Once the hot water tap is closed, the system turns itself off. The principle for this revolutionary ignition system is to create a supremely efficient appliance that is simple and easy to install. External HydroPower models are available in 10, 13 and 16 litre per minute flow rates and are available in Natural or LP gas. Colder Climates An exogel valve is recommended for areas that drop to 0 C for short periods. heatpump Page 20 heatpump The Bosch Compress 3000 is an Air to Water heat pump which was developed in Europe converting the same reliable technology used in refrigerators to extract heat from the air and transfer it into the water. This means that the heat pump reduces energy use by up to 65% compared to a conventional electric storage hot water system. Operating down to -7 C the Compress 3000 provides you with energy efficient hot water even when it is freezing outside. Engineered and manufactured in Europe, the Bosch Compress 3000 includes smart controls, which allow the user to maximise their savings while best suiting their hot water needs. They can also be used to optimise energy usage in combination with a PV solar energy generation system. Note: Heat pumps use the ambient temperature in surrounding air to heat water in the tank. This means as the air temperature around the tank decreases, the time taken to heat the full tank increases. Customers in colder climate and frost prone areas should consider this when deciding which type of Bosch system is best for their circumstances. A heat pump water heater is a cost effective, simple way of achieving this. How does the heat pump work? The heat pump is essentially a refrigerator in reverse. A refrigerator creates and distributes cool air, while expelling the waste heat into the atmosphere. A heat pump works in the opposite manner, by creating and distributing heat into the stored water, and expelling cooled air into the atmosphere around it. This process allows heat pumps to create energy efficient heat by drawing from the thermal energy in the surrounding air, heating water by up to 65% more efficiently than a conventional electric storage water heater.

With 12L, 16L and 20L capacities available the OptiFlow Professional is the largest range of internally installed, room-sealed, water heater appliances in Australia. This wide range of capacities allows you to choose the appliance that is right size for your application. The flue system of the OptiFlow Professional both draws air and expels flue gas to outside. This allows it to be installed safely in more places in the home such as cupboards in the kitchen or bathroom, without interrupting these spaces. When installed in the kitchen or bathroom the OptiFlow Professional will be closer to the point of use which reduces wait times for hot water, and saves water and energy. Alongside the inbuilt controller, an extra wired remote controller can be installed. rebates Page 33 Incentives STCS: Bosch Compress 3000 Heat Pump The Clean Energy Regulator (CER) awards Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs) according to how much energy each heat pump saves. One STC is awarded to every Megawatt hour (MWh) of electricity saved over the lifetime of the product. The more efficient the heat pump, the more STCs will be awarded to that product. STC rebates for heat pumps are calculated on the basis of five climate zones as shown on the map below. STCs are awarded a monetary dollar value which fluctuates depending on market demand each week. The STC value being paid for that week would need to be checked at the time of purchase. The total value of the claimable rebate would be the current rebate price multiplied by the number of rebates in the applicable zone. VEECS: Eligible to all Bosch Gas Hot Water Appliances Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEEC s) are electronic certificates created in accordance with the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Act 2007 (the Act) and the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Regulations 2008 (Regulations). Each VEEC represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2-e) abated by specified energy saving activities known as Prescribed Activities.
