Luxaflex Silhouette Luxaflex Silhouette shades look vulnerable but in fact they are very durable. Regular dusting with a feather duster is usually sufficient to keep the shade clean and attractive for a long time. More thorough dusting can be achieved with a hand-held vacuum cleaner at the lowest setting. Drag the nozzle of the vacuum cleaner along the side of the fabric so that the dirt between the front and back of the shade is collected. You can also use a hair dryer on the coolest setting to blow the dust out of the side of the fabric. Stubborn dirt and stains can be removed by immersing the product in a bath (max. 30 C) with a non-synthetic detergent. Then rinse with clean water, hang up and allow to dry with the slats in the closed position. TAKE CARE not to get the headrail wet! If the shade is wider than the bath, you can wipe the fabric with a soft sponge or have it cleaned by a professional cleaning company with ultrasonic cleaning techniques. All Luxaflex Silhouette shade fabrics are made from 100% polyester, which means that they are hard-wearing and strong. Always clean carefully and avoid creasing the fabric, especially where the slats are attached to the voile facings. Should creases occur, these will usually fall out after a short time. TAKE CARE: do not iron Silhouette Shades

Luxaflex Duette The fabric of Luxaflex Duette Shade cannot be separated from the top cover. To prevent the Duette fabric from becoming really dirty you can dust the fabric regularly with a feather duster or a hand-held vacuum cleaner on a low setting. For stains it is recommended to wipe these with a soft sponge and lukewarm water, possibly with a non-synthetic detergent added. BE CAREFUL! Duette fabrics which have a metallic coating on the reverse side cannot be sponged down with water as this will affect the metallised coating. With the exception of the blackout version, it is possible to clean Duette fabrics by immersing in a bath of water with the bottom rail attached.you should first remove the steel weighting rod from the bottom rail by removing the end cap and sliding it out. Proceed as follows: Fill a tank or bath with lukewarm water (30 C) and add a non-synthetic detergent, quantity as directed on the packaging for hand wash. Lay the fabric in the water, holding the top bar above the water. The result will be better if you do not keep the pleats in the water in a bundle, but open them up fully. Ensure the fabric and the pleats do not crease or warp during washing. Stains can be treated with a soft sponge or brush. Do not leave the fabric in the water for more than two hours. Hang the fabric up over the bath and spray it carefully back and front, to rinse the dirt and suds out. Pull the fabric up carefully and ensure that the pleats fold correctly. When the bundle of fabric is completely pleated, press the top and bottom rail together again with both hands to squeeze as much water out of the fabric as possible. Once an hour, retract the fabric once, let it hang out completely and retract it again to 30 cm below the top bar. Repeat this cycle until the fabric is dry. If the blind is wider than the bath at your disposal, you can sponge the fabric down with a soft sponge or have it cleaned by a professional cleaning company that has a large bath, possibly with ultra-sonic cleaning.

Luxaflex Plisse The fabric of Luxaflex Plissé Shade cannot be separated from the top cover. To prevent the Plissé fabric from becoming really dirty you can dust the fabric regularly with a feather duster or a hand-held vacuum cleaner on a low setting. For stains it is recommended to wipe these with a soft sponge and lukewarm water, possibly with a non-synthetic detergent added. BE CAREFUL! Plissé fabrics which have a metallic coating on the reverse side cannot be sponged down with water as this will affect the metallised coating. With the exception of blackout versions, it is possible to clean non-metallised Plissé fabric and coated Plissé fabrics by immersing in a bath, with the bottom rail attached. You should first remove the steel weighting rod from the bottom rail by removing the end cap and sliding it out. Do not leave the fabric in the water for longer than two hours. Replace the steel weighting rod in the bottom rail and replace the end cap. Fit the Plissé blind back into the mounting supports and let the fabric hang down. If any small stains or dirt remain, you can again try to remove them by lightly wiping with a damp, soft sponge. Then retract the fabric to approx. 30 cm below the top bar. The above advice has been compiled with care. Nevertheless, no liability can be a

Luxaflex Roman Shades cleaning The top rail can be cleaned using a gentle cleaning agent. Cleaning fabric To clean the fabric, firstly remove it from the top rail as follows: Unhook the cords from the bottom rings and pull these up out of the rings or loops (a). Then remove (if applicable) the stiffeners and bottom slat out of the blind (b). At the top pull the fabric off the Velcro fastener on the top rail (c). Follow the washing instructions given on the label at the top of the blind.. After cleaning, fasten the blind on to the top rail again, attach the cords by threading the hooks through the rings or loops and reattaching to the bottom rings with the opening of the hooks to the inside (d). Cleaning advice The blind fabric must be removed from the top rail. To prevent serious soiling, you can regularly dust the blind with a feather duster or use a vacuum cleaner on low power. If there are stains on the fabric, we would advise that you remove these as quickly as possible with a soft sponge and luke warm water (max. 30 C) and if needed, a non-synthetic washing powder. Washing instructions are given on the label at the top of the blind for cleaning the fabric. The above advice has been drawn up with care. Nevertheless, no liability is accepted for the results of cleaning.

Venetian Blinds Venetian blinds are easy to clean by first closing the slats and then dusting them with a feather duster, soft-haired brush or soft cloth. If the slats are very dirty, it is best to clean them with a damp cloth. You can also use a vacuum cleaner at the lowest setting. Another option is to gently spray-clean larger surfaces and then allow them to dry well. WARNING! If the steel headrail of the blind is not completely dry, there is a risk that it will start to rust (with the exception of the bathroom qualities, which come with a galvanised steel head rail). You can also have the blinds cleaned by a professional cleaning service which uses ultrasonic cleaning technology. The above recommendations have been drawn up with care. We are, nevertheless, unable to accept responsibility for the results of cleaning. Wood Venetian Blinds The lacquer coating on Wood Venetian blinds makes them easy to dust, providing the product is regularly cleaned with a soft clean cloth, a feather duster or a vacuum cleaner with brush attachment. Very dirty slats can be cleaned with a damp cloth. The use of detergents is not advised. WARNING! Extreme damp can warp the wood. The cleaning recommendations have been drawn up with care. We are, nevertheless, unable to accept responsibility for the results of cleaning. Roller Blinds Roller blind fabrics are treated with a protective anti-static coating, making the fabric less susceptible to dirt and dust build-up than normal cloth. However it is recommended that any stains should be removed without delay. Slight or localized dirt All fabrics, with the exception of the metallic ones, can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth or sponge. A non-synthetic detergent may be added to lukewarm cleaning water if required. Do not scrub or rub hard, since you may damage the protective coating. N.B. Metallic fabrics should not come into contact with water, since this might damage the metallic layer. Extremely dirty Extremely dirty roller blind fabrics are difficult to clean. Complete immersion of the roller blind in water is NOT recommended. The fabric is adhered to the steel roller tube and cannot be separated from it without damaging the blind. Contact with water could cause the fabric to detach from the tube, and could also cause rust formation. The above recommendations have been drawn up with care. We are, nevertheless, unable to accept responsibility for the results of cleaning.

Vertical Blinds Luxaflex Fabric Vanes To clean Luxaflex fabric vertical blinds we recommend you follow the guidelines given with respect to the protective layer that gives the vanes stiffness and durability. The cleaning advice strongly depends on the fabric type. If you are not sure which type you have purchased please ask your Luxaflex dealer. Fabric types: Classic, Comfort, Ecostyle Dust-Block, Globe, Globe Sanaplus, Globe Structure, Panorama, Unisoft These fabrics may be washed in the washing machine. We advise you to do this no more than once or twice a year otherwise the protective layer will be affected. Cleaning procedure: Remove the vanes from the headrail. Roll the vanes up (around a plastic roll) after removing the bottom plates and linking chains, fasten the roll with tacking cotton or elastic and place in a pillowcase. Select a wool programme at 30 C and use a non-synthetic detergent. After washing, rinse the slats well, but do not spin-dry. Hang the vanes back on the rail to drip-dry, with the bottom plates re-inserted uppermost.. The vanes may be ironed under a damp cloth (at a polyester setting). Alaska, Antares, Aruna, Aurora, Aziza, Bergamo, Corona, Crepe Metal, Elaine, Elegance, Elements, Irlande, Irlande burn-out, Makenna, Memphis Grace, Microscreen, Moana, NRG1, NRG 3, Perla Topar, Prelude Topar Plus, Prestige Black-out, Prestige Dim-out, Silkan, Solo Burn-out, Status, Status Flex, Unico, Vinera, Zenit

The above advice has been drawn up with care. Nevertheless, no liability can be accepted for the results of cleaning. Luxaflex PVC Vertical Blinds can be simply cleaned with a duster or a damp cloth. PLEASE NOTE! If you scrub too long and too hard you will damage the protective layer on the vanes. You can also have vertical blinds cleaned by a professional cleaning firm that uses ultrasonic cleaning techniques. The above advice has been drawn up with care. Nevertheless, liability cannot be accepted for the results of cleaning. Luxaflex 250mm Vertical Panels These materials can be cleaned with a soft brush or a sponge - they should NOT be washed in a washing machine and DO NOT immerse in water. Cleaning procedure: Make lukewarm suds, up to 30 C, using a non-synthetic detergent Clean the fabric of the vanes carefully with a soft brush, not the wooden or aluminium part, without removing them from the rail. BEWARE! If you scrub too long and too hard you will damage the protective layer on the vanes. The above advice has been drawn up with care. Nevertheless, no liability can be accepted for the results of cleaning.

Awnings Luxaflex awning systems are virtually maintenance free. The profiles can be cleaned with a sponge and mild detergent and the fabric on your awning can be cleaned with lukewarm soapy water and a cloth. You should never use anything abrasive (e.g. pressure washers) as this may strip away the protective coating on the fabric. Speacialist cleaning kits are available from you retailer on request
