Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) (Amendment) Regulations 2017 GN No. 200 of 2017 Government Gazette of Mauritius No. 95 of 7 October 2017 THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT Regulations made by the Minister under section 4 of the Consumer Protection Act 1. These regulations may be cited as the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) (Amendment) Regulations 2017. 2. In these regulations principal regulations means the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations 2017. 3. The principal regulations are amended by revoking regulation 3 and replacing it by the following regulation 3. These regulations shall not apply to goods (a) imported under items E1, E2, E6, E8, E9, E10, E11, E13 and E19 of Part II of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act; (b) imported under items 75, 76 and 77 of Part IA of the First Schedule to the Excise Act; (c) entering the freeport zone; (d) shipped on or before 30 September 2017; and (e) imported under regulation 9(3) of the Investment Promotion (Mauritian Diaspora Scheme) Regulations 2015. 4. Regulation 5 of the principal regulations is amended
(a) revoking paragraph (2) and replacing it by the following paragraph (2) The certificate of conformity referred to in paragraph (1) shall be valid for such period as may be specified therein. (b) in paragraph (4)(b), by deleting the words back to the country from which they were imported. 5. The Schedule to the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the Schedule set out in the Schedule to these regulations. 6. These regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 October 2017. Made by the Minister on 3 October 2017.
