Pavyotts Mill House Dating from about 1600 but with earlier origins and once a working mill, Pavyotts Mill House is a lovely example of a Jacobean house and is Grade II* listed. It has three storeys and is built of local Ham stone with a steeply pitched clay tiled roof. The house has enormous charm and character and has retained many of its original period features. These include stone mullion windows with diamond-shaped leaded panes, window seats, some fine fireplaces, early stone and wood doorways and original doors. The house has a light and airy feel throughout with tall ceilings and doorways. It has been the much-loved and much-improved family home of the present owners for nearly 20 years and is beautifully presented. On the ground floor the front door opens to the reception hall, which has a fine staircase rising to the first floor, the cloakroom and a door leading through to the magnificent drawing room, which has windows on three sides, a window seat and a fine fireplace fitted with a wood-burning stove. Adjacent is the dining room, which has a door opening to the garden and a flagstone floor. A door leads through to the kitchen, which is fitted with a range of bespoke timber wall and floor-mounted units under timber work surfaces and an electric-fired 2-oven Everhot range cooker. The kitchen opens out to the adjacent breakfast room/snug, utility room and walkin larder. The first and second floors of the house each have two large double bedrooms, all of which are well lit by tall windows on at least two sides, and each floor has a bathroom. From one of the bedrooms on the second floor is a steep staircase to the attic playroom/occasional bedroom, which has its own en-suite bathroom.

Garden In front of the house is a gravelled parking area, which sweeps around to the carport and wood store, with steps leading down to the cellar, which extends beneath part of the house. The gravel extends around to the other side of the house to a paved and gravelled courtyard, from where a flight of steps leads up to a terrace. Beyond is the formal garden which comprises a broad, flat lawn with richly planted herbaceous borders on either side set against a backdrop of tall laurel hedges. At the far end is a stand of trees, including a fine copper beech and a tulip tree, and a tall evergreen hedge with an arch leading through to garden dominated by a central circular pond with a small island at its centre, overlooked by a summer house (with power supply) planted around with roses and herbaceous perennials.
