Duette Shades Operation - Signature Headrail Ultraglide LiteRise PowerView For smooth operation, keep the wand close to the fabric when raising and lowering the shade. Operate the Shade For smooth operation, keep the wand close to the fabric when raising and lowering the shade. To Lower the Shade Pull the wand toward the center of the shade at about a 45 angle. The locking mechanism at the top of the wand releases with a click. The shade lowers as you allow the wand to return to the vertical position. IMPORTANT: The wand must be pulled in close to the front of the shade. Do not pull the wand out away from the shade. To stop the shade while lowering, move the wand back toward the vertical position and give a slight downward pull to engage the locking mechanism. If the shade hits an obstruction as it is lowered it will stop, which may cause the cords in each cord rout to become misaligned. This may cause the shade to be angled or tilted when fully raised. If this occurs, do the following: Raise the shade slightly. Lower the shade completely to the sill. In some cases, pull gently on the bottom rail to get it to drop completely. IMPORTANT: If the shade is tilted when fully raised, do not pull harder on the wand. It does not correct the tilt and may make it worse. To Raise the Shade Pull the wand straight down or slightly toward the outside. With each stroke the shade partially raises. Allow the wand to retract after each downward stroke. Use multiple strokes until the shade reaches the desired position. Duolite and Top-Down/Bottom-Up Shades To rate Duolite and Top- Down/Bottom Up shades, the right wand operates the middle rail and the left wand operates the bottom rail (unless reverse controls were specified on the order). To Lower: Pull the wand toward the center of the shade and release. To Raise: Pull the wand straight down with short strokes. This wand operates the bottom rail. Middle Bottom This wand operates the middle rail. IMPORTANT: You must first lower the bottom rail before lowering the middle rail. Likewise, you must first raise the middle rail before raising the bottom rail. Operate the Shade For better support and smoother operation, use the handle when raising and lowering the shade. To Raise the Shade Slowly and steadily push up on the bottom rail handle. Allow the shade to stack evenly. To Lower the Shade Slowly and steadily pull down on the bottom rail handle. To Raise or Lower the Middle or Bottom on Top-Down/Bottom-Up and Duolite Shades Shades with the Top-Down/Bottom-Up and Duolite design options have two moving rails. With the bottom rail fully lowered, slowly and steadily push up or pull down on the middle rail handle. NOTE: The bottom rail must be in the fully lowered position to operate the middle rail. With the middle rail fully raised, slowly and steadily push up or pull down on the bottom rail handle. NOTE: The middle rail must be in the fully raised position to operate the bottom rail. Basic Operation 1. To wake up the remote, simply pick it up or press STOP. The last group(s) selected will be highlighted and active. 2. Press all or groups 1 6 to select specific shade(s) to move. Duette Shades Measuring Guidelines for Shapes Note: Shapes hardware will use the Standard Cord Lock system and will not coordinate with Signature Headrail. Templates Make the Difference Templates are required with all speciality shaped orders. Easy-touse guidelines for preparing templates appear on this page. NOTE: One template required for each window. Angular and Triangular Windows Either the top or bottom of the shade is sloped or angled. 1. Measure all four sides to ensure accurate fabrication. 2. Measure the inside of the window opening for reveal fit. 3. For face fit, add the desired amount of overlap. 4. Record all measurements on the template to create for the shade. 5. Use the tallest height measurement when pricing the shade. Key (Fig. 1) Vertical measurements: LH for the left height; RH for the right height Horizontal measurements: W for the width; S for slope Slope angle: angle between slope and horizontal line FIG 1 Slope Angle S Five Steps to an Accurate Template 1. Tape cardboard (thin sheet or corrugated) or heavy wrapping paper over the window opening, allowing plenty of overlap. Use paper that has never been folded; a template can have no folds or creases. 2. Draw an exact outline of the window opening by carefully tracing over the inside edge of the window frame. 3. Remove the paper from the window opening. If the shade is an outside mount, add the desired amount of overlap to the window outline and draw a second outline around it to match the shape of the finished shade. 4. Mark the shade dimensions on the template. Check that the template dimensions match your measurements of the actual window opening. It is easiest to verify by cutting out the template and repositioning in the window opening. 5. Identify the template and its orientation. Write the customer s name on the template, and mark the ROOM SIDE and TOP. Send the template to the factory: If possible, roll the template and use a packaging tube to protect it against any damage. Use an authorisation for return (AFR) document for despatch, the AFR number has to be written on the order, so in that way the number is entered into the computer system. Send the template to the following address: Hunter Douglas Limited 338 Victoria Road, Rydalmere 2116 Att: Receiving Department 762 mm TOP 695mm WINDOW OPENING 800mm $ 1321mm TOP LH TEMPLATE REQUIRED RH ROOM SIDE 229mm 467mm Customer: Robert Jenkins 1143mm ROOM SIDE 1524mm Customer: Susan Jones 1245mm FIG 2 HEIGHT W TEMPLATE REQUIRED WIDTH TEMPLATE REQUIRED IMPERFECT ARCH HEIGHT IMPORTANT: Template must be cut out in the exact shape of the window opening and tested in window for correct fit. WIDTH PERFECT ARCH TEMPLATE REQUIRED HEIGHT WIDTH With quarter circles, height will equal width. In perfect arches, height will equal one-half the width. With imperfect arches, or eyebrows, exact height/width relationships do not occur... so extra care must be taken to ensure a good fit (Fig. 2).
