Our History
Since purchasing the land in the early 1990s, Ron has dreamed of building a home that would compliment the heritage of the land... Seven Oaks is situated on the outskirts of High Point, NC, and on land that was originally part of a large, successful turn-of-the-century tobacco farm.
As the children grew and went off to college, Ron and Jenny wanted to share the revitalizing beauty and tranquil atmosphere with visitors coming to the area.... and the natural life that inhabits it. In 2007, that dream came to fruition...
Seven Oaks Bed & Breakfast was named for the large, signature oak trees located throughout the property. In the olden days, the oak tree was a place of rest and relaxation for farmers and travelers that passed through this area. The Barkers have embraced these trees for their beauty and grandeur. The cozy furnishings will help you relax in the Great Room while watching a movie or cuddling with your loved one by the fire during a cold winter s stay. Our large, open kitchen is great for your catered event! Enjoy a hot, healthy, and hearty breakfast in our dining room to start your day.
Grab a rocking chair on the front porch for a nap as the warmth of the sun dances across your face. Watch the birds entertain you as they feed and roost nearby. Enjoy the sunset or star gaze as the fire glows in the fire pit.
Ron and Jenny s love for the beach and ocean inspired this room. One can almost smell the fresh salt air as you gaze upon the shrimp boats returning home with their catch... Furnished with a queen-sized bed, Blue Moon is great for those late-morning risers. This room can be reserved with a private bath or a bath shared with White Lake.
Jack and Jill Bath This is a large bathroom shared with White Lake and Blue Moon. This bath has a doublesink vanity with a large mirror. The toilet/oversized shower area is separate from the sink area. The shower is great for tall individuals, is easily accessible, and is equipped with a large seat.
White Lake As a child, Ron used to play in the pure, spring-fed waters of White Lake near Elizabethtown.... The safety of the clear water, shallow shoreline, and white sands allowed little ones to play for hours, giving mother an opportunity to also relax and enjoy her stay.
You, too, will relax as you stretch out across the soft, inviting king bed in White Lake or curl up in the unique chair while enjoying a good book, a magazine, or your favorite TV show. White Lake can be reserved with a private bath or a shared bath with Blue Moon.
Cypress Gardens Ron and Jenny grew up behind a boat and adorned with water skis. Named after the long-gone, magnificent gardens and fabulous ski show in Florida that was Dick Pope s dream, Cypress Gardens focuses on nature s floral beauty.
All of the comforts of home are available in the Cypress Gardens room. They include a cozy chair, a comfortable desk, and a queen-sized, Philadelphia House four-poster bed. Cypress Gardens offers a private bath with separate sink and toilet/bathing facilities.
Master Oaks The Master Oaks suite offers a soft, inviting king bed, a private porch, and two comfortable rocking chairs that are just waiting for you and a good book.
Immerse in the luxury of our large, twoperson Jacuzzi tub. With 18 jets to soothe you and the dual heaters to keep you warm, it will be hard to avoid this relaxing temptation. A true highlight of the Master Oaks suite.... There will be no more too hot or too cold bathing controversies with the dual shower heads that are available in the large, tiled shower.
