Why we meassure? To get HIGH QUALITY and SAFE products 27 October 2017 Page 3
This is what we do today 27 October 2017 Page 4
And now comes UV LEDs 27 October 2017 Page 5
And we have to measure multiple times 27 October 2017 Page 6
It is the LED challenge 27 October 2017 Page 7
Now we do this in Wood! Inline ContinousC Automated A DynamicD - tecnology 27 October 2017 Page 8
Background for ICAD Development Rising problems with newly installed UV LED solutions Many years of working with UV Measurement and proces documentation Many requests for inline continous monitoring, due to increased focus on UV process Many requests for UV measurement on a printing press how to do with instrument.? 27 October 2017 Page 9
1. Measurements of an array of 5 heads of a total of 1500mm 27 October 2017 Page 10
Test objectives 1. UV LED-array measurement: how accurate can we monitor and measure an array of UV LEDs? 2. W-LED or P-LED Calibration : to what level is it possible to measure the UV LED array and afterwards rapidly adjust it to linearity? 3. Microwave UV mercury lamps placed side by side: how is the uniformity along the row of microwave powered UV lamps? 4. Shadow effect of ICAD Sensor: We want to evaluate the effect of the shadow generated by the rod travelling in front of the UV source with regards to irradiance drop and UV energy loss. W-LED is a fully integrated UV LED system with Power Supply, control and ICAD technology all working together from Efsen 27 October 2017 Page 11

Key to success with UV LED Chemistry Chemistry and UV LED must match Correct UV equipment choice W vs. W/cm2 Dose Cooling of LED-dies Correct air filtration and handling for air-cooled modules Leak prevention for water-cooled LED modules Process control measuring LED Process documentation and measuring in line for changes Economy - LED vs. Arc LED equipment should exchange 2 arc-lamps for retrofitting For new line investment, LED should exchange just one arc-lamp Chemistry should be same price or less with LED 27 October 2017 Page 22
