less site preparation required with GridLock which enhances the sub-base reducing the need for excavation and expensive granular backfill. Installation is quickly carried out by placing the pavers on a bedding layer of sand and soil. Interconnecting and selfpositioning supports provide stability and link multiple units when covering large areas. The cells of the pavers can then be in-filled with soil following which seeding can take place. Alternatively turf can be laid directly onto the product and lightly rolled in. If demarcation lines are required, white hexagon-shaped mouldings can be inserted into the cells or filled with stone. Emergency access roads, road verge reinforcement, light aircraft taxiways, helicopter landing pads and lorry parks are but a few of the many applications to which this versatile product can be used. GROUND REINFORCEMENT Ground Stabilising Mesh When farm gateways and tracks become waterlogged and impassable because of deep mud, TENAX Ground Stabilising Mesh provides a low-cost and effective solution to this problem. TENAX Ground Stabilising Mesh is high strength polymer grid which when covered with a layer of well-graded, rough stone, (Type 1 Roadstone), forms a rigid interlock, restraining the lateral movement of the stone and producing a stable surface for animals, farm equipment and other vehicles. Installation is simply carried out by levelling the surface and filling any deep ruts with crushed stone and removing any major projections. The TENAX Ground Stabilising Mesh can then be rolled out over the prepared site and covered evenly with the required depth of stone. The depth of stone will depend on the ground conditions and the purpose for which the access or track is required, however, the table below will act as a general guide. The protected area can then be used immediately and over a period of time will compact even more resulting in a permanent access route. GROUND REINFORCEMENT SafetyMat Grass surfaces can be very unforgiving if accidentally fallen upon and can also be very slippery following heavy rainfall. In addition if the wet grassed area is used frequently by pedestrians, this can quickly turn into a muddy path with the grass roots completely worn away. TENAX SafetyMat is an environmentally friendly, non-slip, impact absorbing safety surface which provides a solution to these problems. Manufactured from recycled rubber, TENAX SafetyMat is simply laid on to the grass and pegged down. During the growing season the grass will grow quickly through the rubber mesh providing a stable and durable surface. Ideal for play areas, walkways, embankments and golf courses, TENAX SafetyMat can be used on flat or undulating ground and makes access by wheelchairs and pushchairs all the more easy. TENAX SafetyMat also has agricultural applications. Farm gateways are well known for turning into a quagmire during the winter months and this is made all the worse if used by horses and cattle. The area in front of field shelters and water troughs gets worn away and can eventually become poached where little or no grass will grow. EROSION CONTROL Multimat Multimat 100 Multimat 30 Before After Provided that the quality of soil is capable of sustaining and preserving organic material, the planting of vegetation is a well-established means of preventing soil erosion on slopes and embankments and there is a wide choice of herbaceous plants and shrubs that are suitable for this purpose. However, during the initial phase of planting, the topsoil is easily subjected to washout and soil erosion during heavy rainfall, its consequential rilling and by strong winds. Such conditions can result in significant loss of soil and the formation of moderately deep furrows. All this occurs because of the barrenness and fragility of the vegetation during its initial phase of growth because the root system has had insufficient time to become established in the substrate. TENAX Multimat 100 and 30 erosion control geo-mats are three-dimensional structures, manufactured from three polypropylene meshes that have been extruded and subsequently oriented. The products have a high tensile strength and a low unit weight which makes the geo-mats ideally suited for installing on steep and very long slopes. Installation can be carried out by unskilled labour simply by unrolling the TENAX Multimat onto the slope, fixing in place with metal pins and filling with topsoil. Grass growth can then be established either by hand seeding or hydro-seeding. Once installed the bi-dimensional structure of the geo-mats protects the layer of topsoil and anchors the roots of the grass to the soil matrix, thus helping to minimise both the effect of rain impact and soil migration due to surface runoff. TENAX Multimat 100 is protected against UV degradation by the addition of carbon black during the manufacturing process and, therefore, is highly resistant to the effects of long term exposure to direct sunlight. Typical applications for TENAX Multimat are for the protection of roadway ditches, slope protection, storm and irrigation channels, lakeside banks and landfill capping. EROSION CONTROL Promat TENAX Promat 70 is a polypropylene geo-mat comprising two layers of extruded and bi-oriented grids designed to protect and help establish rapid grass growth on slopes and embankments subject to surface erosion. Once installed the bi-dimensional structure of the geo-mat protects the layer of topsoil and anchors the roots of the grass to the soil matrix, thus helping to minimise both the effect of rain impact and soil migration due to surface runoff. Because of its material composition, TENAX Promat offers a greater degree of long term protection than degradable products such as jute and hessian mats. TENAX Promat can be either used on a previously prepared and seeded slope or alternatively the area can be hydro-seeded once the geo-mat has been installed. This can be carried out by unskilled labour simply by unrolling the geo-mat onto the slope and fixing in place with metal pins. Secure Multimat to the ground with metal Ground Cover Staples. Code 20000102 Trade Price 30.00/250 staples. TENAX Promat is protected against UV degradation by the addition of carbon black during the manufacturing process and, therefore, is highly resistant to the effects of long term exposure to direct sunlight. EROSION CONTROL Tenweb Installation instructions available from our website www.tenax.co.uk The ground on slopes is often dry and rocky due to lack of organic material. Under these conditions, it is necessary for an adequate depth of soil to be provided to allow for growth of vegetation. Since topsoil has poor mechanical properties, it can easily slide down the slope and get washed away by heavy rainfall before vegetation has become established. TENAX Tenweb geo-cells are honeycomb shaped structures in heights ranging from 25 to 100mm. Manufactured by continuous extrusion of polyethylene without any welding, the structure expands and, therefore, can be stored and transported with minimal space. When opened up during installation, a series of completely interconnecting ovoid cells with diameters ranging from 100 to 300mm is created.once expanded to its maximum extension and filled with lightly compacted soil or fine aggregate, a monolithic structure is created providing an effective means of confinement for unconsolidated materials within the cells and preventing their movement even on steep slopes. If required the area can then be seeded to maintain a green environment. The junctions of Tenweb have a central opening through which water can permeate ensuring that organic material receives moisture for rapid growth. Secure Tenweb to the ground with metal J-Pins. EROSION CONTROL HiSlope Earthworks such as dams, canal banks, highways and railway embankments require stabilisation in order to prevent soil erosion by strong winds and heavy rainfall. The planting of vegetation will prevent this from happening, however, while this is becoming established there is the potential problem of washout of the topsoil and the subsequent loss of any vegetative planting. A number of erosion control structures are available to provide an answer to this problem, however, where a biodegradable solution is preferred, TENAX can offer a natural alternative to man-made structures with our HiSlope erosion control blankets. Manufactured from coconut fibre, they are natural, organic and eco-friendly and will degrade in around two to three years after which time vegetation will have become firmly established. Highly effective as a means of soil stabilisation, TENAX HiSlope erosion control blankets disintegrate to form humus adding two tonnes of nutrients per acre on decomposition. In addition, these blankets absorb solar radiation, therefore reducing the impact of excessive heating and are 100% non-pollutant. Furthermore they are resistant to rot, mould and moisture and maintain 20% of their strength even after one year in the soil and 40% when completely immersed in water. TENAX HiSlope erosion control blankets can also retain twice their weight in water and actively promote vegetation. Secure HiSlope erosion control blankets to the ground with metal Ground Cover Staples. Code 20000102 Trade Price 30.00/250 staples.
