If headering inside, the individual PE circuits are normally adapted to PVC sch 80 once inside, and the individual circuits must be valved to allow flushing/purging. Geo-Prime or NP Series: If headering outside, use 2 - double O-ring x 1-1/4 barb (AGA6INS) adapters or 2 double O-ring x 1-1/4 fusion (AGA6PES) adapters to connect loop supply/return lines to the flow center. For outside headering, the flushing/purging manifold is already part of the AGF flow center. Fittings and hose kits must be purchased separately when using the NP Series flow center. Refer to Geo-Flo s IOM for additional details B & D: If headering outside, use 2-1 MPT x 1-1/4 barb (AGBA56) adapters or 2-1 MPT x 1-1/4 fusion (GFMA65) adapters to connect loop/supply return lines to flow center. For outside headering, a flushing/purging manifold must be built and installed. Flow chart does not include material for ground loop installation. This separation adds to the already quiet operation of the unit. 6
www.tetco-geo.com Effective: 01 April 2013 A Helpful Guide to Selecting Units and Accessories - Packaged Units 3 Flow Center: Available in both pressurized, and nonpressurized versions, the flow center circulates the fluid in the loop through the unit and back out to the loop field. Depending on the size of the unit, there are a number of pump configurations, as well as expansion tank options. TETCO carries both Geo-Flo and B & D flow centers. 4 Hose Kits: TETCO offers hose kits for easy connection of the unit to the flow center of your choice. Flow centers come with 10 of hose, plus a set of fittings for connection to the flow center, and to the unit. TETCO recommends using a hose kit with the unit to provide an easy union in case the unit needs to be disconnected for service work. 5 Auxiliary Electric Heaters: Installed into the blower plenum of the unit, the auxiliary electric heater can provide that little bit of extra heat on extremely cold days, or as backup heat in case of potential unit issues. The unique stab-in design means you don t have to drop the blower to install. Quick connect molex connectors are provided for the low-voltage wiring. 6 Indoor Air Quality: TETCO offers a variety of electrostatic and electronic air cleaners to enhance the air quality of your customer s homes. 7
Effective: 01 April 2013 www.tetco-geo.com ES4 Series, TXT Models Multi-Positional Vertical Two-Stage Packaged Unit High Technology Meets High Style Energy Star requirements, government regulations, and competition continues to drive the geothermal industry to provide higher efficiency levels and greater equipment reliability. Overall, this is good for the customer and the environment. These challenges, however, are difficult to meet in some parts of North America, where indoor air quality and/or airborne chemicals cause premature indoor air coil failure (both convention air conditioners/heat pumps and geothermal systems). The failure is normally traced back to formicary corrosion, which is a type of corrosion that occurs as airborne chemicals mix with the condensation on the coil to form certain acids that aggressively attack copper tubing. Today, all TXT units ship with a standard all-aluminum, micro channel air coil. This new technology provides a solution that can meet the efficiency and reliability requirements mentioned above. Compared to traditional copper tube/aluminum fin coil technology, the micro channel heat exchanger (MCHX) coil offers the following benefits: Single material construction (all aluminum vs. copper/ aluminum), eliminating the corrosion potential caused by dissimilar metals Improved heat transfer and thermal performance, resulting in increased unit efficiencies and lower operating costs 40% less material than a standard tube-and-fin copper/ aluminum coil, which saves on unit weight and is also fully recyclable Enhanced structural robustness (less chance of damaging a fin simply by changing the unit s filter) Other Standard Features Foamed-in water-to-refrigerant coaxial heat exchanger prevents condensation, potentially leading to premature failure, but also includes a sleeved opening for downflow configuration. This feature means higher reliability and fewer SKUs. Quadruple compressor isolation (high density steel/foam layer, rubber grommets, and two layers of insulation) provides the best sound/vibration absorption available, making the ES4 one of the quietest geothermal heat pumps available today. Top-mount control box provides eye level access for easier wiring and service, and also allows the unit to be installed as left hand or right hand return. Appliance grade cabinet looks like no other geothermal heat pump on the market. The soft white color is appealing to consumers, and the air panels are nearly airtight, which increases indoor air quality. Depending on the size of the unit, there are a number of pump configurations, as well as expansion tank options. TETCO carries both Geo-Flo and B & D flow centers. 4 Hose Kits: TETCO offers hose kits for easy connection of the unit to the flow center of your choice. Flow centers come with 10 of hose, plus a set of fittings for connection to the flow center, and to the unit. TETCO recommends using a hose kit with the unit to provide an easy union in case the unit needs to be disconnected for service work. 5 Air Handlers & A Coils: TETCO offers a variety of installation options for geothermal split systems. Our line of multi-positional air handlers feature ECM blower motors as well as primary and secondary condensate drains. The air handlers also have the ability to have field installed auxiliary electric heat. As retrofit installations become an ever-growing part of the marketplace, the need for simple and quick installation solutions grows as well. In most cases, homeowners don t want to wait for their new system to be installed, or are in a situation where a quick replacement is necessary. This is where TETCO will yet again set an all-new direction in the industry with the ES4-R Series Outdoor Split. Designed around years of geothermal installation expertise and feedback from customers, the TRT has some of the most advanced features available. These features allow the installer to place the unit exactly where it needs to go as quickly and easily as possible. Here are some of the ways the TRT accomplishes this: Side-mounted flow center hangs over the unit pad for loop connection. Unlike other products that require the unit to be brought to the loop, the TRT allows you to bring the loop to the unit. This saves on time and effort when the loop is installed before the unit is placed. The TRT uses standard flow centers that you install everyday. This makes connection and flushing familiar and easy without requiring odd fittings or hard to access connections. An additional advantage is that you choose the pump configuration that fits your application the best. Back-seated service valves with service ports sit at a 45 angle to the cabinet. This allows easier access to the line set for installation, charging, and service. The connections are also standard industry size to match standard line sets. All TRT models ship with built-in freeze protection and crankcase heaters installed at the factory. Other Standard Features Foamed-in water-to-refrigerant coaxial heat exchanger prevents condensation, potentially leading to premature failure. The foam shell also absorbs noise and vibration from the compressor making the unit even quieter. Triple compressor isolation (two sets of high density steel rails plus rubber grommets) provides the best sound/vibration absorption available. This also allows refrigeration piping to be routed under the coax in case of service or replacement. The removable lid makes getting to every component easy. This makes installation, troubleshooting, or service a snap. The compact cabinet looks like no other geothermal heat pump on the market. The rounded corner access panels and enhanced UV protected gray powder coat paint will make the unit blend in against almost any home s exterior wall. www.tetco-geo.com Effective: 01 April 2013 A Helpful Guide to Selecting Units and Accessories - Water-to-Water Units 3 Flow Center: Available in both pressurized, and nonpressurized versions, the flow center circulates the fluid in the loop through the unit and back out to the loop field. Depending on the size of the unit, there are a number of pump configurations, as well as expansion tank options. TETCO carries both Geo-Flo and B & D flow centers. 4 Hose Kits: TETCO offers hose kits for easy connection of the unit to the flow center of your choice. Flow centers come with 10 of hose, plus a set of fittings for connection to the flow center, and to the unit. TETCO recommends using a hose kit with the unit to provide an easy union in case the unit needs to be disconnected for service work. 5 Buffer Tank: Buffer tanks are used as primary storage for the heated or chilled water produced by the water-towater unit. Because all of TETCO s models are twostage, this allows for a reduction in the required size of the buffer tank. This lowers installation costs and increases the efficiency of the entire system. The all new Geo-Flo NP Series non-pressurized flow center raises the bar for non-pressurized applications. Building upon Geo-Flo s 3-way flushing valves with Flo-Link connections, the NP series reduces installation time, and increases reliability. In fact, by incorporating flushing valves into the flow center, the ground loop may be flushed without adding external flush ports, saving installation time and additional cost. Plus, piping becomes much simpler. Pump selection for the new NP series is the ultimate in flexibility. Geo-Flo is the first to use the redesigned Grundfos UPS26-99 3-speed pump. Or, the new variable speed GEO Magna may be selected for even more operating costs savings. Current options are as follows: NP 1 -- Grundfos UPS26-99 or UP26-116 NP 2 -- Two UPS26-99 or UP26-116 pumps NP V -- Variable speed GEO Magna NP V2 -- One GEO Magna and one UPS26-99 NP V2 NP Series The NP series has many installation/service-friendly features. One of the best is the GEO-METER flow tool, available with a mechanical or digital flow meter. For even more flexibility, an adapter is available to use this tool with the competition s flow center, providing a one tool fits all solution. In the typical application, flushing can be accomplished by simply attaching the flush cart hoses directly to the flow center. The optional bypass valves are needed when the loop header is installed in the mechanical room. However, if the loop header is outside, the bypass valves are not necessary, creating an extremely clean piping arrangement. Pump replacement is greatly simplified with the 3-way valves. www.tetco-geo.com Effective: 01 April 2013 Warranty Information 5-5-5 (Standard), 10-10-10 (Extended) Enertech Global, LLC Warranties Residential Single Family Applications - TETCO Brand STANDARD WARRANTY: Effective July 1, 2011 Enertech Global, LLC warrants the REFRIGERANT SYSTEM, to include the compressor, condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, and reversing valve, to be free from defect in material and workmanship for a period of FIVE (5) YEARS FROM THE DATE OF INSTALLATION. 1 Enertech Global, LLC warrants its GEOTHERMAL UNIT against defect in materials and workmanship for FIVE (5) YEARS FROM THE DATE OF INSTALLATION. 1 Enertech Global, LLC warrants SERVICE LABOR ALLOWANCES for Five (5) YEARS, 1 for servicing, removing, or reinstalling parts for any defect in materials and workmanship as set forth above. EXTENDED WARRANTY OPTIONS: Enertech Global, LLC offers an extended warranty option to cover all internal system parts for TEN (10) years from the date of installation. 1 Accessories 3 (auxiliary electric heater, and flow center) are warranted for TWO (2) years. Thermostat 3 is warranted for FIVE (5) years. ECW zoning 3,4 is warranted for TEN (10) years. Service labor allowances are given on the heat pump internal parts for TEN (10) years, 1. Enertech Global, LLC offers an extended warranty option to cover the compressor for TEN (10) years from the date of installation 1 (parts only). All warranties must be purchased within 90 days of invoice. For unoccupied spec homes, extended warranty may be purchased within 360 days of invoice. Warranty commences at startup date. 3 Flow Center, TETCO Thermostat, Electric Heater, and EWC Zoning must be purchased from Enertech Global at time of unit purchase in order to qualify for warranty coverage. 4 EWC zoning warranty includes zone panel and dampers only (does not include other items/accessories). 5 All service labor allowances are flat rate, which include travel time, diagnosis, refrigerant recovery, new refrigerant (when necessary), and repair time. 7 Variable speed motors are covered by the manufacturer s standard 3 year warranty, controller/meter kits and sensors by the manufacturer s standard 2 year warranty. 8 ecobee thermostats are covered by the manufacturers three (3) year warranty. NOTES: 1) Warranty claim must be filed within 60 days (see warranty claim form for details). 2) Fuses, hose kits, and items not mentioned above are not covered under this program. 3) Factory pre-approval is required for anything outside the scope of this document. 65
