Purification Technology Pre-filter: The washable pre-filter filtrates large size allergens, dust and pet hair. HEPA filter: HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulates Air. Activated carbon filter: The washable activated carbon filter absorbs and removes common household odors VOCs (volatile organic compound), chemical smells and cigarette odor. Ultraviolet (UV) light: Sterilizes airborne pathogens like germs, viruses and bacteria that are too small to be captured by the HEPA filter.
