Retail Look and Style Introduction
Auditors Guidelines Introduction 1.01 The following information is designed to assist Auditors in correctly completing the Toolbox questionnaire. In some instances, it is possible that a facility may have an acceptable alternative to the precise Retail Look and Style specification. Those items which constitute acceptable alternatives are described, as well as an indication of what certainly is unacceptable. In any eventuality, all new facilities must include the exact Retail Look and Style specification.

Retail Lighting Acceptable Existing Alternative 2.02 Showroom An acceptable alternative for Showroom Lighting already installed should have both ambient lighting units and accent lighting spotlights. Ambient Lighting Generally these would be 150w CDM/T circular, recessed downlights, achieving a minimum general lux level of 500. Accent Lighting These would be 150w CDM/T surface spotlights for accent light to enhance the car display. This would generally increase the light level at the cat to 800 lux.
Retail Lighting Acceptable Existing Alternative 2.03 Reception Area Above the reception area in the showroom, this type of lighting is acceptable as an alternative to the halogen lights. Service Advice Centre Alternative light units acceptable in this area are. Reception Area Suspended linear track complete with low voltage spotlights. Lux Level - 400 Service Advice Centre 150Watt CDMT recessed downlights. Lux Level - 500 Cafe Area Low voltage halogen lights are required to this comfort zone within the showroom. Cafe Area Suspended/pendant low voltage spotlights in clusters. Lux Level - 400

Retail Customer Facing Furniture Retail Look and Style Standard 3.01 1 2 Note The design intent for customer facing furniture in the Retail Look & Style programme features the use of light beech, silver, greys and black. The furniture may be sourced locally, provided that the design intent is adhered to. Floor Finishes Retail Look and Style Standard 5.01 Note For the retail display area and the service advice centre, suitable for purpose, grey porcelain tiles have been prescribed. New installations should always include the use of the specified tiles. Showroom Light Grey porcelain ceramic tiles 300 x 600mm, satin finish Cafe/Customer Centre Light Beech wooden floor or Amtico Stratica Classic Maple Cafe/Customer Centre Light Grey Porcelain ceramic tiles, matt finish 300mm x 300mm
Showroom Floor Finishes Acceptable Alternative 5.02 Note Acceptable existing alternative showroom floor materials are:-. Ceramic Tiles - Grey or White (plus beige in UK only).. Marble or Terrazzo - any colour.. Resin-bound Aggregate System - Grey or White. Flooring must be in good condition and any damaged areas replaced or repaired. All new showroom flooring installations must adhere to the Retail Look and Style standard, i.e. Light Grey ceramics.
