Seller Insight Avonvale is an extremely attractive and wonderfully spacious family home that was built by the current owners in 2013. It sits in an idyllic location within the picturesque village of Luddington, and not only enjoys a river frontage but also tremendous views of the beautiful countryside beyond. My husband and I own a construction company, says Helen, and when we happened upon this stunning plot of land we knew it would be a fantastic place to build a family home. The site already had planning permission and plans had been drawn up for a very large home, but we were able to slightly tweak the design to make it more conducive to our way of living. From the outside the house is quite traditional in its appearance and so fits in beautifully with its surroundings, however internally it has a slightly more contemporary feel, though it s not ultra modern. All of the rooms are very spacious and we added internal bi-folds between the reception hall, the orangery and the kitchen, which when pushed back give the whole space a very open plan feel. It s a home that works well for everyday family life and its also ideal for entertaining. This exceptional home boasts around two acres of attractive grounds that stretch all the way down to the banks of the River Avon. The kitchen, living room and the garden room all have bi-fold doors, so we can open up almost the entire back of the house to the garden, continues Helen. There s a lovely patio terrace and then a large expanse of lawn punctuated by beautiful old trees, which stretches away from the house to the river s edge. It s a beautiful space, and as it s edged by a mature border of trees it s not only peaceful but also very secluded. The very large kitchen, dining and living space is where we tend to spend the majority of our time; it s the real heart of the home, says Helen. It s where we cook, eat, relax, watch TV everything goes on in there. It has been beautifully designed and so it works incredibly well as a family space. We have always loved Stratford-upon-Avon, says Helen, and what s really nice about our location is that we re no more than five minutes away from the superb array of shops and amenities, and yet our immediate surroundings are so picturesque and peaceful. We have a really beautiful oak and glass outdoor garden room, says Helen. One side is open to the elements, but it has a fireplace that keeps it beautifully warm, and just outside there s a pretty patio area. It s lovely for BBQs and entertaining. I think I ll miss everything about this house, says Helen. The location is ideal, the views are stunning and the house has been the most wonderful family home.
