Gabriel Court Mate Gym Finish is a breakthrough in waterborne technology. Until Court Mate, restoring the gloss to a gym or court wood floor was a tedious, drawn-out, and dusty task. Offensive odor and drying times running into days were normal. Because of the time and energy it took to restore a scratched and dull floor, a medium to poor looking shine had to be acceptable. Too many coats of an amber colored oil-based urethane would cause finished wood floors to become prematurely dark and in need of expensive and time-consuming sanding and refinishing. Court Mate has changed everything... The time-consuming and frustrating upkeep steps have been converted to a one-day process that allows a team of three to prepare a 10,000 square foot wood gym floor and apply three coats of Court Mate. The wood floor is ready for sports action the next morning. When it s time to restore the shine, just wash the floor, let it dry, and burnish it to its original shine. Fantastic results with fantastic savings. Everyone will be pleased; Coaches, Players, and Administrators. Important: Court Mate is to be used on floors already covered with wood finish. Freshly-sanded floors first need to be primed with Gabriel Big-10 Sealer and then have at least 2 coats of Big-10 Gym Finish applied over the court lines. Always consult the Gabriel Technical Service Department for assistance. Dealing With Old Finish Peel Spots Peeling is the symptom of poor adhesion between coats which cannot be corrected unless the floor is sanded. Prior to applying Court Mate, an effort should be made to fill in any peeled spots with the old product in an effort to better balance the darkening of the old gym finish as well as fill in what normally ends up as an easy-to-notice depression. The results will be worth the effort. Steps For Working On Peeled Spots 1 4 5 2 3 Lift Loose Material Scrape Down Edges 120 Grit Screen Run Disc Over Spot Remove Disc Dust 8 Next... Gabriel Court Mate - Application Hints & Product Information Court Mate is extremely easy to apply. The beauty of Court Mate is that it is a one-part system (no part A & B mixing) that allows you to use up only the amount you need and save whatever is not poured from the container. Once the current old wood floor finish has had black marks, tape, gum, etc. removed and has been thoroughly washed, wet mopped, and allowed to dry, it is ready for a one, two, or three coats of Court Mate in a single day. Allow at least one hour between coats; humid days will lengthen the drying time.
