As a result the Delitek Food Waste Shredder with Storage was developed. Water is added automatically. The macerator comminutes the food waste down to the required sizes. Mixed with water it will be stored in a holding tank of pre-selected size. Of course it would also be possible to drain the grinded food waste directly from the macerator to the sewage holding tank. But please note that food waste cannot pass the sewage treatment plant. Further it is a matter of fact that the sewage tank will be discharged by means of a pump attached to the sewage treatment unit and most of the times the pump capacity and the pump design are not suited for food waste.
