Make sure the electricity voltage is consistent with the voltage shown in the label. Please place the Marinator on a stable counter top. Always switch power off before removing plug from wall outlet. Remove plug by grasping the plug. Do not pull the cord. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs or motor assembly in water or other liquid. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used near children. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment. The use of accessory attachment not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries. Do not use outdoors. Do not place on or near electric equipment (hot plate) or on a hot gas flame or in a heated oven. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. Operating the Unit: HOW TO USE Carey welcomes you to exciting world of vacuum marinating your favorite foods. When marinating meats, it s all about flavor and texture. The vacuum feature allows the flavors of the marinade to penetrate further into your meat. The tumbling action distributes the marinade evenly and helps break down the meat fibers for a tender finish. The Carey Vacuum Marinator will have your main course ready for cooking faster than hours in the refrigerator. 1. Plug the unit into a working power outlet. 2. When connected to power, the unit will beep once. The unit is now in stand-by mode. 3. When you press the start/off button, the LCD will display the time symbol and the green light will turn on. 4. Make sure the canister knob is in the open point position. Open the canister cover and place the items to be marinated along with your marinade mixture into the canister. Close the cover. 5. Open the door of the vacuum tube storage compartment, take the vacuum tube out and insert it to the hole of the cover of the canister cover. Then, turn the knob to the vacuum position. 6. Press the Function button and the LCD will then display and the red light will turn on. In approximately 2 seconds, the vacuum pump will start. The timer will count up, in minute increments, as the air is removed. 7. It takes approximately 3 minutes to create a full vacuum. When complete, the unit will beep once. 8. When the red light turns off, turn the canister knob to the lock position. Then pull out the vacuum tube and tuck it back into the storage compartment. Close the door. 9. Place the canister on the wheels. Make sure the canister cover is facing the right. See the picture on the cover of this manual for reference. 10. Press the Function button. The red light will appear and the image will change to. The timer will show. You can adjust the time by pressing + or -. Approximately 2 seconds after pressing the + or -, the wheels will begin turning, starting the marinating process. 11. When the timer reaches 0:00, the unit will beep once indicating the marinating has finished. 12. Turn the canister knob to the open position. Air will enter the canister and you can now open the cover by hand. Note: if the cover of the cannister is not closed completely the vacuum will fail. The pump will stop automatically after 7 minutes, and the red light will stay on. Tip: Make sure the vacuum tube is firmly placed into the canister cover to ensure a vacuum is created. 4
How to Clean: HOW TO CLEAN Because you are dealing with raw meat, it is vital to keep this unit clean. The tumble cannister is dishwasher safe. You can also wash it by hand with warm, soapy water. DO NOT use your dishwasher s High Heat drying option. DO NOT IMMERSE THE BASE IN WATER! Simply wipe the base with a damp cloth. RECIPES Grilled Shrimp and Scallop Kabobs 12 Large or Jumbo raw shrimp 12 large raw scallops Juice of 1 lime ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes Place all items in Carey Vacuum Tumble Marinator for 5 minutes.wrap the scallops and shrimp with prosciutto and skew onto rosemary sticks. Grill 5 minutes on each side, turning once. Teriyaki Chicken Wings 3 pounds chicken wings or drummies I cup water 1 cup soy sauce 1 cup white sugar 1/3 cup pineapple juice ¼ cup olive oil 1 tablespoon of minced garlic 1 teaspoon ground ginger Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a cake pan or jelly roll pan with cooking spray. Whisk all ingredients, besides the wings, together. Place wings in Carey Vacuum Tumble Marinator and pour marinate over them. Tumble marinate the wings for 5 minutes. Spread the wings onto the pan and bake for about 1 hour. Lemon Pepper Pork Chop Marinade. 2 Tablespoons of grated lemon rinds 3 Tablespoons of lemon juice 3 Tablespoons of olive oil 1 Tablespoon of fresh crushed black peppercorns 1 Teaspoon garlic powder ½ teaspoon salt 2 pounds of center cut pork chops Whisk together all ingredients, except for pork chops. Place pork chops and marinade into the Carey Vacuum Tumble Marinator for 10 minutes. Grill or bake as you choose. 5
