Water depth from the rim is 257mm. Ensure that the new drain has the correct roughing-in dimension. This toilet has a 305mm (S-trap) roughing-in dimension and a 185mm (P-trap) roughing-in dimension. See Roughing-in. Closet flange must be 185mm on-center from wall or 305mm on-center from floor. Carefully inspect the new fixture for any sign of damage. For new construction, refer to the dimensions in installation step for locating the shut-off valve. WARNING: Risk of external leakage. The fill valve nut has been factory-tightened to design specifications. If re-tightening is required, wrench tighten one turn past finger tight. IMPORTANT! Make sure the supply pressure is 2 a minimum of 35 psi (2.5 kg/cm ). Fig. #8 8 Fig. #9 9 9 Position the tank on the bowl. 10 Slide the hose guide onto the hose, with the flared end last. Slide the two inserts into the flared end of the hose guide. 11 Slide the metal washer and the rubber washer onto the bolt. 12 Rotate the flush valve to loosen the clip that secures the flush valve with tank bottom. Lift the flush valve upwards to detach the valve body from the valve seat. Metal Washer 1 2 Fig. #12 12 Fig. #13 13 13 Thread the bolts into the bowl through the bolt holes in the bottom of the tank. Tighten the bolts using a screwdriver. Do not overtighten. 14 Press the flush valve downwards onto the valve seat, rotate the assembly clockwise, and lock the clip that secures the valve seat with tank bottom. 15 Install the wax ring to the underside of the wax ring plate. Press evenly. Mount wax ring plate with T-bolts. 16 Align outlet and carefully lower over brackets. Watertight seal may be broken! 18 Carefully thread the screws into the brackets, until toilet is secure. Alternately tighten left and right sides to prevent pulling the toilet off center. Replace the Seal 1 Shut off the water supply. 2 Remove the tank cover. Fig. #33 33 Fig. #34 34 3 Rotate the flush valve to loosen the clip that secures the flush valve with tank bottom. 4 Lift the flush valve upwards to detach the valve body from the valve seat. Fig. #35 35 Fig. #36 36 5 Replace the seal. 6 Press the flush valve downwards onto the valve seat, rotate the assembly clockwise, and lock the clip that secures the valve seat with tank bottom. 7 Reinstall the tank cover. 8 Turn on the water supply. Fig. #39 39 Fig. #40 40 9 Flush several times and check for leaks. Fig. #41 41 SYMPTOMS RECOMMENDED ACTION 1. Poor flush. A. Adjust the tank water level to match the waterline. B. Fully open the water supply shut-off valve. C. Clear obstructions from the trapway, jet or bowl rim holes. D. Clear obstructions in the soil pipe or vent pipe. 2. No flush. A. Make sure the push button rods are in place. Adjust as needed. 3. The fill valve turns on/off by itself or it runs, allowing water to enter the Tank. 4. Long tank fill Cycle. 5. Noisy tank fill Cycle. A. Adjust push button rods for proper slack so the flush valve seal isn't held off the flush valve. B. Clean or replace the flush valve seal if it is worn, dirty, or misaligned with the valve seat or flush valve seat is damaged. C. Replace the flush valve gasket. D. Clean the fill valve seat/seat washer of debris or replace the piston/seat washer assembly. E. Replace the fill valve if the valve float sinks. F. Adjust the tank water level if it is too high. A. Fully open the water supply shut-off valve. B. Clean the valve inlet, valve head, or supply line. Flush the Lines. A. Partially close the water supply shut-off valve if the water pressure to the toilet is too high. Check the toilet performance following any such adjustment. B. Remove dirt or obstructions from the valve head. Flush the Lines. -10-

CONSUMER RESPONSIBILITIES If you live in a hard water area, make certain that the holes in the toilet rim are kept clean to ensure proper bowl flushing. Toilet bowl cleaners should be used at least once a week. Use a long-handled brush to clean the rim holes, and to clean as far into the trap as possible to prevent mineral deposits from forming. Most toilet bowl cleaners are not harmful to the vitreous china surface of the toilet bowl. Please follow the bowl cleaner manufacturer's instructions carefully. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. WARNING: Risk of property or product damage. Do not use in-tank cleaners. Products containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite) can seriously damage fittings in the tank. This damage can cause leakage and property damage. Kohler Company shall not be responsible or liable for any damage to these tank fittings caused by the use of cleaners containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite). ( ) -11-
