TIP: Cut branches into 4 sections no wider than 4 in diameter. No candles, decorations, twine or wire. GARBAGE TIPS Please bag all garbage. Double bag pet waste, packing pellets, vacuum dust, sawdust and cold ashes. Please DO NOT put liquids, hazardous waste or recycling in garbage. Recycle Styrofoam blocks and packing peanuts at StyroRecycle, www.styrorecycle.com. There is a charge for extra garbage. Each garbage unit set out for collection that does not fit in the container with the lid closed and is above the normal service level listed on your utility account will be subject to additional charges of $11.22 per bag/box/can. COMPOSTABLES TIPS 1. Collect food scraps and leftovers in a: Paper grocery bag Reusable plastic, metal, glass or ceramic container with lid Approved compostable bag 2. Empty your collection container into the compostables cart frequently. 3. Layer food scraps with yard waste, newspaper or shredded paper to absorb liquids. There is a charge for extra yard waste. Put extra yard waste in kraft paper bag, cardboard box, or 32-gallon can with handles and lid (65lb limit). Please label Yard. Do not put food or food-soiled paper in extra yard waste bags or cans. Recycling will be collected every other week on your garbage day. Container options include: Garbage 10, 20, 35, 64 and 96-gallon Recycling 35, 64 and 96-gallon Compostables 35, 64 and 96-gallon MISSING CONTAINERS Please report any damaged or missing containers immediately to the City of Auburn Utilities at 253-931-3038. A replacement container will be delivered in 3 5 business days, if possible. NO credit will be given for missed collection due to missing container. Place containers at the curb by 7AM. Place containers two (2) feet apart with lids opening toward the street. Place containers at least three (3) feet from obstructions such as cars, trees, fences, mailboxes. Place wheels as close to the curb as possible without blocking sidewalks, driveways or on-street parking.
