from humble beginnings the world s first 3-in-1 tap, using groundbreaking technology, this product made the industry sit up straight and listen DAVID COLE - SALES DIRECTOR - PERRIN & ROWE And it all started in an old garden shed... Established in 1978 by Bob Perrin and Greg Rowe, the company started life in a large barn in Bob s back garden in East London, engineering and manufacturing components for other brassware companies. Early on in the 1980s, Perrin & Rowe obtained a reputa on as excellent problem solvers and accomplished engineers and we expanded and acquired our first factory in Rainham, Essex. Now we could really start to develop our own products, not just components for other companies. The world s first tap containing Triflow Technology was invented and patented in 1991. A three-way tap that dispensed hot, cold and filtered water. Quickly becoming an established market leader and within a few years was selling around the globe. WHERE IT ALL BEGAN - BOB PERRIN S FIRST WORKSHOP IN EAST LONDON BOB PERRIN WAS A MASTER DRAFTSMAN USING THE LATEST AUTOCAD COMPUTER SYSTEMS Having established a reputa on for excellence and quality, Bob Perrin and Greg Rowe were now keen to expand their own brand and in 1993, the first Perrin & Rowe kitchen products started to roll out of our factory. A natural progression of the success achieved within the kitchen industry led us to develop and produce the first range of bathroom brassware in 1995. It was clear that the UK market had been wai ng for products such as ours, with meless, beau fully propor oned designs, considered func on and lifelong quality all built in. It also became obvious that other markets desired these quali es and an exclusive distribu on deal with Rohl in the US quickly brought Perrin & Rowe fi ngs to an overseas market craving English tradi on and excellence. Australia and New Zealand followed and all these rela onships are s ll going strong today. By the millennium, it was evident that Perrin & Rowe had outgrown their current factory and we moved to a huge 55,000 sq facility in 2003, enabling us con nued growth for years to come. In a few short years, the Company also acquired premises in the midlands to secure the cas ng, polishing and pla ng processes, and also a produc on facility to allow the launch of our own Sanitary ware range. Today, Perrin & Rowe is one of the largest manufacturers of authen c kitchen and bathroom products in Great Britain, employing over 140 people. We have redefined the market needs for classically Bri sh decora ve brassware and managed to keep skilled manufacturing jobs here in the UK. With factories in Tamworth, Rainham and Wolverhampton, all Perrin & Rowe products are manufactured from raw materials by our skilled team of engineers. With an ongoing commitment to preserving skillsets, we offer a number of appren ceship schemes with an emphasis on teaching par cipants the engineering skills required to manufacture the high quality products offered by Perrin & Rowe. the filtration collection all systems flow Although The Perrin & Rowe Filtra on collec on may be a new arrival in the filtra on market, the technology behind our product derives from the world s first three-way tap, delivering not only hot and cold water but also filtered water through a dedicated waterway a system that ensures the filtered water is not cross-contaminated by the standard mains hot and cold water. It incorporates the highest standard Swiss-made ceramic filter which significantly reduces harmful substances such as chemical and biological contaminates as well as the most heavy metals and par cles as small as 0.2 microns, while leaving beneficial minerals such as fluoride, magnesium and calcium untouched. Four stage filtration Composition The Ceramic filter incorporated in the Filtra on system is one of the highest performing filters available in the market today and is made by Swiss manufacturer Katadyn. The cartridge is made from sintered diatomaceous earth and has a micro porous structure impregnated with silver which is known for its an bacterial ac on. The porous structure is able to eliminate par cles down to 0.2 micron (0.0002mm) in size. One pound of carbon contains a surface area of roughly 125 acres and can absorb literally thousands of different chemicals. Ac vated carbon is carbon which has a slight electro-posi ve charge added to it, making it even more effec ve in elimina ng chemicals and impuri es. As the water passes over the posi vely charged carbon surface, the nega ve ions of the contaminants are drawn to the surface of the carbon granules. the sink collection The world s finest fireclay sinks, handmade in the uk Each Perrin & Rowe fireclay sink is lovingly created by Shaws of Darwen using me-honoured tradi onal methods and materials, bearing testament to the cra smen who produce them. Perrin & Rowe sinks demonstrate the natural characteris cs of fireclay ceramics and are created by a slipcas ng process. A mixture of clay and water is poured by hand into a porous mould. When the newly formed sinks are dry enough, cra smen remove them from their moulds before hand finishing the sinks through a process of sponging and fe ling to create a smooth finish. Following a gradual drying period of up to 40 hours, the sinks are then prepared with a ground coat before being glazed. Firing in specially designed kilns at temperatures of up to 1200 degrees cen grade completes this rigorous process. Whilst modern technology has improved manufacturing methods over the years, the principles of this handcra ed product remain the same.
