Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia Valencia, Spain The Autonomous Government of Valencia Description: Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia is an opera house and cultural centre in Valencia, Spain. The building rises 14 stories above ground and includes three stories below ground, and height is 75 metres, being the tallest opera house in the world. Under the expansive curved-roof structure, 230 m in length, the 40,000 m 2 building contains four auditoriums. Project We had carried out the stage machinery and audiovisual installations at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, located in the City of Arts and Sciences complex.
CosmoCaixa Science Museum Barcelona, Spain La Caixa Foundation Description: CosmoCaixa Science Museum building is a beautiful example of modernista architecture, designed and built between 1904 and 1909 by Josep Domènech i Estapà. The modern extension carried out in 2004 highlighted the value of the century-old building while placing it in a new context. The museum has a surface area of 33,700 m 2 (6,300 dedicated to exhibits) situated at the foot of Mt. Tibidabo. It has a large spiral walkway that takes visitors from the basement to the 5 th floor. Pérez Galdós Theatre Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain Pérez Galdós Theatre Foundation Description: Recently re-opened after a long refurbishment the Pérez Galdós Theatre in Las Palmas is named after the famous Spanish Realist Novelist, Benito Pérez Galdós. The theatre has undergone a extensive face-lift, combining the rich historical façade with minimalist modern architecture. A new stage and orchestra pit has also been added, which serves to improve the acoustics and provide the musicians with better visibility. The Pérez Galdós Theatre is at the heart of the Gran Canarian cultural scene and will host some of the best musical events on the island. Project We had carried out the stage installations for the theatre. Full renovation of scene box: 24 engines capable of lifting 750 kilos in weight and 13 units with a capacity of 22 kilos stage lighting: five hundred independent circuits over one million watts, as well as TV circuits to avoid wiring thru public areas audio-visual equipment: designed for theater, opera, concerts and varied electroacoustic audiovisual displays
Museo del Gas Sabadell, Spain Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation Description: The original building for the Gas Museum was built in 1899, in the romantic neoclassic period, under the direction of the modernist architect Juli Batllevell. The building is popularly known by the name of La Energía and it was located in Sabadell, in the Duc de la Victòria square where currently there is the Plaça del Gas. It was a power station producing electricity from gas engines. In 2009, work began on a new remodeling and part of a new construction, ending in the autumn of 2011 with the opening of the Museum. Project Installation of the electrical, mechanical, control, communications and security systems. Highlighting the following actions: The entire set of installations boasted by the Gran Teatre del Liceu assume a critical importance due to their number, diversity, magnitude, complexity and degree of responsibility. The installations and the building must form a harmonious complex of cooperative functioning. And with its unique features such as: exploitation of underground water, management of access points to the Liceu and personal text screens. Rehabilitation and renovation of the 27 storey building. It is worth highlighting the extra logistical effort required in order for a 27-storey building to remain operative while work was still in progress.
