The continuous change in communication and IT technology, the variety of the required control centre systems and the greater integration requirement for these systems to as few as possible ergonomic human-machine interfaces place high requirements on the conceptual solution and the technology suitable for this. 4 Center Systems Control Centre Technology Next Generation System NGS3600 The modern, future-proof and flexibly expandable Communication System based on VOIP. The Center Systems NGS3600 radio/wire communication system is the newest generation of a high-performance and failure-proof communication system. The NGS3600 is an integrative system platform for the relaying of emergency calls and conventional telephone calls, analogue radio channels as well as digital radio telephony and voice signals of other various media. Operation and user guidance is carried out via a separate, designable, touchoptimised GUI or integrated via other control centre systems. Areas of application Control centres of emergency organisations, such as fire brigades, rescue services, police Control rooms of public transport (traffic companies, railways, mountain railways) Industry authorities, headquarters of site security and security guard Process control points of energy suppliers Control rooms of service operations, such as taxi dispatch centres, courier services Security centres (sporting venues, airports, railway stations, shopping centres, amusement parks ) System architecture The NGS3600 is subject to a full, pure VoIP concept and, accordingly, systems can be compactly set up in networked at a location or nationwide via IP connections. Every system has an intermediary server, media gateways as interfaces to the various external media and workplace equipment for the operation. According to the availability requirements, these system components can be designed as single or double cluster solutions and also have redundant network connections. The capacity of the system covers the bandwidth of small control centres to large control centres up to 80 workstations and more without changes of components, so that the design and expansion possibilities have no limits. The software concept offers functional modules that cover the various application areasof a control centre operation and can be combined and adjusted depending on the requirement. All components are designed for integration into a separate or superordinate error moni toring and network management. 1

Product Lines 5 Workstations The workstations combine all functions of the system on a single user interface (touch panel or mouse/keyboard operation). A dispatcher workstation consists of a workstation computer with an intuitive control panel and corresponding speech devices. Every main workstation is basically equipped iden tically, so that the role-based concept or free seating can be fully utilised. A silent workstation computer is used for the control of the control panel (fanless box PC). The CDI3603 dispatcher interface convert the VoIP speech data into analogue signals for various loudspeakers, microphones, handsets or headsets and provide the terminal (SIP client) for the communication system. Of course, a foot switch and a signal lamp can be connected to these workstation electronics (e.g. workstation talks/does not talk). The workstation is standardised, but can be varied with regard to the various screen sizes. The workstations are designed according to the criteria of maximum availability. In the event of failure of the touch panel or the PC based working position active calls are not interrupted. Workstations with CDI3603 as a software application are available in a simplified version. This enables the operation of a workstation on laptops, tablets or on simplified build-up elements for use as calltaker workstations, redundant or operation directors activity workstations or in mobile control centres. 6 Center Systems Control Centre Technology Planned and equiped by specialists Center Systems is the specialist for equipping control centres and technical workstations with functional and high-quality facilities for control centres of the emergency services, works security and civil security. The planning process begins with analysis of the organisational, ergonomic and technical requirements because functionality is not limited to the system console, but also includes the entire environment. Center Systems incorporates and also implements traffic routes, operating areas and lighting, as well as supplementary infrastructure, such as recreational areas, staff rooms and much more, in the planning process from the outset. A photorealistic image provides an overview of the entire area with the positioning, colours and reflective areas, for example, under natural and artificial light conditions. Control Room Solutions from Center Systems claim to provide the perfect combination of ergonomics, design and technology. That s why it can be delivered with a wide variety of options, millimetre-precise installation of your complex technology hardware in aluminium plates, which are installed in the console (in the control panel or in the top level). There are a number of options for the installation of digital operating technology, e.g. ergonomic touch screen (optional: electrical adjustment). Cable management systems are consistently installed and integrated according to standards issued by the VDE, and provide for the separation of electrical and data cabling. Due to its elaborate table top form, the DeskSys system can be planned in a wide variety of different configurations in the room; at the same time, the formation of groups of employees can be actively supported. Every DeskSys system can be optionally changed from seating to standing height (motor actuation). Important: The technology remains at a standstill during the motordriven movement of the table tops within the table; also, at standing height, the technology also always remains hidden. Control consoles from Center Systems correspond to the guideline for screen workstations. Also, the electro-mechanically adjustable standing/seating position of the workplace height, the monitor height and depth enables dynamic working in 24-hour shift operation. 1

Thanks to intelligent integration and optimum networking of individual dis ciplines (e.g. video, emergency call, traffic systems, ) as well as uniform screen designs in connection with up-to-date technology, a homogeneous system can be created. Great importance is especially placed here on the current ergonomic aspects, as well as on a user-friendly environment (usability). With these easy-to-operate, uniform GUIs, the people responsible are in full control of all events in the complete system. As a supplement to the automatic security management, the correct actions can be implemented quickly and easily in cases of emergency. This ensures the greatest possible security of the system and its users. 8 Center Systems Control Centre Technology Alerting and notification in case of an emergency The alerting and notification of emergency services in the event of an emergency, the population in the event of a catastrophe or employees at the company premises of an industrial plant is one of the core tasks of control centres and safety control centres. For this, Center Systems offers up-to-date and secure technologies for the organisations, authorities and companies. A difference must be made between alerting, i.e. safety-critical aspects, and notification with informal character. Alarm systems The centre applications are available as an integral part of the NGS3600 IP voice communication system, or also a separate application. These enable safe and comfortable operation via a graphical user interface, various distribution networks can be used up to the terminals and units, such as a specially created digital alarm system, the Public Safety TETRA networks of the organisations or even public networks. The transmission is carried out via POCSAG, TETRA SDS or other technologies according to the requirements of the user or the terminals. The CSG3000 system platform enables the implementation and also provides the technology for siren terminals, pager equipment or a fire brigade status messaging system, for example. Notification systems Notification and information of organisations and authorities use a plurality of other transmission media, such as mobile telephone networks, e-mails or conventional telephony. The management in a control centre is enabled by the applications of Center Systems; next to the user interfaces, this also includes mechanisms for generating alarm texts and recorded messages, the dynamic formation of alarm groups, the evaluation of feedback or the introduction of escalation measures through additional alarm groups. 2

Product Lines 9 Announcement Systems Announcement Systems for emergency organisations from Center Systems enable the alerting, as well as the targeted and quick informing of the own emergency services, concerning safety-relevant requirements. The system structure, incl. all control and monitoring mechanisms, is optimally designed for distributed locations. Access can be made to existing, modern IP-based communication networks here. The sound installations from Center Systems consist of the VMG3500 voice media gateway and the D1 sound system. This makes optimum integration in the control centre technology possible based on the next generation system and also in existing control stations. Next Generation System VMG3500 Voice Media Gateway The VMG3500 voice media gateway is a universally usable gateway, which combines communication networks with high-quality announcement systems. The specific characteristics of the communication networks that are used are supplemented here by the requirements of modern announcement solutions. Thus, the VMG3500 voice media gateway has a source-dependent volume control. This ensures that there is always an optimum sound quality and volume available at the sound areas, independent of the terminals used. Even the monitoring of the voice communication by means of silence detection, between a voice source and the sound system, independent of the communication network used, is an important and necessary function for system security. Moreover, the VMG3500 voice media gateway has the possibility of dependent on calculating a system status related to the overall availability from the system status of the switched-on announcement system. This can be transferred to defined targets via the switched-on communication networks. This means, for example, the condition of the system can also simply be transmitted to a user via general communication networks, such as IP or ISDN. So operational procedures can be optimised and costs saved.

10 Center Systems Control Centre Technology Hybrid terminals - TETRA/GPRS/3.5G/PMR and voice data radio/wlan/gps The hybrid vehicle unit is used for voice communication of the vehicle crew with the operators of the control centre, as well as the data communication between applications in the vehicle and those in the control centre. The product was developed for the use in rescue vehicles and ambulances, but can also be used in other safety-relevant applications. The base is a fanless, robust vehicle computer based on Windows, which can be switched on via various interfaces at as many different communication networks as possible. All functions of the hybrid vehicle are operated by means of a touch screen, installed close to the driver, via menus with several operating levels. A handset unit or another loudspeaker/ microphone combination is available for voice operation. In addition to voice communication, especially data communication is in the foreground. The vehicle crew must be presented with the relevant data sets of the control centre so it is appealing and quick to understand, and they must also be able to send predefined mes sages and status messages using operations that are as straightforward and uncom plicated as possible.
