Mixermate Instructions Shower 2018 www.mixermate.com.au [Product Numbers MS001, MS002, MS003, MS004, MS005, MS006, MS007.]

Page 1/5 Shower Installation Instructions 2018 What you will need. Tape measure. Marking pen. Drill with Hydroseal tap re-seater. Small level. Copper tube cutters with reaming tool. Shifting spanners. Teflon tape. O- Ring lube. 19mm tube spanner. Silicone and rags. Small flat blade screw driver. Long nose pliers. Step1: Turn off water supply and remove the old taps. You may need to remove the old tap washers with long nose pliers. Check the condition of the tap seats with a torch. Clean the seat using a Hydroseal re-seating tool to provide a clean finish for the o-ring. Flush out any brass filings to ensure none enter the new mixer. This will void the warranty. Please note: Stainless steel seats can not be used.

Shower Installation Instructions 2018 Page 2/5 Step2: Fit the 2 -piece o-ring and locking nut fitting with the copper tube protruding out of the wall in each tap hole. Measure the copper 30mm off the wall and cut at this measurement on both pieces of copper (that are protruding out of the wall). Ream out the cut ends of the copper and ensure no filings are left that may affect the mixer. (The copper to copper elbows will go onto these pieces in step 5.) Please note: In some cases you will find that there is not a lot of room between the elbow and the locking nut when the breech in the wall is set far forward, in these cases allow a minimum of 20mm of copper measured from the back of the locking nut to where you cut the copper. Step 3: Remove the 2 -piece o-ring and locking nut fittings from the wall, install the o- rings with a small amount o-ring lube then reinstall back in the wall. Rough up the thread on the locking nut and add no more than 6 loops of white Teflon tape to the thread. Using a 19mm tube spanner, firmly tighten down the locking nut onto the o-ring fitting. (There is no need to over tighten this fitting) Step: 4 Centre the Mixermate tap between the 2 pieces of copper tube protruding out of the wall. Mark the copper tube coming out of the mixer tap 10mm back from the centre of the copper coming out of the wall. Cut the copper at these measurements on both pieces of copper. Like before ream out the cut ends of the copper and ensure no filings are left in the tube that may affect the mixer.

Shower Installation Instructions 2018 Page 3/5 Step5: Tighten the elbows onto the mixermate tap s copper tube first so they both face back to the wall. Install the mixer onto position by tightening the other elbow nuts. Have the mixer tap in the off position and turn the water back on. Flush clear any dirty water through another tap before turning on the mixer then flush clear the Mixermate tap before connecting the shower hose. Test for leaks. Step 6: Clean the shower wall where the cover will bond to and silicone in the tap holes but not in between the locking nut and the copper. Leave this open because if it ever leaks it will only leak into the shower and not inside the wall. Step 7: To install the cover; push the cover over the mixer and back to the wall. Apply silicone to the flat surfaces of the cover to bond securely to the wall. Use a suitable bathroom/wet area silicone. Please note: If the cover (with the black ring) is hard to get over the mixer, remove the chrome finishing ring then re-install when on. The ring should only be hand tight.

Shower Installation Instructions 2018 Page 4/5 Step 8: Fit the shower hose including the flow Restrictor. Step 9: Install the mixer handle using a small flat head screw driver. Install new shower cradle if replacing an old shower rose, or you can re-use an existing hand held shower or rail system if already there. Please note: Do not seal off the male outlet thread of the cradle. Loosely fit a chrome cap for a neat appearance only. Do not seal off this outlet thread on the cradle. Step 10: The finished product should look like this.

Notes Page 5/5 The Mixermate 2 piece o-ring and locking nut fittings can not be installed onto stainless steel seats. It is important to use a Hydroseal re-seating tool to ensure that the seat is 90 degrees to the locking nut thread. Cheap tools will not achieve this. The Mixermate can be removed at any time and the old taps re-installed but it is highly likely that you will need new copper and fitting to install in a different shower. Contact us and we can send new ones out. You can use any hand held shower with the Mixermate. The Mixermate is an easy fix if the mixing chamber/pipework behind the wall is leaking. It will bypass the mixing chamber/pipework and will connect directly to the shower hose outside the wall. The Mixermate tap is not and does not reduce/adjust the hot water temperature to a safe level. You will require a Mixermate Thermostatic Shower Mixer. Visit www.mixermate.com.au to see our range. Warranty. The Mixermate system must be installed by a Registered or Licensed Plumber otherwise the warranty will be void. The mixer tap is covered by the Linkware Australia Pty Ltd warranty. Contact us below for warranty information. The fittings are covered by a 12 month warranty. The Mixermate cover is covered by a 12 month warranty. Care for the Mixermate: Do not use chemicals to clean any part of the Mixermate components. Clean using warm soapy water. Do not use an abrasive or acid based cleaning agent. This will void the warranty. However, small marks that can not be removed with the warm soapy water on the white and ivory covers can be removed with a small amount of cream cleaner like Jif. The Mixermate is not to be used for load bearing or as a support aid, it is not intended to be used as a support aid in any way. The warranty on any part of the Mixermate components and/or system are limited to the conditions noted in the Linkware Australia Pty Ltd information headed Ceramic Cartridge Mixers. The warranty for any or all part/s of the Mixermate components and/or system will be void if these conditions are not met. The conditions are limited to the replacement of parts of the Mixermate components and/or system that are deemed to be faulty only and in Australia only. Mixermate will in no way be liable to anyone or for anything direct, indirect or consequential other than replacing the part/s deemed to be faulty. The Plumber carrying out the installation must install the valve without leaks and be Registered or Licensed with the required insurances to cover the installation.
