3 Ways To Go Global_1 A dining room set is visible. Two padded kitchen chairs are on one side of a wooden table. Two black wicker chairs are on either end, and a wooden bench with a blanket draped over it sits on the other side of the table. Light instrumental music plays. EMILY: You don't have to travel the whole world to get a global style here in your home, but how do you mix in this look if your home is a completely different style? A dark charcoal couch is visible sitting on a charcoal-and-beige striped rug in a living room. A dark wire mirror hangs on the wall over the couch. Gray and white pillows and a white blanket sit on the couch. A white chair sits in the background, and a coffee table with a houseplant and books sits in front of the couch. A light pink armchair sits in the corner of a room under hanging houseplants and next to a tall gold floor lamp. The room's walls are painted slightly pink as well. A multicolored pillow sits on the chair, and white pillows sit in a wicker basket on the floor next to the armchair. A small gold side table is next to the armchair. A white bookcase is visible, filled with books and trinkets. Emily stands in the same room speaking to the camera. Emily stands next to a tall houseplant. She holds up another small plant in a blue planter with wood feet. She smiles at the camera then bends down to smell the plant. EMILY: Well, with the help of Target's new global collection I've styled out three different rooms to show you. She holds up three fingers. Emily adjusts a wooden statue of a llama on the white bookcase. Red text appears onscreen as Emily walks out of the room. 3 WAYS TO GO GLOBAL WITH EMILY HENDERSON She forms her fingers into quotation marks as she says "contemporary." Red text appears in the upper left-hand side of the screen. CONTEMPORARY EMILY: First up is for you more contemporary types who like things streamlined and more minimal, but are ready to dabble in the global. The charcoal couch with the gray and charcoal pillows and white blanket from earlier is visible. A wood storage unit sits on the floor. A vase filled with flowers, a small giraffe statue, books, and small trinkets sit on top. A small wall lamp hangs above the storage unit.

The white armchair sits behind a beige pouf. A white blanket and white-and-black pillow sit on the armchair. A houseplant sits on the floor next to the armchair. Red text appears onscreen. CHOOSE A NEUTRAL PALETTE EMILY: Choose a color palette of safe neutrals but then have fun with the textiles. The charcoal couch is visible. The charcoal couch is visible from above. Emily played a black-and-white striped pillow with white fringe on the couch. She adjusts the white blanket. Red text appears onscreen. MIX IN MATERIALS AND PATTERNS EMILY: The key is mixing materials and patterns in pillows, throws, and rugs within that palette. Emily places a black pillow with white stripes on it on the couch. She places a white pillow with fringe around the edges in front of the other pillow. A close-up shot reveals the charcoal-and-white striped rug over a wood floor. Different shots of the couch and pillows are visible. EMILY: Embroidery, tassels, and hand-sewn detail make these neutrals feel really special. Emily runs her hand over the black-and-white striped pillow with white frills. Emily sits in the white armchair and holds up a rectangular black-and-white pillow. She drops it into her lap and looks down at it, smiling. Red text appears on screen. WARM UP ROOM WITH METALS EMILY: Warm up these neutrals with some gold or brass tones and having these side tables be round offsets the squareness of the sofa perfectly. A gold end table with a glass top sits next to the charcoal couch. A blue-and-white vase with a houseplant sits on the end table, and Emily places a gold parrot statue next to the vase. She then sets a stack of books on the end table.

Emily places a round gold coffee table in front of the couch. Emily kneels next to the coffee table, which now has a stack of books on it, with a small blue blow on top of the books. There is also a houseplant in a silver vase on the coffee table. Emily stands up. Emily holds a stack of books in one hand and uses her other to place the houseplant in the blue-andwhite vase on the gold and glass end table. EMILY: Green foliage works with any color palette and any style and it certainly takes the serious out of the sitting area. The charcoal couch, gold and glass end table, black wire mirror, and a beige-and-white blanket hanging on the wall are visible. Emily places a houseplant in a white-and-black striped vase on the floor next to the white armchair. The white armchair, beige pouf, and houseplant are visible. The room with the couch, coffee table, and armchair in the background is visible. EMILY: It's contemporary global and the world is into it. Emily continues speaking to the camera, gesturing with her hands as red text appears onscreen. TRADITIONAL EMILY: If formal and traditional is more your style, but you're ready to dip your toe in some global waters, then this one's for you. Emily adjusts flowers in a turquoise vase atop a wood kitchen table. Other knickknacks sit on the table. A wood table is visible in a white room. Four chairs in white chair covers sit on either end and on one side of the table. A wood bench sits on the other side of the table. Red text appears onscreen. MIX UP YOUR SEATING EMILY: Mix up your seating to embrace this trend by adding two wing chairs as your king chairs. The two white chairs on the ends of the table disappear. Two black wire wing chairs appear in their place.

Emily sits in the black wire wing chair on the right side of the table. She places her hands on the table in front of her and nods, smiling. EMILY: These chairs are the perfect place to add some global inspired textiles to keep it soft and cozy. Emily places a blue pillow with turquoise stripes on one of the chairs. Emily places a multi-colored pillow with geometric designs on the other chair. A close-up shot reveals the top of the multi-colored pillow with geometric shapes. A close-up shot reveals the two chairs with white covers. EMILY: Two slipper chairs keep it formal while adding a matching bench makes it more inviting. A wider shot reveals the entire table. Red text appears onscreen. ADD BOLD PRINTS & COLOR WITH ART EMILY: Bringing color and style through the art, but by having two similar pieces, it stays a bit formal. Emily hands a light blue art piece with geometric designs on the wall. Below that art piece, Emily hangs a darker blue art piece, also with geometric designs. The top of the table is visible, which is now decorated with flowers, candles, and other knickknacks. The two art prints are visible hanging on the wall in the background. Red text appears onscreen. MAKE A STATEMENT CENTERPIECE EMILY: A centerpiece is the perfect place to make a statement without much of an investment. The table is visible from another angle. Emily looks at a blue pitcher with a wood top. EMILY: Go bolder with some trendy colors that really pop against the neutral fabric and wood.

Emily adjusts fruit that sits on a tray on the table. The blue pitcher also sits on the tray. A piece of blackand-white striped fabric lays on the table under the tray. A close-up shot reveals the pitcher and fruit on the tray. There are also drink glasses on the tray. Emily places the turquoise vase in the middle of the table. EMILY: These handmade vessels create a happy, bright, and yet organic vibe. A close-up shot reveals a small houseplant sitting on the table next to the turquoise vase. A shot of the made-up kitchen table is visible. EMILY: A little gold never hurt even the most traditional of dining rooms. Emily places three gold and brown candleholders on the kitchen table. Each candleholder has a tall skinny turquoise candle in it. EMILY: It adds depth and reflects the light. A close-up shot reveals the candleholders. Emily hangs a gold metallic art piece on the wall. The gold metallic art piece is visible behind a green houseplant. EMILY: And don't forget that indoor plants and bold flowers are a really inexpensive way to add big life to any space. A close-up shot reveals two small vases sitting on the floor. Each holds a houseplant and has geometric shapes around the top and wood feet, but one is light blue and one is green. Emily places flowers in the turquoise vase sitting on the kitchen table. A close-up shot reveals one of the flowers in the vase. Emily taps it with her hand and walks away. Emily continues speaking to the camera, gesturing with her hands. A wider shot reveals the entire dining room. EMILY: It's not your traditional traditional, but I'm pretty into it. A close-up shot reveals the kitchen table. Red text appears onscreen.

LUXURY & GLAM EMILY: 'If you don't think you're into boho because you like a little bit more luxury in your life, then listen up because global can be glamorous too. A close-up shot reveals a light pink armchair. EMILY: The tufting and piping on this chair feels formal, but adding a playful pillow turns it casual. A close-up shot reveals the right arm of the armchair, focusing on the piping on either side of the arm. Emily places a multicolored pillow on the armchair. Red text appears onscreen. ADD PLAYFUL TEXTILES The armchair with the multicolored pillow is visible. A gold end table sits next to the armchair. EMILY: We soften things up by adding pillows and blankets from Target that have fringe and tassels. Emily places two white textured pillows with tassels and fringes on them into a wicker basket on the floor next to the armchair. A close-up shot reveals one of the pillows, striped with tassels. Emily runs her hand over the tassels. A close-up shot reveals a decorative wooden ladder. A white-and-pink blanket lays on one rung, and colorful tassels are draped over one side of the ladder. A close-up shot reveals the gold end table. Emily places a white vase with flowers in it on the end table. Red text appears onscreen. GOLD KEEPS IT GLAM EMILY: Gold is still the metallic of choice today and it s a perfect complement to the more pastel tones and keeps it feeling glitz and glam. The camera pans across the room. The armchair, end table, and bookcase are visible. Emily adjusts the gold floor lamp. The top of the lamp has two adjustable arms with a light at the end of each.

A close-up shot reveals a gold pineapple bookend next pushed against some books on the bookshelf. Titles on the spines of the books are visible. THE WELL-DRESSED HOME HUMANISITC EXISTENTIALISM META-PHYSICS THE FALLS V. THOMAS PYNCHON Emily holds a hanging plant with greenery and flowers by string at the top. Red text is visible onscreen. CREATE A STATEMENT WITH PLANTERS EMILY: Hanging planters bring your eye up and create a soft, sculptural statement. Emily adjusts two hanging planters as they hang from the ceiling. A close-up shot reveals the greenery and flowers in the larger of the hanging planters. A wider shot reveals the two planters hanging from the ceiling. Emily places a fuchsia-and-beige vase with greenery in it on the top of the bookcase. EMILY: This fuchsia works with our light pink but adds a little bit more depth. A close-up shot reveals the vase on the bookcase. A small wood statue of a llama and a taller vase with more greenery in it also sit on top of the bookcase. Red text appears onscreen. POTTERY GIVES IT A HANDMADE FEEL A taller fuchsia-and-beige vase sits on the bookcase. This one has a lid with a rope handle. Emily places the taller vase with greenery in it on the top of the bookcase. EMILY: Handmade pottery contrasts perfectly with the refined finishes and whimsical, carved animals give it a more playful vibe. The decorated bookshelf and decorative wood ladder are visible.

A close-up shot reveals the two vases and wood llama statue on top of the bookcase. A close-up shot reveals a wooden frog figure sitting on top of a book. A wider shot reveals the entire decorated room. EMILY: The world is going global and with the help of Target, your home can too. The decorated dining room and kitchen table are visible. The decorated living room with the charcoal couch and white armchair is visible. The light pink room with the pink armchair and bookcase is visible. The shot fades, revealing a white background. A red Target Bullseye is visible in the middle of the screen.
