Safety Instructions 4 204 743 / 02 Safety Instructions Installation and maintenance of heat pumps can be dangerous due to high pressure, live wires and conditions at the installation site. Heat pumps must be installed, activated or serviced only by trained and qualified service personnel. All safety instructions in the associated documentation, tags and signs on the appliance and all other pertinent safety measures must be observed when working on this equipment. The heat pump is not without electricity until the Main Switch on the appliance has been turned off. Brine/water heat pumps that use geothermal probes as a Fig 2 heat source are not suited Main Switch Thermalia for drying out of building shells or for heating attics due to the output/load mixing ratio. The long uptime of heat pumps can lead to over-utilization of the geothermal probes and result in longterm damage such as lower usable temperature or even permafrost. Heating Control Heating Control Overview of the TopTronic T Heating Control Together with the connected temperature sensors the heating control is the brain of your heating system. The main functions are to: - provide the desired interior temperature regardless of the outside temperature - heat the home only when you are there - produce warm water (e.g. to take a shower) only when you want it - display information Extended functions: - enter the desired temperatures - switch heat pump ON/OFF - monitor temperatures All settings have been preset by the manufacturer or by the installer at first start-up of your heating system. Adjustments will primarily be needed if you are absent from home or if your home is too cold or too warm. How to save energy Turning of the heater in warm weather in fall is worth it In doing so you avoid producing unnecessary heat due to the low outside temperature in the morning, and your home will not be overheated. Consciously switching on/off the heater based on the current weather conditions is one of the most effective energy saving measures. Hoval also offers remote controls which allow you to control and adjust your heater from the comfort of your living room, without having to go to the basement or boiler room. Basic Display The basic display shows the day of the week, date and time, and the current temperature of the generated heat or another temperature (depending on the type of appliance). 5

Maintenance / Service Maintenance A yearly inspection should be performed to ensure trouble-free operation. General Checkup To detect potential irregularities, the heat pump should be visually inspected in regular intervals. Keep the enclosure of the appliance and the area around it clean. Regularly wipe the appliance with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Leaks are detected earlier and can be repaired. On occasion verify that all connections are tight. Make sure that all insulation is in its proper place and in good condition.? Will your heating and warm water system work reliably and efficiently in the long run? Regular maintenance as well as routine checkups and care of all important system parts ensure that it will! Don t wait with these tasks until the warranty has expired, but make sure they are performed regularly from the date of the start-up. Consult your heating installer. The Hoval customer service - Service is your one-stop shop for individual orders or maintenance contract service for the following: Inspection of the heat pump, water heater (boiler), adjustment and circulation pump.
