Before using Read the instructions properly before using the unit. 1. Remove all packaging including protective foam/cellophane and labels. 2. Dispose the packaging properly and keep it out of reach of children. 3. Ensure that all parts are complete as shown/mentioned in this manual Safety measures This appliance is not intended for use by children or persons with no supervision and knowledge on how to operate the appliance. Use this appliance for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use corrosive chemicals for this appliance. This food processor is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the food processor. This microwave oven is specifically designed to heat, cook or dry food. Do not operate the microwave oven if empty. Always close the oven door when operating. Use only microwaveable materials when heating food. Do not put paper or any other flammable materials inside the oven. 3. Add the corn. Covered it again and set microwave to High for 4 to 7 minutes or until corn is tender. Let it cool slightly. 4. In a food processor or blender, purée it in batches and wait until smooth. Strain the soup through a fine sieve to remove pepper skins and whisk in yogurt. Add sugar then stir in salt, pepper and hot pepper sauce to taste. 5. Cover and refrigerate for about 4 hours or until chilled, or overnight. 6. Oven does not reach the set temperature Smoke is coming out of the oven Recipe oven. The glass door is not closed properly. It s the initial operation of the oven. A flammable material such as paper is inside the oven. Chilled Corn and Red Pepper Soup Ingredients the oven. Ensure the glass door is closed. For the initial operation, smoke is likely to come out as it burns the protective substance applied on it during production. In a casserole dish, combine the red peppers, green onions, garlic and stock. 2. Microwave and covered. Set it on High for 8 to 12 minutes or until peppers are tender when pierced with a fork. Never use the oven for storage purposes. Do not attempt to fry food in the oven. Hot oil can damage oven parts and utensils and may even result to skin burns. Eggs in their shell and whole hard-boiled eggs should not be heated in the oven. Pierce the foods with thick skin like potato, squash, apples and chestnut before cooking. The contents of feeding bottles and baby jars should be stirred and temperature should be checked before serving in order to avoid burns. Use potholders when removing cooking containers from the oven to avoid getting a burn. Do not place the oven over a range cook top or other heat-producing appliance. Never place the oven inside a cabinet. The door or the outer surface may get hot when appliance is operating. The oven must be placed against a wall. If door seals are damaged, the oven must not be operated. Never remove the distance holder at the back or on the sides as it ensures a minimum distance from the wall for air circulation. When moving the appliance, secure the turn table to avoid damage and injury. This microwave oven is for defrosting, cooking and steaming of food only. Steam will escape when opening lids or wrapping foil. Do not operate oven without glass tray, roller support and shaft on their proper positions. 9 2
Liquid or other food must not be heated in sealed containers since they are liable to explode. Before plugging in Diagram Check that no parts are damaged. If one is, call or return the unit to the manufacturer or reseller. Check the oven for any damages such as misaligned/bent doors and damaged door seals. If damage is visible, do not operate the oven. Make sure your electricity supply is the same with the required voltage of the appliance. Do not use the product if power cord is damaged. It must be replaced by the manufacturer or the authorized reseller/distributor. Place the microwave oven on an even surface. Keep it away from combustible materials. Allow a distance of at least 20 cms above the oven, 10 cms from the back and 5 cms from both sides. 7 6 Regularly clean the roller ring and oven floor to avoid excessive noise. Wipe the oven floor with a soft, damp cloth while for the roller ring use lukewarm water to wash it or place it in a dishwasher. Use also a damp cloth to clean the outside surfaces like the window and door seals. Make sure the control panel is not wet. When cleaning it with soft damp cloth, leave the oven door open to prevent it from accidentally turning it on. For cleaning the glass tray, use lukewarm water to wash it or place it in a dishwasher. Remove the odor from your oven by mixing a cup of water with the juice and skin of one lemon in a microwaveable bowl. Place the bowl inside and turn on the oven and set it for 5 minutes. Utensils Guide The ideal material for a microwave oven is a transparent container as it allows energy to pass through it and heat the food. Microwave oven cannot penetrate metal so it is advisable not to use it. Round or oval dishes are recommended compared to the square/oblong dishes as food in corners tend to overcook. Strips of aluminium foil may be used to prevent overcooking of exposed areas. Keep a distance of one inch (2.54cms) between the foil and oven cavity cookware guide table. How to use the microwave oven 1. Arrange the food properly. Place the thickest areas outside of the dish. 2. Close the oven door. 3. Turn on the power selector to choose a power level. 4. Use the timer knob to set a cooking time. 5. Once the timer is turned on, it will automatically start cooking. 6. Always set the timer back to zero position once cooking is done. How to use the control panel The control panel consist of two function operators. One is a timer knob and the other is power knob. It is the first step to start a cooking session. Timer Knob You can set cooking time from 1 to 30 minutes. Microwave Cooking For pure microwave cooking, there are six power levels from which to choose one as best fit to do the job at hand. Power level increases with the knob turning clockwise. The power levels can be classified as the following: 6
