If the company s long-running relationship with blue chip clients tells potential customers anything it is that it consistently delivers on its promise with a high degree of technical expertise and an ability to meet and often exceed expectation. Its capabilities encompass projects ranging from 5,000 to 500,000 for multiple or individual contracts. One long-standing relationship it has maintained over the last few years is with footwear retailer Schuh. A major project in 2010 saw Archer Electrical undertake the electrical works for a refit of Schuh s Meadowhall store in Sheffield. The important aspect of the work was the new lighting system inside the 1,860 square foot refurbishment, which plays a major part in Schuh s merchandising strateas a result of its expertise and customer focussed approach. This has seen it build a diverse and prestigious client base reflected in its approved contractor status with some of London s most iconic stores such as Harrods, Selfridges and Hamley s. Repeat business over the last few years has included full electrical installations for a number of clients, often on their nationwide store openings or upgrades. Customers include food and drink outlets McDonald s, Greggs, Starbucks and Pret A Manger, and fashion retailers LK Bennett and Monsoon. Although specialising in retail and leisure the electrical contractor also enjoys strong links to clients in the banking and pharmaceutical sectors including Lloyds Pharmacy, Superdrug and Barclays. Archer Electrical carries out all aspects of electrical installation work including fire detection, emer- gies. The success of the finished project has seen it work together with Schuh on a number of store refits in the last three years. One aspect of its work for Schuh that is particularly impressive is the lighting design. The lighting takes the form of spotlights mounted within a suspended white raft, enticing the customer s gaze to the back of the shop, cumulating in a row of anodised metal industrial-looking matt silver spots, attached to a gantry, which brighten the store s deepest reaches. An eye-catching aspect of the lighting design appears in the form of pendant

While the company provides comprehensive services encompassing the full electrical installation a key strength is its lighting capability. Part of Archer Electrical s success has been its longstanding association with lighting specialist Microlights. Across a number of projects including the design, manufacture and installation of lighting systems for Lloyds Pharmacy, the company has worked closely with Microlights to deliver optimised lighting solutions to provide industry leading performance and environmental efficiency. Elsewhere, at a project in Oxfordshire for Toro Rosso s Formula One factory, the client required lighting to be installed within the wind tunnel where the team s engineers improve the aerodynamics of the car. The client was very happy with the result. Industry-leading lighting systems that combine energy efficiency with aesthetic effectiveness is just one way Archer Electrical stands out. Its customer focussed approach and attention to detail on every project has ensured relationships endure. For example, its ongoing work with Harrods is something Adrian is very proud of. The company is a registered contractor with the upmarket department store in London, delivering the full electrical installation for many of its concession stores. Most recently, it fitted out Chanel, Tom Ford and the world famous shoe designer Manolo Blahnik. The project for Manolo Blahnik represented a distinct challenge on two fronts. Firstly, working within a public space meant the installation had to take place while customers were in the store. Secondly, both Harrods and Manolo Blahnik were very particular about the fittings and lamp types used in their ceilings. Working to a strict deadline, the team developed a lighting solution alongside Lightworks that met the requirements for a low ambient light level with the need for brightly lit products. This helped focus customer attention on the shoes immediately following entry. The effect was achieved with high quality adjustable downlights with a 24-degree low glare optic and 35W 3000K ceramic metal halide lamp. Designed, installed, commissioned and handed over to the client within a minimal two-week period, Archer Electrical s work produced a stylish yet The project for Manolo Blahnik represented a distinct challenge

It is now very experienced in delivering these kinds of installations under such challenging conditions. Further to the service it can provide, Archer Electrical is acutely aware of its customer s commitments to the environment. As such, it utilises its own in-house design team to ensure energy is optimised throughout the installation. The company has also put in place measures to reduce its own carbon footprint. All waste from its sites is responsibly dealt with, hazardous waste is safely disposed of, and all other waste is recycled where possible. The electrical contractor has also tried to reduce the amount of THERE S NO BETTER RECOMMENDATION THAN TO BE INVOLVED WITH CLIENTS ON A REPEAT BASIS AND I M PROUD TO SAY WE HAVE A NUMBER OF ROLL-OUT CONTRACTS UP AND DOWN THE COUNTRY fuel it uses in its vehicle fleet by cutting out unneeded site visits and optimising routes.
