Service Bulletin DRYERS Knocking Noise During Rotation of Drum, Top Load Dryer MARKETS: MODELS: USA ELECTRIC: DEGX1, DEGX2, DE62T27D, DE62T27G, DE27CW, DEIX2. GAS: DGGX1, DGGX2, DG62T27D, DG62T27G, DG27CW, DGIX2. There have been cases where dryers are still noisy after having the drum bearing changed. This noise source can be very hard to locate. If the lint filter assembly (P/No 395541) has come loose from the lint filter retainer (P/No 395133), as the drum revolves, the lint filter makes a knocking sound. To remove the lint filter assembly the following steps are required: (a) (b) (c) Remove the screw on the inside bottom of the drum securing the lint filter retainer to the drum. Turn the lint filter retainer clockwise to unclip it from the drum, then pull clear of the drum. The lint filter assembly should be clipped onto the lint filter retainer. If detached from the retainer refit and check that lint filter, securely fastens back onto the retainer, if a loose fit then replace with a new Lint Filter assembly P/No 395541. Reassembly (a) Refit in reverse manner, ensuring that when fitting the lint filter retainer to the drum, the screw hole in the retainer lines up with the screw hole in the drum Fisher & Paykel Appliances Ltd 78 Springs Road, East Tamaki, PO Box 58-732, Greenmount, Auckland, New Zealand, Ph: 09 273 0600, Fax: 09 273 0656 Fisher & Paykel Customer Services Pty Ltd A.C.N. 003 3335 171, 19 Enterprise Street, Cleveland, QLD 4163 PO Box 798, Cleveland, QLD 4163, Ph: 07 3826 9100, Fax: 07 3826 9164 Fisher & Paykel Appliances 150 Ubi Avenue 4, Sunlight Building #02-00, Singapore 408825 Ph: 6547 0100, Fax: 6547 0123 Fisher & Paykel Appliances Inc 5900 Skylab Road, Huntington Beach, California, 92647, USA Ph: 1888 936 7872 (F&P), Ph: 1888 396 2665 (DCS) Fisher & Paykel Appliances Canada Inc Fisher & Paykel Appliances Canada, Inc., 4180 Sladeview Crescent, Unit 4, Mississauga, Ontario, L5L 0A1 CANADA Ph: +1 905 560 4000, Fax: +1 905 569 4029 Fisher & Paykel Appliances Ltd UK Maidstone Road, Kingston, Milton Keynes, MK10 0BD, UK Ph: 44 1676 531 770, Fax: 44 1676 531 771 NZ = New Zealand Page 1 of 1 AU = Australia ROW = International Markets USA = United States of America & Canada UK or GB = Great Britain & Northern Ireland EU = Europe IE = Ireland TW = Taiwan JP = Japan S-FDRT-09-02

Service Bulletin REFRIGERATION Part Change MARKETS: MODELS: USA RF201A The divider tray, part number 837085 (refer Photo A below) has superseded to hook tray, part number 819416. (refer photo B). The hook tray simply clips into position by placing the hook through the slot/hole in the divider and clipping into position. It is recommended that the hook tray is fitted, as the hook catches the large freezer bin. This then assists the bin to glide out when the top tray is accessed. Service Bulletin REFRIGERATION Dispenser nozzle dripping water/f32 fault MARKETS: US MODELS: E522B, RF201 Some units are being encountered in the field with water continuously dripping from the dispenser nozzle. Additionally these units may also develop a F32 fault code. Both these faults may occur despite changing the water solenoid valve. The cause of this problem has been identified as air slowly leaking into the internal water supply line of the unit. A number of things can be done in addition to checking that the unit is correctly installed with the pressure-reducing valve supplied with the unit. 1. The collets shown below can be installed onto the John Guest fittings that connect the water supply lines to the fill tank elbow connector, which is situated on the top of the door hinge and the flow valve inside the display module. These collets greatly reduce the chance of air entering the water line. Additionally if the water line is refitted into any of the John Guest fittings, a small amount should be cut from the end of the line and then correctly refitted by pushing well into the John Guest fitting. Water tank line with new collet fitted Flow meter with collet fitted at both ends. Tubing cut square and pushed well into the fitting 2. Once the collets have been fitted, a minimum of 2.5 gallons of water should be purged continuously through the unit to remove any remaining air in the water lines and tank. It is helpful to have the plastic cover concealing the tank removed during this process so any remaining air in the water line can be identified and eliminated. This can be done by tapping the tank so the bubbles move closer to the top outlet line. Additionally, by removing the tank from the rear wall, the tank can be manoeuvred so the bubbles of air are moved close to the water outlet. The tank is then refitted once this operation is complete. Water Tank with Cover Removed. Removing air from the water tank by removing from rear wall. Note: Another source of air entering the water system of the refrigerator can be the household water system. If the customer has their own water pumping system, this can introduce air into the water system of the refrigerator. This air in the system of the refrigerator can lead to fault code 32. Fault Code 32 is measured as water run-on, which is water that has passed the flow meter and is greater than 10mls (0.338 fl/oz) after the solenoid valve has closed. This only applies to cabinets fitted with a flow meter. Page 3 of 3 S-FRFD-09-09

Service Bulletin REFRIGERATION Levelling Foot Nut (rev-nut) MARKETS: MODELS: USA E522B From time to time it is reported that the nut that secures the bottom hinge bracket is unable to be loosened or tightened due to the nut rotating within the cabinet itself. The nut is known as a rev-nut, and is riveted onto the stiffener frame. In turn, the nut that supports the leveling foot and hinge bracket screws into the rev-nut. This problem is caused by over-tightening the leveling foot nut in the first instance. The procedure listed below should prevent the rev-nut from turning, by locking it. Drill a hole alongside the edge of the rev-nut and place a self-tapping screw into this hole. This is known as Dutch keying and will prevent the rev-nut from turning. Service Bulletin CAD-SK SIDESHELF Excessive weld may cause CAD-SK side shelf to bind MARKETS: USA MODELS: CAD-SK PROBLEM: The weld that attaches the side shelf tray to the side shelf tube may be too tall, causing the side shelf to bind and not sit flat. CAD-SK side shelf not sitting flat. Large weld causing side shelf to bind on side shelf bracket. SOLUTION: 1. Using a metal file, file down the welds closest to the side shelf bracket on the underside of both sides of the side shelf tray to allow the shelf to open flat. 2. It has also been noted that it is possible to get the side shelf to not open to a flat position by leaving the shoulder bolts loose (not fully tightened). Ensure all the hardware is tightened as per the Installation Instructions provided with the CAD-SK side shelf.
