DI220 Using the Optional Docking Station The maintenance and operating functions of the Micro IV can be automated with the Micro IV Docking Station. The following steps outline the correct sequence to connect the docking station to a PC and read data: 1. Make sure the USB cable is connected to the PC. 2. Open the Micro IV Configuration Program. 3. Choose the correct port for your USB cable (note: different USB cables will have different Port assignments). To find the correct port number: a. Right click on my computer and select properties. b. Select the hardware tab and click on device manager. c. Click on the Ports (COM & LPT) to expand it. d. Look at the com number of GfG USBCtr 4. Click on Connect to connect the docking station to the PC. 5. Now insert the Micro IV into the slot in the docking station. Ensure the Micro IV is on. 6. When the red circle turns green that indicates a connection to the Micro IV has been made. 7. When finished, remove the Micro IV. Click Exit Any deviation from the above steps will yield error messages.

General Screen: Serial number serial number Software Vers software version Battery Check percentage of battery life remaining Customer ID cusomter s name PC-Time - date and time of computer Time Date - date and time of instrument To change the Customer ID Enter the name in the text box and click Set Customer ID To update the time click Set Time box and it will update the instrument with PC time **Items in Italics above are not user changeable

MK type - manufacture part number for sensor MK-Serial Number - U-ZP - zero point Mv U-FS - Gas - Max range of sensor and gas type Value - Alarm points - sets the alarm points 1 = alarm 1 2 = alarm 2 3 = alarm 3 4 = STEL alarm 5 = TWA alarm Fall below Latching Allowed honk off CAL gas - check if the alarm is descending - check to latch alarm (will stay active until reset by user) - disable horn - calibration gas needed to calibrate unit This screen will allow users to change the three alarm points. Enter the new alarm point along with options and click the Set Limit box. **Items in Italics above are not user changeable

Confidence Bleep - Set confidence beep on/off and activate audible/visual confirmation Vibrator - Turn the vibrator on or off and set interval Key Response - Sets the indicator acknowledgement for key being pressed Sensor warm-up - Sets the indicator of sensor warm-up Beep: - Set interval of confidence beep Date format - Sets the date format Wake-up - After a certain time, the instrument "falls asleep" to save energy. In this status, gas detection is effected once every 5 seconds. The wake-up box allows different settings for this energy-saving mode: a) Standard setting is gas detection every 5 seconds, and the Micro IV wakes up if a gas alarm is triggered. b) The Micro IV wakes up, if the gas concentration within the 5 seconds period either exceeds the zero band 3 times or if the alarm is triggered. c) The Micro IV wakes up, if the gas concentration within the 5 seconds period either exceeds the zero band 2 times or if the alarm is triggered. d) The Micro IV wakes up, if the gas concentration within the 5 seconds period either exceeds the zero band 1 time or if the alarm is triggered. 12h time - Sets the time for 12 hour (am/pm) or 24 hour (military) Show Time - Time will be displayed on the Micro IV Show Seconds - Bump Alarm Enabled - Will set a reminder to bump/cal the instrument Delta Bump Days - Will update the Next Bump Field upon successful

calibration Bump info - bump info" is a counter, which counts from 0 to 3, indicating the successful bump test (this feature is only referring to the 6-slot docking station DS220, not for the single-slot DI220). Next Bump - Date next bump test is scheduled Delta cal days - Will update the Next cal Field upon successful calibration Next Cal - Date next calibration is scheduled To change any of the non-calibration related settings, make appropriate selection and click Set Signals button. To update the bump or calibration date, a successful calibration must be performed. **Items in Italics above are not user changeable Service over keyboard - Can use push buttons to make adjustments to alarms and perform zero and cal functions. Vibrator disable - Vibrator does not operate Enable only Key Test - Overrides service over keyboard and only allows battery test no other key functions.

Gas concentration - Enter the concentration of the calibration gas being used Result - Will display the current status of calibration During calibration Running with yellow background flashing Successful calibration OK with green background Unsuccessful calibration Error with red background Horn check - Will sound alarm Start cal - Calibrate the instrument Start Zero - Zero the instrument Zeroing Adjust Zero Point Adjusting the zero point sets the Micro IV to its default zero point value. For toxic gases (e.g. CO, H2S), clean ambient air can be used to adjust the zero point. The default value for toxic gases is 0 ppm. O2 sensors must be zeroed with 100% N2 calibration gas and a calibration adapter or the docking station. Calibration procedure Flow the correct calibration gas into the configurator (for oxygen clean ambient air). When the calibration has been successfully completed, the result window will turn green and OK will be displayed.

Off - Turns the unit off Lock - Locks the unit. Unit will not respond to keypad or gas. Reset - Restarts the unit Default - Restores certain factory settings Update - "update" starts the boot loader in the Micro IV, which allows to program a new firmware by means of the file G220upd.exe Unlock - Unlock unit from a locked state.
