Introducing
Combines all the efficiencies and performance of inverter technology with all the features and benefits of The Unico System
Made in conjunction with Argoclima Group is a European leader in HVAC technology and applications. The headquarters and the main factory of the Argoclima Group, is located in the north of Italy, near Milan.
What is iseries? An Inverter Heat Pump Can be used for Air Conditioning, Heating, and Domestic Hot Water (DHW) through use of an optional de-superheater Outdoor and Indoor units can be matched to the desired configuration + =
4 Zone Dampers in Plenum
What is iseries? SINGLE SPLIT: One Outdoor Unit and One Indoor Unit MULTISPLIT: One Outdoor Unit and up to Four Indoor Units SINGLE SPLIT One outdoor unit can be both single split and multi-split MULTISPLIT
FEATURES Unico Presentation AND BENEFITS
Features Unico Presentation that the market leaders in ductless air conditioning and heating do NOT have: Auxiliary Heat Lower Temperatures for Heating Operation Better defrost system, can heat when the system is in defrost mode Same outdoor unit can be used for both one to one and multi-split applications Both SDHV and High Wall Mount on one outdoor unit
Features that the market leaders in ductless air conditioning and heating do NOT have: Ability to do zoning with dampers A variety of third party thermostats Ability to cool or heat multiple rooms (Central Air- Conditioning vs. Room Air Conditioning)

OPERATION
Inverter Technology Uses 230V 1 Phase Power Converts to DC power Uses a SVPWM technology to convert DC power to 3 Phase DC Speeds up or down condensing unit and fans to meet load
SVPWM 180 Inverter Using a Pure Sine Wave. Takes care of electrical Noise in a system
Wide modulation range Larger modulation means less electric consumption and more efficiency
OPERATING LIMITS
SDHV RATINGS
New Cooling Only Guidelines We have 100% capacity at 5F outdoor temperature We have at least 65% of capacity at -15F outdoor temperature These tests involved NO wind baffles Same performance in 5 mph wind tests

ELECTRICAL
Electrical Power to Unico Air Handler If you are using a Unico System (SDHV), the power is supplied to the control board on the Unico Blower Module Must be 230v single phase power DO NOT POWER THROUGH OUTDOOR UNIT!
Communication Wire Must be RF shielded (A foil shield with drain wire) Ground ONE end (does not matter which end) 18/2 with shield and drain wire is very common All iseries Units will require a communication wire connection to the outside unit
Dip Switches 1 and 2
Setting the Switches
The IndoorB Board Includes two Fuses F1 and F2 F1 is 3.15A 250V (Unico P/N A01971-001) F2 is 100mA 250V (Unico P/N A01971-002)
The IndoorB Board (See installation manual) provides for: Alarm Condensate Pump Float Switch
Two Stage Heat Pump Thermostat
Components of the Thermostat Board: Terminal Block: R: 24V power C: Power, Common B: Reversing Valve (energize on heat) Y1: Stage One Heating/Cooling Y2: Stage Two Heating/Cooling
Note: Operation of fan only in heating mode can be overridden by call for heating
LED s
Components of Thermostat Adapter Board Outputs C: Common S1: Stage 1 Supplemental Heat S2: Stage 2 Supplemental Heat S3: Stage 3 Supplemental Heat AUX : 24V output (for hot water coil)
Sequence of Operation For Electric Backup: In heating mode for 20 minutes and thermostat not satisfied, S1 turns on After 20 minutes, then S2 is energized After another 20 minutes then S3 is energized
For Boiler Changeover (SDHV) Install jumper plug on the J5 (Humidity Sensor) connector
Hot Water Operation By default: Shuts off heat pump at 32F outside temperature Keeps fan running at High airflow Re-starts heat pump when temperature reaches 37F Can be adjusted
To Adjust Boiler Changeover Temperature Please refer to the earlier section on the remote control

I Series Defrost
Intelligent Defrost and Dynamic Cold Draft Unico Presentation No Cold Blow = No Cycle Losses More Efficient, You never stop heating in the Defrost Mode A trickle of hot gas directly from the compressor is used to prevent ice from forming
Cold Climate Heating I Series include two electric heaters in the outdoor unit 1. A condensate drain pan heater to prevent freezing 2. A crankcase heater to boil off refrigerant from the compressor to prevent liquid slugging

Troubleshooting Points to remember: 1. Respect the line lengths 2. Check the matchup matrix 3. Check the dip switches and cables -
Troubleshooting Unico Presentation RAT=Room Air Temp 12V ICT=Indoor Coil Temperature NOTES - The troubles are showed according to a priority list that is, in case of more than one trouble present, is always showed, at first, the one with the highest priority (1 2 3 etc.). - Sensor damaged means a situation where sensor is short-circuited or opened. - In case of damaged sensors, the system (CM, FMO, FMI etc.), if in OFF state, does not start.
