Introduction This document has been prepared with the aim of achieving consistency in quality, appearance and standards and to give guidance in the selection and specification of products. It is not intended that these documents be used as substitutes for fully detailed project specifications. Consultants/Contractors shall develop their project specific documentation in line with these documents. Where deviation from this document is proposed written approval of this departure shall be approved jointly by the Imperial College Estates Engineering Manager and Building Services Manager. Performance Criteria The following Criteria have been prepared to establish a generic minimum acceptable standard for ICL. In certain cases the Criteria are based on standard data, and also indicate alternative options. The specifying engineer should verify and if necessary amend the basic data and clearly indicate the options required for each particular scheme. There should be no deviation from the list of preferred manufacturers without the express permission of ICL.

Component and Supplier Information Imperial College London has commenced an initiative to introduce supply chain management on all future capital projects undertaken throughout its property portfolio. This section details the work undertaken to date and provides guidance of proposed components and suppliers as at July 2004 (although the lists and names are not exhaustive).
