Smart Heating Smart Heating is the term Samsung uses to describe its air source heat pump technology. Find out how it can save you money. What is Smart Heating Air Source Heat Pumps use electricity to create heat using a system very similar to that of a domestic refrigerator, when a fridge is getting cold inside, you can feel warmth being generated at the back. Samsung s EHS Smart Heating system reverses this cycle giving the cold to outside and generating warmth inside which is the transferred to water to travel round radiators or under floor heating and to provide hot water for storage i.e washing etc. Why Change To Smart Heating? Samsung s EHS is one of the most energy efficient ways in which you can heat your home. By harnessing natural warmth from outside (even on cold days) the system can create heat up to 4 times more efficiently that other forms of heating such as Gas, Oil or electric storage heaters. The process is so efficient that it has been recognised by the UK government as a way to reduce carbon emissions and fuel bills and to persuade people to change they have introduced a new incentive scheme called the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) which will pay you a lump sum each year for 7 years. How does it works? The Samsung Air Source Heat Pump works a bit like a refrigerator in reverse. The process consists of an evaporator, a compressor and a condenser. It absorbs heat from the outside air and the heat pump compressor then increases the temperature of that heat further to create useful heat. Using renewable energy from surrounding environment A heat pump uses the heat from ambient air, which is free and renewable energy source, for heating and hot water.
