Soil Amendment Specifications Residential/Commercial Lots Updated Soil Amendment Specifications are applicable to all new development; each new lot must be amended. Before the District will set a water meter a soil amendment inspection must be passed. Amendment Specifications: 1. Tilled soil amendment product is required for all permeable area of the development including each individual lot and all common areas. Permeable area includes area that will be landscaped with rock or other landscaping material. 2. Amendment must be from the approved Soil Amendment List or approved equal. 3. Each 1,000 square feet of soil must be amended with 4 cubic yards of approved soil amendment, see approved soil amendment list. 4. Amendment must be incorporated into the soil to a depth of 6 inches, roto-tilled. Soil Amendment Inspection: 1. Schedule an inspection with the District at 303-279-2854, a District Representative will conduct an inspection within two business days of the request. 2. The inspection will include the following: The District representative will inspect material stock piles on-site; provide the inspector with documentation, such as an invoice or load ticket with information regarding the soil amendment product, quantity and property address. The inspector shall visually confirm the soil amendment was applied to the ground surface prior to roto-tilling. The inspector shall visually confirm that compost was tilled to the required depth. 3. In the event that an inspection fails, a minimum of 1 hour of Distribution Staff time ($45/hr) will be charged for each re- inspection. 4. If the ground is frozen and it is not possible to apply to the Soil Amendment the property owner must sign The Affidavit of Soil Amendment Installation stating that it will be installed by a specified date, agreed on by the owner and District staff. This is only applicable after the first freeze, absolutely No Exceptions. If landscaping material is installed or landscaping is planted without having been inspected, the District shall require the landscaping material and/or landscaping be removed. Landscaping will not be allowed to be reinstalled until a Soil Amendment inspection is passed. If the District determines that the soil amendment was not installed according to specifications or if the property owner does not comply with the terms of the signed affidavit, the water service for the property is subject to suspension and associated fees as stated in the District regulations. AFFIDAVIT ONLY ALLOWED AFTER THE FIRST OFFICIAL FREEZE Affidavit of Soil Amendment Installation Updated 08/24/2016 Address or Development: As a condition of receiving a meter set from North Table Mountain Water and Sanitation District (the District), the undersigned, as the property owner or responsible party for the above address, does hereby certify and affirm that the following actions place prior to installation of landscaping or will take place by April 1 st. Incorporation of Proper Soil Amendment: Adding approved compost at a rate of four cubic yards per 1,000 square feet of permeable area, incorporated (roto-tilled) to a depth of six inches. This applies to ALL permeable area on each lot or common area, according to Soil Amendment Specifications. Permeable area includes area that will be landscaped with rock or other landscaping material. The owner or responsible party for the above address also acknowledges that incorporation of soil amendments shall be verified by the District Inspector. If the Inspector determines that landscaping or landscaping material was installed without proper amendments the property owner shall remove all landscaping and landscaping material and it shall not be replaced prior to installation of soil amendment according to District specifications. If the amendment is not installed by the above date or landscaping is installed prior to soil being amended the above property is subject to suspension of water service, including associated fees, under the District regulations.
